I gotta say, this game looks like it will have the best dialogue of any AC game. The voice actors actually seem to match their characters and there doesn't seem to be any awkward silences or anything along those lines. I'm digging the actor who plays Blackbeard!
I cannot wait to play this, I love the setting already and the characters seem really fleshed out. On a side note, I found it amazing that the word "Seamless" was not mentioned once :p
I'm not sure about that. Connor was a relative of Desmond so his Grandfather, Edward is too. I think they are going to use Desmonds father to do something that no-one really cares about anymore. Desmonds story had a lot of potential but Ubisoft didn't exploit it enough.
Another awesome trailer with even more information, this time about the characters you meet It pains me to think that there is still a month to go before Black Flag is released Cannot wait, and time cannot pass quickly enough
This will be the best Assassins Creed till now.Fucking awesome, since these days franchises have a tendency to be simplified and dumbed down.I love that Ubisoft is always bringing something new, trying to improve, explore other possibilities with it's franchises. This will be an instant buy.
Since I've not played neither AC4 nor GTA V I can't say which I will like the most, but so far AC is the only series of those you mentioned that I've ever been genuinely interested in up until GTA V I am also very confident that Black Flag will be at least the second best AC game, story and gameplay together. Imo, AC2 has the best story and AC3 the best gameplay. At least the main character of AC4 seems as interesting as Ezio :)
I can't wait for AC4!! I have been playing all the previous AC games, just started ACR atm.Edward isn't an Assassin or at least he isn't an official or at least doesn't follow the tenets so he may piss the Assassin's off and I read on a Q&A that the Templars try to recruit Edward. If this is the beginning of the Kenway saga (assume that Connor was part 3) then Haytham must be part 2 so maybe AC5 be set in London. A trailer mentioned that you can get a full story if you play AC4 and 3 backwards
Did you play ACIII?? He died, Desmond's story is over I know it's sad but it is over now... In this game you play as an Abstergo employee in the modern day
The character in real life is supposed to be us. We were first an Abstergo employee who rose the ranks. Now, we will discover the other side of Abstergo. In the AC universe, the animus is an entertainment device. Every family has one. For history and gaming.
Apparently you play a nameless Abstergo researcher who has been told to research Edward Kenway. The reasoning behind it being nameless is so that we, the players, can put ourselves in the shoes of the researcher. So rather than being a player who controls Desmond who controls Altair/Ezio/Connor. We are ourselves, in the world, playing as Edward.
Sales wise nothing is going to beat GTA 5. Personally for me this is going to be MY game of the year. I'm getting GTA 5 in the post tomorrow but i'm still more excited about this.
They're both different genres despite being open-world. Rockstar is the master of open worlds and I'm pretty sure it's a fact that GTA is the embodiment of open world.
Ahh the old comment system... how nice and simple this was. Too bad it will be switch over soon enough. I'm going to miss this when it is completely gone. Also Black Flag is awesome! :D
"... and enemy of empires" That's the first time I have heard justification for slaying all of the guards. Ezio must have killed hundreds, if not thousands, of guards during the series, for no reason at all :-D
I actually didn't include AC2 in this comment, and in the rest of them there is most of the time only one or two. Ziio was so cool, I would definitely wanna see more of something like that
Exactly! Which makes him Welsh! Born in Wales, raised in Wales(probably with his Welsh mother's family) and speaks with a Welsh accent(his voice actor is Welsh!) Edward would consider himself a Welshman. His father is the only English thing about him. I had no problem playing middle eastern,Italian and Native American assassins,so why are some people so narrow minded and hostile to a Welsh assassin that they feel they need to deny that he's even Welsh for them to like him?! It's rather pathetic..
Haytham was born in England and raised in England, he probably went to a posh Englsh private school too. Which explains why he has a posh English accent and identifies himself as a aristocratic Englishman, even though his father is Welsh. If Edward would have settled in France,or any other country, when he married and had a child, then Haytham would've been raised in that environment and identified with that culture. How is that so hard to understand? Also Matt Ryan(the voice actor) is Welsh.
Edward is half English half Welsh. He lived more of his life in England then Wales. He's only "Welsh" because ubisoft are anglophobic and thay used the actor as an excuse to avoid a English assassin.
The reason why so many people got ac3 (not just Americans) was because it was soooooooo hyped up... And no other game has ever been about the american revolution....... Or maybe because the ac series is just sooooo bad ass....( I think the last one :D)
I don't understand what you mean, I am under the assumption that you played AssCreed3. There were Desmond sections in that game which had him going to various places around the world looking for those First Civ batteries so he could unlock more part of their base. I am assuming you played right to the end of it and saw him sacrifice himself to save the planet from the solar flare. That was his end. In AssCreed 4 you might be lucky to be someone close to him or at very least knows of him.
Just one point, Ubisoft spend much more than a year on AC games. For instance, although it was released a year after revelations, it took 4 years to make AC3.
I knew the antagonist was gonna be Woodes Rogers because I did a background check on the ship called Delicia which appears in the end of the cinematic trailer xD
What not liking Wales is bigotry? The advantage of saying British is you avoid various people arguing over the distinction between English, Scottish etc.
Yes and no, Olly. AC4 is before AC3, but AC games could be set in anypoint in history. There's no pattern to it, as far as I know. The writers probably just sit around a desk every now and then and brainstorm interesting time periods.
mate after the credits in ACIII you saw his toasted body on the floor with Juno stepping over his corpse, telling us that his story was over. Desmond is dead. besides, haven't you being watching the other Black Flag videos? the developers announced that the new present day protagonist is you the player.
I just have one small request, Ubisoft. Make the different costumes available in cut scenes please. It's only a small thing but your not doing it in 3 after Ezio's trilogy had it...it shouldn't be that difficult.
My whole point is i wanted to see just a tad bit of what happened to Desmond in the real world ...and you don't know that he died at the end of ac3 if the series ended at brotherhood you would have thought that he died then. You dont know what happens to desmond until you play ac4.
@Malevolent Shadow(reply is being weird) So, that's just idiotic bigotry. Wales is small and has never conquered or treated other nations cruelly in the past so I just don't get the hostility. Wales and the Welsh aren't even that well known outside the UK, I think it's a good thing that AC4 shows something new to a wider audience that may be ignorant to the difference in the UK. A lot don't know of the distinction between British and English, labeling Edward as just British would be pointless.
It's weird hearing Matt Ryan narrate. Pretty much you're hearing Edward talking about himself in third-person.
I gotta say, this game looks like it will have the best dialogue of any AC game. The voice actors actually seem to match their characters and there doesn't seem to be any awkward silences or anything along those lines. I'm digging the actor who plays Blackbeard!
Lets just remember how awesome the knife sheath looked! Thats why it's number 2 on my list of AC games. That hidden blade helped so much.
Loved that 'please could you repeat?' bit xD
I cannot wait to play this, I love the setting already and the characters seem really fleshed out.
On a side note, I found it amazing that the word "Seamless" was not mentioned once :p
I'm not sure about that. Connor was a relative of Desmond so his Grandfather, Edward is too. I think they are going to use Desmonds father to do something that no-one really cares about anymore. Desmonds story had a lot of potential but Ubisoft didn't exploit it enough.
Lol look at us now
This looks like it's going to be my favourite Assassins Creed game yet.
Another awesome trailer with even more information, this time about the characters you meet

