out of all these monsters not seen in the final movie, I really do wish we would've seen Chickenstein come to life. Especially since he was set up at the beginning, could've made a good callback to it later in the movie and I just would've loved to see him interact with the gang, especially Shaggy and Scooby. He looks so cool too!
The voice sounds perfect in my opinion, humourous but still somewhat menacing and the fact he's carrying around a cleaver or whatever that knife what just adds to it Honestly, would've preferred Chickenstein to Miner 49r, honestly. Never really been a fan of that one
I think there were quite a few costumes that weren't brought to life. It's such a shame too, since some of the other monsters had merchandise like trading cards or something like that (Chickenstein, Headless Horseman, the Witch, Ghost Clown, etc.)
Very true! A part of us feels like it’d be similar but with a larger scale. There’s concept art of a load of monsters running through the cars during the scene where the evil masked figure is in the ghost ship so maybe it’d be like that
@sebas people are to judgemental, they cherry pic little things, same thing with the 2 Fantastic 4 movie from the 2000's they say they were terrible, but that's BS.
I loved the first movie because of its original take around the classic Scooby doo cartoon and made it more on the nose of how real monsters can’t actually come to life by some creepy ritual. But the second one is just as good because it goes back to the original cartoon and uses science to recreate the classic monsters from the cartoon and actually bringing them to life.
@@matthewwisdom9933 people wouldn’t get a chance to see these at all if it wasn’t for us and our interview with Peter Crosman 🤷 slow down the video on the RUclips settings and be more grateful that this isn’t lost media like it would have been without us
the Ghost of Elias Kingston, the Ghost Clown, Redbeard's Ghost, the Ghost of the Creeper, the Tiki Witch Doctor, the Headless horseman, the Ozark Witch, Chickenstein
So the monsters that were planned to be brought to life but got removed due to budget constraints are the ozark Witch , The ghost clown, The headless horseman, redbirds ghost, Chicken stein, The creeper, And the mortician. As well as the witch doctor. This would have been interesting to see them in the film as well but if Lego and warner brothers ever collabed again I hope they make a video game based on Scooby-Doo 2 and include other monsters that were scrapped from the film.
I think a really cool idea is a game based off of James Gunn's films, the first episode is based off of the first film, the second is the second film, and the third is the second film from the villains perspective, and the minikits are minifigures of monsters not featured in the films.
If you don’t know, though, the Tiki witch doctor is one of the Hawaiian episodes and they tend to just reuse that motif for whenever they’re in Hawaii, which is odd because we do have mythical creatures that are supposed to be a mischievous or malicious creature and unlike some creatures in the indigenous American culture that if you use the creature, it could bring bad luck there are some in Hawaiian and Polynesian culture where they’re not gonna give you bad luck if you use them because like a good example are the kakamora And canonically spooky island is somewhere near Fiji, even though it was filmed in Australia, but they were kind of being vague anyway

Looking back on Monsters Unleashed, it confuses me why some costumes were present, yet never turned into real monsters in the movie? Like Creeper, Red Beard, and Chickenstein.
I imagine all of these monsters would have been used in the segment when they take over the city. I always remembered being curious as to what happened to the rest of the stolen costumes and who the Ghost Pirate Ship downtown belonged to. Makes sense that Red Beard was among the scrapped villains.
We think they would have been naturally integrated the same way as the 10K Volt Ghost etc, except perhaps there would have been more of a spotlight on practical monsters instead of the CGI ones we got, however, 100% after the decision was made to scrap these monsters in that capacity we would have loved to have seen them make a short cameo running in between the cars during the Pirate Ship scene or something. Definitely a real missed opportunity
Fun fact, the monster that is the pumpkin is actually one of the few criminals from Scooby Doo that has committed a murder in the original run of the Scooby Doo cartoon
Some of the actors for this played in Thir13ten Ghosts John DeSantis who played chickenstein also did Juggernaut, and C. Ernest Harth who played miner 49 also played the great child.

2:17 Yes, the Scooby Doo 2 Monsters unleashed Nintendo game Boy advance video game had the Ghost clown, the Ghost of the Creeper, the Tiki Witch Doctor, the Headless horseman, and the Ozark Witch.
If the Evil Masked Figure turned all the costumes into active ghosts instead of some, it would be a Ghostbusters-level threat because the Scooby Gang couldn't handle real ghosts. If only Scrappy Doo and the rest of Scooby's family would show up to help the gang, it would have been awesome.

