Taylor from Fort Worth: Another option is to go to school and start working on baby making during your 2nd year of school. School becomes much harder later in life when you have kids at home.
I graduated with my masters degree while pregnant with my first child at age 27! That worked for me. We had 5 children including the last one at age 43!!! We are so blessed!
I am grateful to the people who adopted me I was not an infant. I was an abused 3 year old..never needed counseling..I'm successful. My kids are successful.....just saying..
I can agree with everyone who saying have kids early sounds fantastic, but remember one thing one absolute very, very, very important thing. You better have the money for it!
Kathy from Indianapolis: You are not a good listener. You run to your daughter's home and have broken your marriage vows to "love and honor" your spouse. I'm not saying your spouse hasn't done the same but it sounds like you have checked-out of the marriage. Like Dave said, you have bigger problems than deciding your investment mix.
Yes. And being gone from your home for so much time?! Talk about stifling a marriage. Your #1 emotional priority is your partner. Not your kids. Obviously we really aren’t getting the full story here but still
The woman at who has been married 41 years doesn't listen, certainly to Dave and my guess is that she doesn't listen or hear her husband. She's incredibly irritating. I'm a woman & she's irritating me
To the nurse... coming from an NP who graduated np school, had a baby and started my first np job when he was 12 weeks old....do both!! You can start a program, eif you get pregnant, can pause or go part time. Some schools will give you five years to complete. Some you can do part time. Right now you can also make more as a med surgery nurse then an NP!
While i can appreciate classics, especially if it was a restoration project, there is a reason average vehicle mileage has increased with time. Cars are no longer ticking time bombs once the odometer hits 70k miles. The odometers used to roll over at 99,999 because they didnt think it would make it that far
I don’t believe any of these people who call in with millions talking about buying Lambos. No way would someone who listens to Dave call in with such a ridiculous question.
I think they just wanna boast. I guess I’m not a car person. If I had $3.3 million in net worth I wouldn’t spend that much money on any car. I think what he should’ve asked him was how much on your mortgage, do you have. Because he has a mortgage.
Well he’s 39, net worth of over 2.5 and makes 300+. You don’t get to age 40 with 2.5 making 300 and not once overspend on lifestyle. Making 300+ you should have more than 2.9 by then. Keep in mind after liabilities dude had less than 2.
You better be careful cashing out those policies may be tax consequences to your parents. If they haven't paid into the policy compared to what you borrowed that's taxable
Yeah, I don't believe I would do it if I were in his situation. Lol of course I also don't have the net worth he does either. I would definitely pay off the mortgage in his situation.
Personally I think he should buy the car. It's $250,000 and he's worth $3.6 Million. It's 7% of his net worth for something which he wants to buy and enjoy. I don't care if it's more than 50% of his income, he's obviously worked hard to have that net worth at 39 and has earnt it.
Taylor finished the 2 years Before having babies. You'll be able to study & learn in peace without interruptions. Postpartum is no joke And Postpartum is different for every woman
Taylor girl if you are reading this from one nurse to another don't wait to start your family. I currently work as an RN, and in school pursuing my NP. I have a 3 month old. I had a baby while in school for my prerequisites for nursing school. I had a second baby while enrolled in the BSN program, and as I stated just delivered a new baby in September. I only have one year of school left to achieve my NP. You will NEVER regret starting your family. It has given me more drive to complete my dreams for them, and I know in the show you stated you and your husband are 28. I'm 34. You can do it. Don't forget most NP programs (and quality programs) are 100% online with the exception of your clinicals. Good luck!
58 year old Taylor...would be happier going to school until the pregnancy happens...It might take 2 years...She is getting older considering chance of getting pregnant.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Just like he said you don't have any control on when that baby comes. You can plan but you can't plan the outcome. Go to school and start trying for a baby next year.
Whole life insurance guy, I’m close to 100% sure, was using this platform to SELL whole life. He did his best to make it seem like a GREAT INVESTMENT!!! lol of course, Dave probably knew as well
Go to school after having kids? It’s not impossible but we all know it’s much harder specially for women !!! Girl, finish school first and you will never to worry about it anymore, nor will have to leave your kids to go to school !!
I disagree. I am currently a nurse and in school for my NP. I have one year left and just had my THIRD child. She is 3 months old. She won't have to leave her kids to go to school. Most NP schools are 100% online now with the exception of clinicals. Taylor can easily achieve her NP degree while starting a family. MSN programs are usually 24 months 9 of the months she'll be expecting, and the degree is practically over with by then. Do it Taylor!! You got this girl, get it out of the way. By the time the kids are born you can decide to only work 1-2 days as a NP and get more money w/o breaking your back doing floor nursing.
She could do it online or go back once the kids are in school. Don’t take your fertility for granted, our friends are both 28 and dealing with infertility.
One thing I learned in life… I waste time in the womb, I shoulda brought a home in 2008 but now with the price of inflation it’s insane. For all the baby still being developed try to push yourself out faster to start investing.
For the nurse, please go back to school and get your NP degree. It will be so much more difficult having a child and then trying to go back to school. What if you want a second child a year or 2 or 3 after the 1st one? School will only be 2 years, you can almost double your current salary, you'll only be 30 when you start to have a child. The faster you can make higher wages, the better long-term financially and personally. I love Dave to death, but I'll have to disagree on this one.
i'm doing but just not getting it , i am trying ti avoid the negativity that seems ti be flowung more consistently across financial ,credit , honorary fat man money , what is the life lesson in working to make someone else a comforrable retirement , that's my taje on my current specialized job not really a job it's like an advance home eck job like in a deli .
I don’t understand why that guy can’t live with his parents more than 3 months - I would live there a year and pay off the debt, save up a solid nest egg.
I told my kids to stay at home as long as they want to save $. Then move out, get a roommate, get married, etc. leave with a great investment and money stashed away.
Don’t wait to have children. I’m 27 with a 1 year old and it’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to us. You also need a lot of energy, and if you plan on having more than 1 you need time to recover between pregnancies and allow yourself to breastfeed if you can/want. Also, we have friends that are just 28, dealing with infertility. As a woman, it becomes harder after 30, and after 35 it becomes higher risk. Have your babies, work and go to school later.
I was wondering why she said "only 30." I know a 30-year-old who just had her 7th kid with the same husband of 15 or so years. So she had that option to stop at any time and be done by 30. If you wait until 30, you lose some options. I only say this from observation of her and other families. I'm single and have no kids of my own (hosted a few high school exchange students).
