Are you wondering what the benefits of Iodine are? I had a ultrasound of my thyroid done recently. The scan came back and it mentioned that I have a nodule on my thyroid so I figured that I would use nutrition to help support my thyroid.
I was listening to a health podcast talking about thyroid support and they mentioned that Iodine is a supplement that you can take to help your thyroid. From what I understand, you need to be careful when taking iodine, so make sure to consult your physician before taking any new medication or supplements. There are limits to the amount of iodine that your body needs.
Some symptoms of bad thyroid health that I was having after learning a few things was cold hands and feet, tiredness and hormonal imbalances, so I picked up an iodine supplement.

What brand
Do you take them together at the same time? And do you take them daily? I started taking it and I notice my throat aches a little bit. But I have all the signs of hypothryroid...and I keep asking for them to check it but they won't do the test everytime they take my blood 😒 and when they do, they dont test for all the thyroid hormones smh. I think its 3 or 4.
which brand of kelp and what type of selenium and how much per day?
I take that brand as well, I started taking it as well for cold hands & feet. It realy works. My lab work came back normal before & after taking it. I've also noticed other benefits but I'll let people fugure that out for their selfs because everyone is different. 😊

I take 3 to 6,ooo mg, not mcg, of iodine kelp a day. An independent study I read gave test humans 120,000 mg of kelp iodine a day. The thyroid shuts down for 48 hours and reactivates after the 48 hours.
Doctors lead us to believe iodine is scary. Scary is supporting cancer by having too little iodine. Doctors have 4 to 17 hours of nutritional study in their years of study.
I just brought Iodine with Kelp. It says "take one drop once a day with a little water," was wondering if taking such a tiny amount would be beneficial?.

I have the liquid form and On the bottle the instructions says 1 drop mix with some water. If I take more than that, then I notice a blisters or two will appear on my tongue.

Would you recommend sea kelp instead of Lugols Iodine?
check your iron levels . When I started taking iron and b12 , cold feet , legs and hands stopped happening. I do believe my thyroid has been low for many years . The iodine ## seems to never get "measured" during blood tests . dang it . great video . chk your iron levels :)

I consume spirulina (1.5g per day) and I bought a bottle of Kelp (365mcg) from now, I wanted to know if I am not at risk of exceeding the daily amount of iodine .... thank you very much if you can answer me
Daily amount of 100 - 175 mcg is safe , you should not exceed 200 mcg

I would avoid taking any kelp after Fukushima. Far better to take Lugol’s.

Hi, I'm considering Lugol's. Please tell me dose you're suggesting. How many drops and what % iodine do you use? From what I'm reading, they suggest 5 drops of 5% mixed with 1/2 tsp bicarb per day in water. Thank you for your help.
Considering iodine is taken to mitigate the effects of radiation poisoning, surely the iodine in kelp will mean they cancel each other out? Wouldn’t it be like trying to give an aspirin a headache?
150mcg is very low dose but it's good to start slow, selenium deficiency is a big reason why people don't react well to iodine many people are deficient and it's also very important for the thyroid, also detox reaction can occur since iodine displace hallogens like floride, chlorine, bromide
i am personally taking 700mcg kelp iodine a day and 400mcg selenium as part of my mineral balancing program

Am new at this and want to start at a safe dose. All the symptoms of hypothyroidism even having pressure in my throat.
I did buy the now brand as in this video kelp. 150mcg from 30mg organic kelp.
Also bought selenium 200mcg which I heard they go hand n hand.
This this a safe dosage to start off with? I know If your deficient in one your deficient in the other. I did take the iodine skin test in was gone in 7 hours.
How do I take it, together, seperate? With food or without?

I would not recommend eating more salts for more iodine!!!!! Cut the salts out take a supplement what I'm personally going to attempt.
One a day woman’s supplement has 150 mcg in it . I just started taking it today
So did taking kelp do anything? I'm questing for supplements that do more than make your pee bright yellow.

How to use
Cool, but you don't state if the cold feet condition has been corrected... In any event I was looking at the same bottle and likely will buy it.. I have too have cold feet, get drowsy most days, my thyroid seems to have a teensy pain, and my scalp itches allot.. So, hopefully the kelp will help ...Will report back one day...
I just brought "Iodine with Kelp." On the bottle it says to take one drop once a day in small amount of water, I'm just wondering if that dosage is correct being that one drop is so so little to take in, will I be able to benefit from taking one drop daily?..

Mine also says 1 drop but one drop is 135mcg. I took 10 drops today. Dr berry says to take 1mg-3mg a day for thyroid issues.
I think starting with small amounts is wise. Make sure you aren't allergic or that your digestive tract doesn't go too nutty.

Hypo or hyper?second pigmentation may be cause of Insulin Resistant...cut down carbs, Gluten and sugar start intermittent fasting for 16:8....it will help you

Most kelp is polluted. I highly recommend Dr. David Brownstein's iodine book.

Really? Aww that sucks, can you explain why kelp? Also how about seaweed and other sea vegetables, are those contaminated as well? I guess I’ll just stick with taking potassium iodide.
I bought Iodine seaweed capsules and took 2 capsules (1 capsule is 100 mcg) as it was suggested in a label (without talking to a doctor first). 4 hours after taking it, my stomach started to hurt badly and I was in severe pain for 7 hours. People, please Be Very Careful with Iodine!
It's the kelp. Sometimes people have an adverse reaction to the kelp (not the iodine) or the kelp may have been contaminated and made you sick.
This was found by 4 minutes of googling. But sure, blame the iodine I guess.
I drank it too and get severe back pain had to drink Advil
