*I see Carrie loves this recipe too. She just gave a pecking kiss to Stephanie's island in agreement. These Mexican Wedding's Cakes are scrumptiously delicious!.Merry Christmas Everyone!*
Stephanie, these cookies are delicious! My mom used to make these and they literally melt in your mouth. I remember being newly married (41 years ago) and making these for my husband. I didn't know how to bake or cook back then and when he got home from work and tasted them he thought I'd purchased them from a bakery. I will use your recipe for the batch I make for Christmas because every recipe you share is truly the best! Thanks for reminding me of how easy and scrumptious these cookies are. Happy holidays!
I've loved these since I used to get them at the neighborhood bakery before walking home from school. These look delicious and another to add to my holiday cookie dish.
Stephanie! you are brilliant at what you do! i love your videos and your simple straightforward style of presentation! i'm an experienced baker and i've really enjoyed so many of your recipes! Made these last night and they were phenomenal. I gave some to my 90 year old neighbour and i got a call 2 minutes later telling me how wonderful they are. My kids are making powdered sugar mess as i type! Thank you!
My grandmother would bake these cookies every Christmas 🎄💞along with her pecan pies. 😋 When I had my own place I'd make sure to take some home with me! They were addictive.
Hi Miss Stephanie! I've never made these before; I'm getting ideas for my Christmas 🎄 Cookie Gifts and have decided on this one, as one of them I will make to give out! They're Pretty, tasty, delicate and very "Christmasy!"🎄⛄❄️ TY for sharing! .... Kathy, from Springfield, Missouri ❤️
Hi Beautiful Stephanie!!💜❤💖 I didn't have any electronics for a while. I miss you💓😊 you always brighten up my Day!❤ thank you for spending time with me for the holidays. 🌲💖🎁 God Bless you always! I love you❤💓💜
I must tell you I made your Dundee recipe and it came out picture perfect I shot a picture to a family member and they asked if it was store brought..it was a lot to put together but well worth it .I’ll have to wait for a taste.happy holidays to you and all who visit your channel.
There's no place like my kitchen. There's no place like my kitchen. There's no place like my kitchen. Well, it was worth a try but I still have three guys here replacing the water heater. So kitchen is not accessible for a while longer. Doesn't stop me from me making these cookies. If not today, this weekend. Love recipes with pecans!
Joy, I used to bake so many cookies before Christmas and store them in tins to enjoy well after the holidays as well, this was one that I always would make, so delicate and melt-in-your-mouth heavenly. 😇
Tasty recipe! Thank you very much Stephanie! Shortbread is always delicious! And I love Carrie checking on you! Thank you for the lovely shot! Kind regards!
Isn the past, I've had poor results processing my nuts in the food processor, they get gummy. Your tip of adding some flour is brilliant! Again, your expertise is appreciated.
It’s similar to our Lebanese cookies which we call Maamoul and it comes in three different kinds - wallnut, pistachios and dates. Instead of normal flour, we use for it semolina ... hope you could try sometime or if needed, I could arrange to forward the recipe 😊😋
Perfect pre-Christmas recipe. I'm thinking about pressing them lightly into coloured sugar as many don't want to have powdered sugar all over their mouths. Tip: For anyone using a Christmas green/red coloured sugar for anything. Buy 2x the amount of red as to green b/c the red doesn't show up very well.
Thank you Stephanie! I made this a month ago for the first time and they were so delicious and super easy to make 😋 I was also able to share them with my neighbor. I used walnuts instead of pecans. I love watching your recipes as I made several now (your pecan pie and ricotta cheesecake). Cheers from the 🇺🇸.
I make this all these time.. for gifts, special occasions or just because my daughter wants some . Thank you Stephane. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's to you and your family.
I’ve made these before (using your recipe of course!) and they are so good. I plan on giving cookies this holiday for my coworkers and this will be on my list. Thank you, Stephanie. Hello Roxie! ❤️
I think they are as same as Greek wedding cookies, Kourabiedes. I had ever made them before. I still want to try your version since your recipes are always good..
This looks iiiintresting despite the fact that I'm supposed to be doing a major art project rn. Ima watch Btw Stephanie (hope I spelt your name right) your hair looks nice today/ in the vid
Hi Stephanie! I’ve been following you for 2 years now. I’ve baked a lot of your recipes already and they all turned out great. Surely, this one will be an addition to the list. Could you try two of filipino desserts I like which are sans rival and/or silvanas? Both have nuts just like the one you just baked but this one has meringue and buttercream which also melts in the mouth. It would be nice watching you featuring this yummy desserts . Thanks
They are a great treat. The cookie dough itself has very little sugar( powdered) and then some more gets sifted over after baking. But by no means are these tooth achingly sweet! there's much more fat in here than sugar...and worth every calorie!
One of my favorite cookies. My mom makes them for Easter. Your pates are so pretty. Are they Polish or Eastern European by any chance? They look like the expensive Polish ceramic plates and cups you can buy.
If you weighed the flour the only things I can think of is the batter needs to be mixed more or they need to be baked less. Also these cookies do crumble when they are hot.
I always have trouble getting my Mexican wedding cakes to be round. I know the laws of physics mean they won’t be round like a ball, but I would like them to be rounder than they come out. I search the internets every holiday season looking for tips. I still make them of course, they’re so delicious, just want them to look nicer, aka rounder.
[1] How do you freeze them? All together in a Ziploc? or wrapped separately? [2] How to thaw them after being frozen? In the fridge or outside, and for how long? Many thanks.
Hi! In Greece this similar recipe - using almonds either chopped or not) we call them " kourambiedes" and it's the most tradional sweet during christmas period. If you want i can share the recipe.
*I see Carrie loves this recipe too. She just gave a pecking kiss to Stephanie's island in agreement. These Mexican Wedding's Cakes are scrumptiously delicious!.Merry Christmas Everyone!*
I make that same cookie with pecans, finely ground toasted coconut and finely chopped chocolate. Delicious!
MMMmmmm that also sounds Awesome 😊 Thanks for the inspiration 👍🌹