Not only this is cool, but the Scooby-Doo franchise should do a costume department store to make these outfits. Giving the costumes from the franchise a way to translate into real life. In a deleted scene of the museum, I saw Space Kook. Looked scary and realistic despite being a costume. Looking at this footage makes me wish they revamped Monsters Unleashed. Either in a graphic animation format or a live-action series based on it. A way to expand the concept. The plot would be dealing with the gang trying to capture the monsters that have been brought to life and turning them back into costumes one at a time. Using a device to contain them and turn them back. Almost a ghostbusters and goosebumps type of situation. I did like Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed. Just wish the monsters from the shows or the movies had some spotlight in the future. The possibility of them coming to life and changes to their design showed an interesting idea in it. Just theories and thoughts to consider. Thanks to anyone who reads this.
I am fascinated with the monster costumes in the movie I even researched who are they are supposed to be I only want know more about the Warrior Queen.
OK, these either need to be 1. Uploaded WITHOUT fast-forward (like on any of Peter's social media platforms) or 2. Added to a new DVD/Blu-Ray of the movie. (& if there's any other stuff like this)

That's one Black Haired Ghost in blue clothing might be the Ghost Milo Booth, or also possibly the Ghost Racer from The Scooby Doo Show! But I wished we had someone portraying the Ghost of the Ozark Witch in this Movie with more scenes of her in the Scooby doo 2 Monsters Unleashed Film!
No, the ghost of Milo Booth is in the museum and looks nothing like that, neigther does the Phantom Racer. He is called the Mortician for some reason, but it's based on the ghost of Elias Kingston.
Yeah and they should put in the half bald monster guy with the jet black hair Owen monster mermaid gilgun with the green ghost and red beard and the creeper and Tiki witch doctor and a ghost clown and the Ozark witch and Captain Cutler minor 39er the zombie space kook and that football skeleton player and the two skeleton and Dr cliffin and finally chickenStein
Monsters Unleashed has some of the best costume design I've seen in a movie. It's crazy, right? I love all of the patterns... Also, I love that cut scene where the Black Knight Ghost and 10,000 Volt Ghost break into the museum.
Wow thanks you so much for making more of your videos and for making this video especially this video I got the chills when watching this right now at night and I have to say the creeper is really huge I wonder why some of these monsters got removed does it clarify or does it really says why they got removed because they were really good and they could have made the movie much longer I really would love to loved the giggling green ghost
Exactly. Matthew Lillard agreed the sequel was better than the first film. Having Mystery Inc. face against their old foes but with them being brought to life was a genius idea.
Of all the monsters they cut, *The Creeper??* That character has come back time and time again, and is more or less considered the “main nemesis” to Scooby because of his reoccurrence in the series.
"Why'd the chicken cross the road?? To rip off your faces and eat your brains, i want a lil' Southern Fried Scooby!!!" God damn that goes hard, i really wish they kept that in the movie, even if Chickenstien wasn't a main villain, it'd still be cool to see Velma or whoever bump into him and turn around and say that perfect line, lol
it was soo disappointing they never used the spooky space kook. one of the villains I wanted to see actually in the film. also who was the pumpkin monster??
I imagine if they used the Space Kook, it would be a mix of CGI (skull) and practical effects (the body) and that they would reuse the Luna Ghost/Spooky Island Castle Jester laugh sound effect from the first movie for its laugh
Why? Why were these cut? The costumes were already done, many of them had setups earlier in the movie, and each looked great. There was absolutely no reason as to why these didn’t make it.
I wish they included this in the bonus features. It would have been so cool to see the Creeper brought to life. Imagine him and Zombie together for something. And since Velma was with Chickenstein for that footage, I guess he would get back at her for calling a ridiculous villain. I am glad they changed up Miner 49er. He looked more like a ghost from Eddie Murphy’s Haunted Mansion. I wish the Ghost Clown’s suit was red like from the show, along with his hair being black. But if they kept him in the movie, kids like me and my sister would have been terrified.
Honestly, agree with most of this. We feel like it was a little bit of an oversight to not have swapped the Zombie with the Creeper given that the budget for both would have been pretty similar and function the same too
@@JayBeeMilly I think the reason why they decided to go with Zombie is so they could have him barf on the news reporter. Plus with the Creeper's massive hands, he would have easily grabbed Scooby when going under his legs thus preventing his pants dropping and revealing his underwear. I also think we could have gotten to see more of the classic Scooby Doo monsters if they didn't put money on creating monsters that weren't on the show like the Mermaid, The Mortician, and the Cotton Candy Glob. Don't get me wrong, they were cool looking monsters. But it also makes me wonder about the Cotton Candy Glob's history. After Scooby and Shaggy eat him, Shaggy says "Finally! A villain we can eat!" That makes it seem like they never faced the villain before. In addition, how did even defeat the Cotton Candy Glob when it was originally a guy in a suit if Scooby and Shaggy didn't eat him? Still though, I am glad with the monsters we did get to see. Like having the Black Knight Ghost since that is the first villain we ever saw for Scooby Doo. And Captain Cutler's Ghost is one of my favorites. If they did feature the Ghost Clown, imagine if they had him hypnotizing a bunch of people to do what the Evil Mask Figure says. Or even seeing the Green Ghosts flying all over the city. It also would have been interesting if Mr. Wickles, C.L. Magnus, Aggie Wilkins, and Timmy saw their monster costumes be brought to life. Mostly with Timmy in which he would see the Cotton Candy Glob waaaaay bigger than it was as the costume. Having Warner Bros. bring back the original villains and literally bringing them to life to become real monsters for Mystery Inc. to face was a genius idea.
The guy you kept calling Voodoo guy is the Witch Doctor from a Tiki Scare is No Fair. And the guy you kept calling the Pirate guy is Redbeard's Ghost, and he totally should've been in the movie since his ship was in the movie. Also the Ghost Clown's appearance served us as a warning for the 2016 evil clown attacks.
Ohh wow I guess if they added these all in the film would of been very long with the mystery of the evil masked figure so it probably would of be a different movie lol
@@tomaz2215 But people were talking about a Scooby Doo Goosebumps crossover, I'm typing it up, but I'm spicing it up with a touch of Stephen King, a pinch of True Blood, and a dash of my own monsters with monsters my parents created.
We doubt that a little bit just because in order to have the computer animation in place it would all have been scripted and planned out beforehand. There's definitely a chance though and a pretty great question we should ask in a follow up

