20buckspin has some good bands on their label. I recently discovered Worm. Their 2022 ep "bluenothing" took a similar turn, adding a more melodic vibe to their sound. Their previous album "foreverglade" was less melodic but primal and enjoyed it just the same.
Starpath heads even further in a direction where the melodic “background” instruments are pushed to the foreground in a way that just really works for me. Probably my favorite project of theirs yet
OSDM isn't my go to style (that'd be thrash or epic metal), so a 30 minute album is a good length if I'm craving some death. Another dm band im excited has an april release is Necrot.
Great review for a killer band that everyone should check out if they have even the slightest interest in filthy old school death metal. Hope they hit the stage this year, I saw them in the Bottomless Grave era and they ripped the place apart.
Blayne, you're excitement is uncontainable, swears, wrong months LOL. I have to shout out a suggestion from Banger reviewer Riley, Condemned to the Breaking Wheel by Ischemic. Some fantastic Canadian blackened death doom!
I've already listened to those albums: Replicant - Infinite Mortality Dissonant and groovy death? yes. Baron - Beneath the Blazing Abyss (yes) fantastic slow death (or fast death/doom, depending on the songs) Verikalpa - Tuomio Perfect folk metal! (dicovered on metal monthly) Beholder - Dualisme another quebec city black metal gem! VIVE LE QUÉBEC LIBRE! just kidding, I'm not a separatist! can you imagine... ew Tarot - Glimpse of the Dawn Impressive hard rock, from the land down under, à la deep purple but with a more modern production, but still sounds super old school Selbst - Despondency Chord Progressions Incredible black metal from chili (originaly from venezuela). its raw and dissonant but majestic, melancholic and melodic Nuclear Tomb - Terror Labyrinthian (yes) Spectacular prog death/thrash, just by the cover art, I knew it was gonna be good! Tonnerre - La nuit sauvage Incredible, brilliant, 10/10 hard rock with cauchemar’s singer Annick Giroux
Discovered these guys with their last album, gotta say I'm glad I got this one on vinyl. An easy recommendation would be Demigod's Slumber of Sullen Eyes.
Just because they're consistent doesn't mean they're generic or repetitive... He literally talks about how they've evolved their sound enough to appeal to new fans
@@aarononon this whole album was just one long song. It was repetitive and generic because there's a lot of bands out there with this same sound but doing it better.
@@ThatOneGuy7550 have you not listened to it? It's Judas Priest. They don't really need a niche RUclips channel to review their album for everyone to know about it and whether or not they like it.
@@bobbyellis5006 they have stated they would review it...? and they haven't. it's not really above bangertv to discriminate between big and small releases. I don't see why they can't?
Honestly, and this is timely, this album reminds me a lot of another band releasing an album this month: Necrot.
it reminds me of a doomier sounding necrot for sure
Great review guy from At The Gates.

I love the BM turn in Bluenothing. Amazing album

Is that castle on the cover anywhere near the location for Immortal's At the Heart of Winter?
I think it's not a castle but a mausoleum

Worm.
@@MNmarrow Are you sure? I meant the band that is also on the poster on the back.
Yep! Both are the same logo, from the "Foreverglade" era of Worm.

If this album was longer than 30 minutes it would over stay its welcome. Ive listened to it twice. Its not a bad album but it isnt amazing either

Why does Banger keep reviewing albums no one cares about. They didn't review Invincible Shield

they said they would review it but they never did, I get wanting to spotlight smaller bands but they aren't even talking about the big releases