These are my favorite Christmas cookies. My grandma used to roll the dough around a candied cherry, which was good, but I prefer them without.
Oooh these are sooo delicious, they melt in your mouth 😋❤ Thank you for the video 💋
I love to make them. I am going to try your recipe. I sure miss your last kitchen. It was so friendly.

All good in all but still Mexicans invented them powered cookies and that is why they are Mexican Wedding Cookies!
Excellent recipe, I’m from Mexico, here we call them “Besos de nuez”

i tried them with hazelnuts and they blew my mind! i usually use walnuts and pecans for baking, but i made an exception here...boy was i glad!
Think that was the cookie my grandmother made a very long time ago 🤗🤗👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You were brave wearing your dark blue when using so much icing sugar! Great cookies for Christmas!
Just made some. You have the best recipes. Thanks!😁

Mmm they look delicious Stephanie.🥰🤤
Tku Joy. Will keep baking them. 😊
In Indonesia we call them Snow Princes (Putri Salju), we use peanut or cashew or canary nut.
It’s SO nice seeing you 💕
Never heard of these before, I bet they are super sweet. Kettles on by the way! 💐💐

My family always called these Italian wedding cookies.

One of my favorite cookies. My mom makes them for Easter.
Your pates are so pretty. Are they Polish or Eastern European by any chance? They look like the expensive Polish ceramic plates and cups you can buy.
Nice One
I hv trouble with the cookies crumbling. I thought I did what you showed, but they still crumbled. Can u help pls? I do chill batter. Tku
If you weighed the flour the only things I can think of is the batter needs to be mixed more or they need to be baked less. Also these cookies do crumble when they are hot.
Looks easy enough
Good job
These are actually called “besitos de nuez” 😊at least that is how we know them in Mexico 🇲🇽 😊
I always have trouble getting my Mexican wedding cakes to be round. I know the laws of physics mean they won’t be round like a ball, but I would like them to be rounder than they come out. Yes unfortunately they do flatten at bit in the oven.

Wowww👍👍
Thank you👍
Love it ✨❤️
[1] How do you freeze them? All together in a Ziploc? or wrapped separately?
[2] How to thaw them after being frozen? In the fridge or outside, and for how long?
Many thanks.
I just freeze them all together. You can thaw them out on the counter in about 1/2 hour.
@@joyofbaking Many thanks for the answer!

Gonna make these Sunday. I had problems with the Buck Eyes. The chocolate wouldn’t firm up. Ugh
Because the chocolate isn't tempered, you need to refrigerate the Buckeyes for the chocolate to harden.
What type of butter is good for these. Can you use European butter or is American butter better?
You can use either type in this recipe.
@@joyofbaking Thank you
I'd just leave them without rolling them in icing sugar. They are just delicious without more sugar
1 tsp of vanilla extract per grams of what? Thank you.

hi mark good vey
Can you use almond flour instead?
You can replace some of the all purpose flour with almond flour.
@@joyofbaking thank you 😊
Should add mini choc chips
You didn’t mentioned peanuts. Can I use peanuts?
Yes.
Thank you for your reply.
Is this the same melting moments recipe?
Melting moments don't use nuts. Otherwise it is the same.
Why you don't put the ingredients list??????
In the description box there is a link to the written recipe. All written recipes can be found on our website joyofbaking.com
🥰🥰🥰🥰Vida

Apart from adding the pecans, isn’t this your melting moments?
Yes I mentioned that in the video.
@@joyofbaking I made those melting moments and added pecans to them. They were to die for. So delicious and was a big hit among all.
