- Bonn / Germany is a city near Cologne at the Rhine river. From 1949 to 1990, Bonn was the capital of West Germany. Bonn is also known for being the Birthplace of the composer Beethoven
Further attractions are Bonn Minster and the pink-and-gold old townhall "Altes Rathaus". We will visit the central city on this tour and start at the train station.
First we walk from south of the city center on the Poststraße and then stroll around to see many of the squares, the Sterntor and even the pass the Birthplace of Beethoven.
After around 38½ minutes the rain gets the camera wet so we take out the umbrella. We walk back through a rainy Bonn and arrive soon at the train station, where we end this tour.

Yeah, it didn't fit in that rainy day. You can see the Rhine on the Koblenz walk, recorded on the same day. There are also videos of Cologne and Düsseldorf which all have some river parts.. Yes, the Rhine is nice yet on that day in September 2020 I was a bit on a rush (with rainy weather). For some background story: I stayed near Cologne, went to Bonn to film that walk there and continued to Koblenz ( ruclips.net/video/jnCck_QFOHs/видео.html ). Koblenz was even rainier so I continued to Wiesbaden in the evening - all by train. I hope to return sometime in summer to show a bit more apart from the city center. The videos here on the channel are often made in a rush. Sometimes I record 2 or even 3 per day to get the best variety as traveling was limited. Bonn was surprisingly nice. Thanks for watching!
@@poptravelorg Oh ok I understand. The Rhine in Bonn is a lot nicer than in Cologne because you have the panorama of the Siebengebirge mountains.
Next time I also recommend you to visit Poppelsdorfer Allee + Schloss and the Südstadt district (beautiful Wilhelminian style district). :)

Ja, der Rhein fehlt hier. Das Wetter und meine Zeit passte nicht ganz. Ich fuhr an dem Tag weiter nach Koblenz ( ruclips.net/video/jnCck_QFOHs/видео.html ) und hoffe, dass es mit Bonn (und Koblenz) bald nochmal bei Sonnenschein klappt.

Indeed, that's what several people commented. In this day though I only left my luggage at the train station before continuing to Koblenz. The rainy weather and lack of time made the walk how it is. A return to Bonn is on the list

Do you know if the Altes Rathaus is free to visit ?
I haven't found entry prices on their website: altes-rathaus-bonn.de/ - Maybe some local has better info. Usually public buildings are without entry fees but have some limited opening hours for sightseeing
Weren't you allowed to visit the Beethoven - House ?
I didn't plan to go inside the Beethoven house actually. Usually it's a bit of a problem to enter museums etc. with buying an entry ticket with no hand free. Sometimes there is also a no film/photo policy to respect. I'll maybe see another time. On that particular day I continued to Koblenz after Boon and finally arrived in Wiesbaden at night. Rainy but nice day
