It's funny you bring up The Fury and how similar Nimrod is to it. The story goes that the only reason Nimrod exists/was created for the comics was because Alan Moore, in typical Alan Moore fashion, wouldn't let anyone else play with his toys. Back in The Trial of Magneto, we had Sir James Jaspers involved -- The Fury was supposed to emerge during the trial and set Jaspers up as a big bad for Claremont's ongoing X-Men book. Alan Moore threw a fit, leading to the story being neutered (Fenris was the enemy instead) and Claremont and Co going back to the drawing board, which lead to Nimrod being created.
Sorry, mistake there -- Jaspers was going to be established as a human villain in The Trial, but the Fury, along with Mad Jim, were going to appear at some point later, maybe the Mutant Massacre, somebody's comment reminded me of it.

Whipping out this fairly obscure character; you gotta do a video about the High Evolutionary, Rob. On a more on point not, Nimrod is basically Marvel's version of Amazo. Both were down well in the X-men Animated series and Justice League/Unlimited respectively.
A.M.A.Z.O was also done surprisingly well for its first live action appearance, in the Arrowverse crossover *Elseworlds* ... it was also the first live action appearance of John Dee/Doctor Destiny, before he showed up again in the *Sandman*
Nimrod in history was the King of Babylon, and leader of the Pagan God's (Marvel fans would know a few as Odin, Thor, Loki) and was the creator of Yuletide, which after the Crusades became Christmas to appease Norsemen and women who were reluctant to convert to Christianity. His face is on ancient Babylonian coins
I love the Nimrod, character since he first appeared in the X-men! Selene called him a "mighty hunter" and he is. Imagine a super-computer/robot, that can analyze any opponent and reconfigure his structure into weapons that can neutralize or destroy his target. And he's basically indestructible because he has total control over his cellular structure. He essentially was kicking the crap out of the Juggernaut, the X-men and the Hellfire Club combined until Rogue absorbed all the x-men's powers and put him down. Would love to see Marvel writers put him up against some of the other Marvel heroes like Avengers or Fantastic Four or even against some villains like Doom or Apocalypse. What a fight!
Rob. I notice you like those tank type characters like Hulk, Thanos and Apocalypse because you tend to way overestimate them. Nimrod could easily just absorb the gamma radiation coming off Hulk to depower him.
Oh I miss those comics. Chris Claremont and John Romita Jr. did such awesome work with the Nimrod story line. The fight with Nimrod and The Hellfire Club gave it to him.
I had that comic in the 80's when he appeared and fought the Xmen and Hellfire club. He blasted Rachel Summers, but Spiral transported her to another dimension as Nimrod was blasting her. And Nimrod was masking as a human and staying with a lady who had a son. The comic was way ahead of its time!
Good Grief! I actually remember buying & reading this at the time. I thought it was a convoluted mess then & still do. Basically an unstoppable McGuffin that would take someone yielding the Power Cosmic to defeat.
The future sentinels in Days of Future Past film are composite characters, combination of the regularly Sentinels from the comics (made much faster and agile in the movie) with Nimrod's adaptive ability.
Like granting wish? Having a hot tempered sister, have a nephew and niece which is a twin? And have a british butler like everybody else with a butler?
Nimrod is the first villain I remember from my first X-Men comics. I even made a custom LEGO mini back when I was like 11 haha. I always knew he was OP
Why would you think that Nimrod would waste time trying to match the level of strength with someone like Hulk? Nimrod would probably just neutralize the gamma radiation long enough to incinerate Bruce Banner. Nimrod doesn't wage war for combat sake, His function seems to be neutralizing threats.... which he does horrifyingly well.
MUTHAFUKIN AZMO GOLD!!!!! YEEESSSS!!!! Tyler Spence nimrod is from before the flood. Most of the characters in comics are based on ancient beings that are mentioned in the Bible, but the masses have no clue.

Ah, the most powerful armor...
