Derrell talks about writing being a private thing. For me listening to Derrell is largely a private thing bc I feel so emotionally vulnerable listening to him……that and bc I don’t like to cry in public and he always brings me tears. He’s such a treasure.
Thanks so much for posting this 150% proof unadulterated solo Darrell Scott. It made my day/week/month. I especially enjoyed the fingerpicking style in Crooked Road. There might be hope that I can play at one day because I’m not a flat-picker. I can tell how optimistic I am feeling when I listen to Darrell play . On good days it makes me want to practice more. On not so good days I think why bother? I enjoyed learning about Darrell’s roots. Most people who study poetry and university don’t go on to write songs like this. But I am so glad Darrell did. I can think of no other songwriter who fully expresses the dark angst that they are feeling but always always ends on a hopeful note.
Just out my one hour walk on the hills on the Tipperary /Limerick border {in Ireland} had this interview in my headphones to accompany me and my dog - just so wonderful! Thanks to all involved

Darrell is one of the music worlds most precious hidden gems. He is a true songwriter through and through and a world class musician on top of it.

DS is a remarkable human being, a true-ing model out of his own soulful living. Thank you Darrell 🙏
The greatest songwriter to ever come out of the U.S.

It's been a very long time since a song brought me to tears. What a blessing Darrell is. I only wish I I had been part of his world long ago.

A few years on and this is still a gem. I watch and listen to this about once a month to fill in time between seeing Darrell do it live. 👍
I love Darrell seen him several times. Great song writer. Could sit and watch him play all day.

I'm not really a fan of this music. But I like the opening act!
Love that Nylon Guitar...... What kind is it?
Looks like a Sobell Martin Simpson. Don't think it's nylon.
Ha ha. Sorry about that! I replied before the vid got to the nylon guitar.
Just looking at the headstock, it may have been built by Guy Clark
Can we meet? Mooneyhan.
