I own both of these movies on DVD. They're both really fun to watch. As an adult, I enjoy the first one more. But as a fan, I enjoy the second one more.
Scooby-Doo is basically why I got into another horror franchise called Scream. Scream is basically an adult version of Scooby-Doo. Both rely on mystery, humor, suspects and whose behind the mask. The villians also have a motive as to why they did what they did, like Scooby-Doo. The only difference is that the killers unmask themselves instead of the characters unmasking them. But other than that, both franchises are very similar.
Fun Fact for the 1st One. For Mondavarious (Rowan Atkinson’s character), Tim Curry was originally considered for the role. He would’ve loved to do this just because he’s a massive SD fan. Only for him to drop out because Scrappy was in this. A character he absolutely despised. I guess the Scrappy hate goes strong. Quick question for Al; will the gang rip off Palpatine’s face in Episode 9?

I also like how these movies are somewhat connected to the classic cartoons, especially the the second.

That’s a really good observation. I’ve gotten really into the Scream movies this year and that comparison absolutely works
Yes, it does indeed
Scream 3 took inspiration from Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo: Camp Scare/Stage Fright took inspiration from Scream.

Great question. I’ll make sure to ask Al Sangius next time he randomly appears in my closet.