He will use it to shield his doing
Indeed he can.
but can he stop Constantine
Imagine Vision gets a Nimrod's body. That will be a dope story line.
arent the future sentinels from the movie basically Nimrod
Yup they was a Nimrod army
they were so scary
@@SonnyBCreative agreed those things were terrifying looking
it was looking better too, scarier with dark alien looking than pink robot
Nimrod is an Sentinal from Bishop's time in the future
They could defeat him if Tony was to work on some type of malware virus to shut him down. That’s never been tried before. It would require tricking Nimrod to connect to a computer
Just have nimrod download a song from limewire boom hes dead
Supremmo wouldn’t he just analyze the virus on the computer before he connected to it?
Deon Hollins Not if it’s disguised as an antivirus program
Tony sends him a spam email 📧 that’s looks legit and Nimrod opens it by mistake...infected, game over!😂
Negative human.....Lord Nimrod would detect the virus before connecting & prepare for an anti adaptation resequencing contingency plan
Also really appreciate the content I dont even have the money or time to realisticly see all the content I get to on your channel. I like hearing multiple opinions of others so hearing yours and reading commenters is definetly a plus as well keep it up man!
His name could a reference to the biblical Nimrod who is said to be "A mighty hunter before the lord."
To powerful for the MCU: Mr Poppers Penguins
U are hilarious😂
ViBe Is Like thanks 😂
The Sentinels in the "Days for Future Past" movie were basically Nimrod with their hyper adaptability.
Not quite Nimrod
Nimrod in history was the King of Babylon, and leader of the Pagan God's (Marvel fans would know a few as Odin, Thor, Loki) and was the creator of Yuletide, which after the Crusades became Christmas to appease Norsemen and women who were reluctant to convert to Christianity. His face is on ancient Babylonian coins
Yes sir...you are the only person with a great comment lol. It's all based on these (lights holders)
I enjoy your content, especially the lore side of it. I enjoy marvel comics and this is the first place I go for that content.
I heard a ding around 2:13 and thought someone was texting me lol
Toxic Ear5 slow down the video and check the bottom left corner at that part lol
Danny Svetlick I did lol
Thnks guys
Storm’s arctic cold/ frost/ ice has naturalized Nimrod.
Too powerful for MCU: Revolutionary Cyclops
Who???? 🤔🤔🤔
You need mutants for that to work in the first place...
😂
@@midwings00 You need Mutants for Nimrod to be a thing in the first place
He had a growing army.
You forgot Nimrod learns from every fight. That truly make him Savage
He specially shines in X-men TAS episodes: One man's worth.
Nimrod did sort of end up in the X-Men DoFP film, the ones from the future are all nameless versions of Nimrod, which made them so dangerous
Too powerful for the MCU: Squirrel Girl. 😒
Infinity War would be over in 5 minutes if she was there.
Ask rick and morty about the squirrels..they are not to be messed with!
been years since I've been on your channel ...finally one of my favorite villains nimrod getting some love . great vid Rob
And there it is. The Mad Jim Jaspers plug.
The Power Cosmic would have to be a sentiment being incarnate of The Power Cosmic....💯
.....weeeeeeerrrrrdddd.....👍
Marvel Comics inspired me on so many levels I cant even begin to explain. Its just awesome .
*_I wish Nimrod memes should become well-known than Thanos memes._*
"More"?
Try that again.
Say WHAT?????? Check your typing, dude... no clue what you tried to write...
Cool, learn to speak though, then comment
Little known fact, the house cat wrote that comment.
The first time I heard of this guy was from
Marvel snap lol
He is in the Xmen cartoon
Endgames time travel functions much like here in Days of Future Past
The future sentinels in Days of Future Past film are composite characters, combination of the regularly Sentinels from the comics (made much faster and agile in the movie) with Nimrod's adaptive ability.
Time to reconsider Ur comments on Nimrod vs apocalypse after House of X
I love watching all your videos man..
In the movie every Sentinel was nemrod, and they were terrifying.
They really were. Fox nailed the design and feel of the sentinels, even upgraded the idea
Nimrod was a legendary Hunter and king from ancient times
Marvel snap players incoming
Nimrod is in marvel strikeforce
Marvel Contest of Champions
here because of Marvel Snap Days of Future Past season.. no wonder they picked those cards!