Cannot wait, and time cannot pass quickly enough

It pretty much will be. It will be avaliable for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and WiiU, if you don't have any of these I suggest you get one.
Matt Ryan has a fucking bad ass voice!!!!
I love the humour involved in this. Also, Charles Vane looks a lot like Charles lee from ac3
One of the best Assassin´s Creed trailers. Still AC II´s the best so far.
I think this Assassin's Creed will be the most interesting of its franchise!
Since I've not played neither AC4 nor GTA V I can't say which I will like the most, but so far AC is the only series of those you mentioned that I've ever been genuinely interested in up until GTA V
I am also very confident that Black Flag will be at least the second best AC game, story and gameplay together. Imo, AC2 has the best story and AC3 the best gameplay. At least the main character of AC4 seems as interesting as Ezio :)
I'm getting happier and happpier I pre-ordered this. Looks amazing!
The voice acting is crazy good! Can't wait to get this game :D
I F**king pissed myself laughing when Benjamin Hornigold said "Oh for f**k sake."
Assassin's Creed + Pirates = Epic game. As simple as that my friends.
"Is that clear?"
"Please, sir, repeat?"
"Oh for fuck's sake!"
xD
"Please to repeat" - "Oh, for fuck's sake" LOL XD
Did you play ACIII?? He died, Desmond's story is over I know it's sad but it is over now... In this game you play as an Abstergo employee in the modern day
LazerzZ hey, it's my favourite youtuber
OMG the assassins looked awesome.
That explains why I had no idea what you were on about.
It's you. Me, him, her, everybody. We play as an alternate us for the modern day.
1 WORD : AMAZING
I like assassin creed so much
Spanish sailor: please do repea-
Horrnigold: Oh for fuck's sake
lololololol
If you actually played right to the end of Assassins Creed 3 you see that Desmond catches a rather virulent case of dying.
i love his voice
The character in real life is supposed to be us. We were first an Abstergo employee who rose the ranks. Now, we will discover the other side of Abstergo. In the AC universe, the animus is an entertainment device. Every family has one. For history and gaming.