it was soo disappointing they never used the spooky space kook. one of the villains I wanted to see actually in the film. also who was the pumpkin monster??
The Headless Horseman from Season 1 of The Scooby Doo Show.
I imagine if they used the Space Kook, it would be a mix of CGI (skull) and practical effects (the body) and that they would reuse the Luna Ghost/Spooky Island Castle Jester laugh sound effect from the first movie for its laugh
@@jackielantern6 true
He showed up in the museum, at least. Definitely a shame he was never brought to life on screen though.
I'd imagine Gilbert Gottfried providing the laughing effect for the space kook if they planned to bring that costume to life too
Why? Why were these cut? The costumes were already done, many of them had setups earlier in the movie, and each looked great. There was absolutely no reason as to why these didn’t make it.
Creative differences I'm sure
This is so amazing to see, thanks for sharing it with the world
They could have shown up at the pirate ship scene terrorizing the town
Still waiting for hbo to do like an R Rated Live action Scooby Doo show based off the original cartoon
Scooby Doo 2 Monsters unleashed had this warrior Queen, and she wasn't from any of the past in the Scooby Doo franchise.
Damn they should have used The Creeper&Ghost Clown
Oh my God Giant chicken to what you don't see these days
I would have like to see the other monsters to come to life in the movie
Like who?
@@alissameade-fields9615 The Ghost of Dr. Coffin and the Rambling Ghost
Ohh wow I guess if they added these all in the film would of been very long with the mystery of the evil masked figure so it probably would of be a different movie lol
Shame lot of the monsters wont brought alive, like the creeper
I wish they put these monsters in Goosebumps 2 Haunted Halloween
wrong franchise mate
@@tomaz2215 But people were talking about a Scooby Doo Goosebumps crossover, I'm typing it up, but I'm spicing it up with a touch of Stephen King, a pinch of True Blood, and a dash of my own monsters with monsters my parents created.
More of a Jack-O'lantrun Ghost monster than a Headless horseman. 3:18
He should been in the film
I bet all the other deleted Monsters were made by computer animation.
We doubt that a little bit just because in order to have the computer animation in place it would all have been scripted and planned out beforehand. There's definitely a chance though and a pretty great question we should ask in a follow up
The ghost clown and green ghost would of given kids nightmares.
Or The Parents Too
the mortician was actually the Ghost of Elias Kingston
I don't hate zombie but they should've just gone with the creeper instead of zombie
Did they ever have anyone as the Mermaid Ghost for Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed!
I knew she beautiful and new was new completely new despite her being new they didn't used her
4:56 which monster is that
It ghost of Elias kingston
I have 2 fan edits of the first film full movie with the deleted scenes edited in