Everyone remembers Nimrod...from an awesome story
👀
Like granting wish? Having a hot tempered sister, have a nephew and niece which is a twin? And have a british butler like everybody else with a butler?
Just stumbled across this channel/series. Great stuff!
You’re voice is Neil Degrasse Tyson and the doctor from Simpsons
Nimrod is the first villain I remember from my first X-Men comics. I even made a custom LEGO mini back when I was like 11 haha. I always knew he was OP
Mexico is North America as well 🤷🏼♂️
Nope
@@mech-dragon1445 it is tho
Why would you think that Nimrod would waste time trying to match the level of strength with someone like Hulk?
Nimrod would probably just neutralize the gamma radiation long enough to incinerate Bruce Banner. Nimrod doesn't wage war for combat sake, His function seems to be neutralizing threats.... which he does horrifyingly well.
Amazo vs Nimrod
That would be epic
3:12 Can't unsee Wolverine pissing on the button to call the elevator
Nimrod vrs Amzo gold JLA cartoon version. What say you...
Nimrod doesn't stand a chance :3
MUTHAFUKIN AZMO GOLD!!!!! YEEESSSS!!!!
That was the awesomest momment...he becomes sooi far beyond God-like...he immediately leaves the planet....galaxy...the universe....because Superman and every one else would just be like frying some micro-organisms with a Gamma Ray Burst...💯
...excellent refrence...
CoolRelax Turkishblends that would be dope asf lmao 😂but Amazo gold would decimate Nimrod he fought 8 gods and stole their powers that’s how he even became gold. But ya Gold Amazo definitely for the win lol
Hey Rob, just letting you know Grant Morrison has a comic out there of a Santa claus as a murdering warrior with a big sword. Would be great for a holiday vid, also thanks for always putting up great videos
Yeah boy! I didn't miss out on your sexy voice
Oh god, please don't encourage this. All jokes eventually get old when they've been spammed for years.
This video was excellent please do a follow up video on Bastion cause he was pretty important during 2nd Coming.
So between Nimrod, The Super Adaptoid and DC’s Amazo who is the better bot?
Amazo, more potential.
i was thinking the same thing
Arthur Souza how does he have more potential?
You just had to ask that.#$%% you
throw the fury in this match too
Great vid man.
Can you please do one on the Shi'ar Imperial Guard?
in what world is an android beating world breaker ..... that's just an amazing bit of plot amour right there mate!
Dude! I've totally been waiting for you to talk about Nimrod!!!! I always wondered why nobody brought this dude up! Thanks man!
Rob pls tell me where to submit fan art? This is probably the 100th time I'm asking u
Using youtube comments to communicate 4Head

I'm a marvel unlimited guy so I'm always a few months behind but this issue was on it last week and WOW! That's why I love Hickman and I'm a X-Men fan til I die. I'm worried that the phalanx part will never be a part of it but I'm hopeful he nails it before he moves on.
Thanks Rob by the way! I grew up keeping my love of comics to myself for dumb reasons but seeing your videos and channel grow had made me feel that I'm alright and always have been. You're more than a legend, you're a marvel!
This is embarrassing, I left this comment on the wrong video 😅 but it was the recent Nimrod issue (recent for me haha) and my point stands cos I love this retrospective into the character.
Isnt nimrod from the bible?
Tyler Spence nimrod is from before the flood. Most of the characters in comics are based on ancient beings that are mentioned in the Bible, but the masses have no clue.
@Tyler Spence Actually, I think Nimrod predates the Bible but the authors of the Bible stole the Nimrod character from earlier stories.
the AGNOSTIC formerly known as incomprehensible14 no Nimrod is in the Bible he’s in Genesis
Yes he is
Nimrod is an awesome villain. Love the fact that he originally was displaced from a future time due to Kulan Gath's transformation of NYC in an amazing X-men storyline. Would like to see Marvel writers throw him up against other hero teams like the FF or the Avengers.
