    I have just purchased the 3 sec tent, which will take me more than 3 seconds. I have the Triumph Tiger sport 660, and I love him. I am looking to do some wild camping. Enjoy your adventures

      😂 yes it does not take three seconds however, I do find the tent fairly good and hopefully, you will find that too. Let us know. BTW, great choice of bike 😊

    Puddle Alert !- I've just bought the small sized one, and although workmanship is good, a major design flaw is that the top is not domed or even flat, but actually sags to form a "crater" or rain trap . Don't take my word for it, checkout some vids.
    The small "top cover" doesn't cover the whole crater, so any rain falling towards the outer edges of the crater will run inwards towards the centre and form a puddle which might then drip down the centre spindle.
    I'll try making a bigger top cover myself out of spare waterproof material to cover the whole diameter of the crater which should solve the problem.

      These leak like a sive in a downpour ... Their marketing vid on their website shows a tent drenched in some sort of waterproofing spray to make the water bead and run off.. A complete scam.

    Also, be aware the small size tent weighs a hefty 6 pounds which is a bit heavy for backpacking on foot or bicycle, so I think a motorbike or vehicle is needed.
    Suggestion to the tentmakers- bring out a 1-person version to cut down the weight.

      Well done Lloyd, I found the tent great a couple of weeks ago at the Adventure Bike Rider festival. I used a king size blow up mattress (£20) which filled the complete tent. It was great. AND!!!!, one of the nights, it absolutely gushed it down with rain. I didn't get much sleep that night due to the noise. Thankfully, the single skin tent did not leak at all. Easy to put up, easy to take down 👍

    Just purchased one of these. I really hope it's waterproof! I just got fed up wrestling with poles and everything on my old traditional tent. especially as my mate had a 3 second cheapo tent and enjoyed the spectacle of me arsing around for 30 minutes whilst he sat and complained that i hadn't put the kettle on yet!

    • @bankruptpensioner
      @bankruptpensioner  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Gretchen, thanks for the comment. I just have not had time to test proper with other demands etc however, you have now reminded me. I shall put up the tent in the garden and leave it for a few days. Then we can see if this is waterproof proper. I suspect it is more a summer tent but the test would be good.

    Just brought one, it’s on its way. Now I have seen very bad reviews on you tube about rain leaking in, what have I done as the quality is now in doubt.😳

    • @bankruptpensioner
      @bankruptpensioner  4 месяца назад +2

      Hi David, firstly, I have had no problems. My last camp was in February 2024. 4 degrees C. Bloody Cold. The ground was absolutely sodden. The soil was wet through. And I thought I would be wet through in the morning. Due to the cold, the condensation was quite heavy in the morning due to me breathing etc etc, but no major problem. The ground sheet of the tent kept all the sodden water from the ground out. And everything in the tent was dry (other than breathing condensation - 4 degrees C). I think you will be ok. But test it our in the back garden when you get it. The ground at the moment in the UK is wet through so it will certainly confirm to you that the tent is ok. 👍

  • @MrKozanitis
    @MrKozanitis 8 месяцев назад +2

    It looks good! Yes, I agree! But the point is: IS it good? Not in my case, when it’s leaking rather badly in any rain! And three legs have broken by the third use, and the stakes are too flimsy to keep it anchored even in a light breeze! And, in Greece, where I use it, and the weather temps get high, the air circulation within the tent is very poor rendering its interior uncomfortably hot.

    • @bankruptpensioner
      @bankruptpensioner  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Evan, thanks for the comment. Yes, I can understand what you say. I will be testing it out in 2024 to see if it does leak. Hopefully not! 😆

      Hi Sinclair, many thanks for the comment. I too looked at bad reports however, there are also may good reports. The reason for this tent is its simplicity and I thought it was worth a go. I will be going out in the tent over the next few weeks, hopefully on a windy and wet weekend. This will confirm if the tent does let water in. Hi Susan, mine did not come with an extra ground sheet. You must be the lucky one however, I do not see a reason to have an extra ground sheet as I have had no issues with the built in ground sheet. Are you having problems erecting the tent? Watch the video and replicate my actions. Use your thumbs to push down the struts at the top of the tent. Tell me how you go on 👍

  • @CliveJohnson804

    The problem with the tent and this goes for any tent is when the sidewall touches the gound sheet it will leak. So get the stupid 3 seconds out of your head and put it up properly to cut down on this problem.

    Not waterproof leaks in side around the edges also rain on top where little fly sheet goes puddles in the middle if rain blowing left or right sent it back for a replacement for another to be even worse than the first one for leaks used tent for night fishing

      That's interesting, I too am 5 10. And it seems ok. Any taller, i can see your point. I can also understand your point that having 3 in the tent would be very cosy and condensation would be a problem.

    If you can't put up a standard tent, you have no business camping. I have one of these types in a dining tent with screen configuration. It's bigger and a royal pain in the butt to put up and take down. Plus, it's heavy as hell.
    A tent should be 3 things. Light, compact and weather proof. Ease of putting up is the least important, but most are fairly simple in any case with a bit of practice. This thing is the answer to nobody's problem.

      You are right Steve, however, I can confirm that I have tested it in the wet, and real wet. It worked fine and did not leak. I am using it again for the weekend at the ABR and to be fair, the weather looks good so no issues with rain I guess. I should satisfy my stay at Ragley Hall, UK

    Tentmakers must be losing money by not producing 1-person tents, I mean if 2 people go camping they'll share a 2-person tent, but if 1-person version was available they'd buy one each because it'd be lighter and there'd be no room for a stinking friend to push in..:)
