  • Have you tried gouache paint for doll faceups? Did you know something as simple as how you store your gouache paint can drastically change how it looks on your doll?
    I've had a lot of people reach out to me on social media lately, asking for additional information on how to use gouache and make the most of its dynamic opacity, as well as seeking tips for conquering some common gouache problems. I made a list of the things people asked about most frequently, and now I'll go over some of the benefits of gouache, as well as share some information on how to make the most of this fantastic artistic medium!
    How can you control the opacity of your paint just by changing where you keep it?
    How can you keep it from breaking up and turning grainy on a doll?
    What's the right way to reactivate dried gouache paint?
    Does the water-soluble nature of gouache make faceups more delicate?
    Give it a watch and you'll find out!

    I have a question =/ I stopped using flow aid, because I couldn't re-activate my gouache anymore. Now I'm wondering if I used one that shouldn't be used with watercolours...? I thought "well, it doesn't react weirdly, so I guess it is fine". Maybe I should try and get the liquitex one then

      I haven't had any issues with Liquitex's flow aid, and it's the only one I've used thus far... Does it refuse to reactivate with anything, or is it just with the flow aid mix? If it reactivates with plain water, you can definitely use regular water and then add in a bit of the flow aid. I do find you can dilute flow aid a lot more than it recommends and still get great results with water-based paints.

    Was it hard choosing and getting the head sculpts for kid Vahn?

      It actually wasn't too bad! Fortunately, I had friends looking out for me, so even though Karsh is a discontinued and sought-after sculpt, they helped me get both heads easily.

    Thank you for the video! How do you store your ceramic palette? I worry about dust etc getting in, but also mould growing if no airflow so wondering what has worked for you?

      @LomisPlayground  5 месяцев назад +1

      I just keep mine on a shelf! It sits on top of a box of other paints so there's a good inch or two of air flow around it, but not much room for dust to settle on it. No problems so far.

      @@LomisPlayground thank you! Super helpful can't wait to give my gouache another try. So to be clear you don't have a lid of any sort over the top?