So rather than being a player who controls Desmond who controls Altair/Ezio/Connor. We are ourselves, in the world, playing as Edward.
Edward Teach was really the batman of the golden age of piracy.
Yes, Brotherhood was great as well, I´d give it let´s say 89/100. But when I player AC II, I remember I was so amazed. I´d give it like 96/100
ur not the only one ;). Many people , including me, like Assassins Creed more than GTA
Ahh the old comment system... how nice and simple this was. Too bad it will be switch over soon enough. I'm going to miss this when it is completely gone. Also Black Flag is awesome! :D
"... and enemy of empires" That's the first time I have heard justification for slaying all of the guards. Ezio must have killed hundreds, if not thousands, of guards during the series, for no reason at all :-D
charles vane seems like a cool character
I actually didn't include AC2 in this comment, and in the rest of them there is most of the time only one or two.
Ziio was so cool, I would definitely wanna see more of something like that
Looks very good, but I'm curious. Are we moving backwards in time from AC3?
As a Bristolian, I commend the voice actor of Blackbeard.
Love this game cause of the Piracy, and it takes place in my hometown Nassau.
Last time I checked there was a difference between dying and falling into a coma.
Wow,just wow.
this game is gonna be so cool , the story is gonna be interesting , and the action is gonna be so awesome , AC 4 will be very good :)
I preordered the buccaneer edition for xbox one and i cant wait!!!!
now that was epic!
Edward Thatch is also another name for Blackbeard and Ubisoft will mostly use this name rather then the commonly name Edward Teach
yess..I am looking forward to this..
Best. Response. Ever.
Exactly! Which makes him Welsh! Born in Wales, raised in Wales(probably with his Welsh mother's family) and speaks with a Welsh accent(his voice actor is Welsh!) Edward would consider himself a Welshman. His father is the only English thing about him.

Wow Is that how Matt Ryan talks all the time. XD
i am really so excited
Can't wait to get this!!!!!
Finally someone gets that...
Haytham was born in England and raised in England, he probably went to a posh Englsh private school too. BAHAHA
"Please do repeat"
"Oh for fuck's sake"
I am excited for this. :)

You never know, Ubisoft also has more time to experiment by releasing every year, which they do
Just one point, Ubisoft spend much more than a year on AC games. For instance, although it was released a year after revelations, it took 4 years to make AC3.
I knew the antagonist was gonna be Woodes Rogers because I did a background check on the ship called Delicia which appears in the end of the cinematic trailer xD
What not liking Wales is bigotry? The advantage of saying British is you avoid various people arguing over the distinction between English, Scottish etc.
he was but there wasnt much to work with haytham was amazing.... hopefully edward will be about as epic
amazing!
Welcome to the Internet where what you want is what you don't want and what you don't what is what you want.
I really wish they would make a chinese assassin with a ninja theme, bring stealth and martial arts to the series
You already have!
i know right, haytham was an epic villain one of the best i think
I agree with the first half.
Yes and no, Olly. AC4 is before AC3, but AC games could be set in anypoint in history. There's no pattern to it, as far as I know.
The writers probably just sit around a desk every now and then and brainstorm interesting time periods.
I don't think AC will sell more copies than GTA 5, however AC4 does have the advantage of releasing on all platforms.. including PC ;)
"Oh for fucks sake..." LOL
mate after the credits in ACIII you saw his toasted body on the floor with Juno stepping over his corpse, telling us that his story was over. Desmond is dead.
besides, haven't you being watching the other Black Flag videos? the developers announced that the new present day protagonist is you the player.
come on, you get to be a freerunning pirate, with 4 guns
What about desmond's story in the real world ? they always leave us with a cliffhanger at the end of each game
I just have one small request, Ubisoft. Make the different costumes available in cut scenes please. It's only a small thing but your not doing it in 3 after Ezio's trilogy had it...it shouldn't be that difficult.
oh thank you sir, god save you
I'd score AC1 92/100 myself, but all others are pretty accurate to my opinion as well!
Nice trailer, still waiting for a combat trailer though
AWESOME
It will be relesed for PC later with nex-gen consoles.
Awesome, Edward is Welsh!
0:42 "Born and raised in Wales"
Oh for fucks sake.
Best. Line. Ever
This is so fucking awesome!
Ac 2 has been the best so far but this looks to good
Because he likes AC3 better than brotherhood according to his preferences... I'd say... I agree with his rating though... ;)
Blackbeard used fear and theatricality. Blackbeard = Batman.
My whole point is i wanted to see just a tad bit of what happened to Desmond in the real world ...and you don't know that he died at the end of ac3 if the series ended at brotherhood you would have thought that he died then. You dont know what happens to desmond until you play ac4.
3:29 Assassins spotted. Interested to see they will play out in the story.
The best weed. No, I justed liked it very much more then Revelations. I could actually want to play through it.
By playing Assassins Creed: Revelations... You know? The entire story about him being in a coma and meeting subject 16 inside the animus?
when is the game out to the PC?
@Malevolent Shadow(reply is being weird)
So, that's just idiotic bigotry. Wales is small and has never conquered or treated other nations cruelly in the past so I just don't get the hostility. love it
