You really are the kinda artist who was not born talented by birth but gradually made it this far and pushed others back . Your teaching skills are phenomenal & the fun things yousay makes it fun to learn thankyou marc i have learned alot from you more than i learned in my arts college
I’m applying a second time to an animation college after the rejected me for 1% last year, thank you for your videos mark! They really help me keep my spirits up
I'm also applying to an animation college and I wish all the best and I'm sure you will be accepted this time. Don't get demotivated! I am sure you'll do it.
*Level 4* : Draw freehand and from imagination or reference a compelling and convincing face without construction lines or circles (A tier) *Level 5* : Draw the face like in Level 4 and from any angle and in perspective like Kim Jung Gi (S tier) *Level 6* : The (god) G tier of da Vinci, Raphael, and Michelangelo: The Realm of the gods...and Cthulhu
Holy shit I literally needed this and was looking this up last night, this is perfect timing 🤣🤣 None other than the best art content creator on YT too, thank you Marc 🙌🏽
i have been banging my head against a fucking wall with the loomis method for literal years now, and even this video doesn't help, because how the hell do you know where exactly to place the divisions on the sphere? every loomis tutorial i've ever seen seems to imply that you need to intuit the measurements to a degree, because its clearly not exactly where the straight line from the diameter of the circle is, you can see in the video it's not lined up with it I've followed this method multiple times now using lazy nezumi, so i *know* my ellipses are perfect, and the proportions STILL feel off when I add the features the loomis method was sent from hell to torture artists
This video helps but should I not learn how to properly draw and understand a real face before learning a stylized way, just confused on how to start, I don't want to incorporate any bad habits.
I've been working on a character portrait for the last week and the nose has been absolutely kicking my butt (such an easy feature to over-complicate). Your approach was both highly appealing and flabbergastingly simple (and, therefore, brilliant). I will have to give it a try :)
Yeah people, the full course has a video of around 3 hours explaining in amazing detail every single anatomical part of all of the face. Even as someone who already did portrait professionally, I found it very useful anyway, really informative and deep, the right course to learn from scratch or to level up after being stuck on a plateau for some time. So go grab it, it's one of the few good uses of your money nowadays. Knowledge is invaluable.
I'm a new subscriber who is kicking myself for not discovering this channel sooner. I was actually just viewing all of the "HOW TO COLOR YOUR DRAWINGS" videos and they were quite helpful. 😆✊
Your art classes have been helping me for a long time now, after a lot of practice and your tips and tutorials, now I can draw anatomy and different poses without reference! I'm still learning how to paint and stuff though
In the new year I was just thinking of asking you Marc to do a new face drawing tutorial I come in today and I see this video. Thank you for every episode and for the fact that I can learn a lot. Thanks
Wooohooo! Early! Needed this! I've been trying to practice faces for awhile! I even watched the previous video and expressions (which I'm still having problems with ^^;)
I don't trust this guy. In my language (Polish) "brunet" means a "man with dark hair". I click the video and what I see???? Just kidding, love your lessons, this channel is gold ;).
You are genuinely my favorite youtuber. You teach in fun ways. You actually have good advice. And you are not greedy wich is a good plus. Also you actually entertain even if its a tutorial video
10:45 Many artist like to simplify it as "C with Y inside". Marc, suddenly all your brushes tuned into circles in Clip Studio. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Bruh the intro is creepy.. Btw I just wanna share that my experience on using IbisPaint is really great, I can draw with only my fingers, my pfp is the result. Currently learning how to color
*_-- Traté de seguirlo y el resultado no se ve bien, pero de algún modo se ve más realista. Muchas gracias por hacer esto. :D_* *_2 intento: me gusta más y tratando de meterle mi estilo se me hace más fácil. This is exactly what I needed! I've been struggling with faces recently. I purchased the art course and I'm super excited to start. With how helpful these short youtube art school videos are, I'm sure I'll level up fast with the course. Thanks Marc!
Hey @ddk2358 , I hope you are doing well. What are you thinking about the course? There's any part of the course where it teaches how to draw faces like this one?
I just want to tell you how much you've helped with faces! I watched one of your old videos which had to do with faces and helped jump a high gap that I have been struggling with. I just started drawing and man you just get straight to the point unlike other artists. Again, thank you soo much.
I really liked this video! Usually you get tutorials that are like "okay now draw this" but dont actually explain it -_- But I like how this one explains everything in a step by step.
many artist overlooked this kind of step by step.. going straight to details already but , as for me .. i definitely start from scratch to draw not just humans but also beastfolk , so its very helpful , level1 and 2 are my core steps of doing it , thanks Sir Marc . , i hope we can see variation for other types of head in the future.. -animal like
Hey Marc love your videos. I even got the art class you offer. Question, is it an unrealistic goal to be able to draw faces after practicing for 3 weeks? I'm on anatomy term 2.. for weeks
Thank you!! 🙏 Officially welcome to ART School! I recommend 2-3 months per term @4h/day average so it’s still pretty early! There’s a lot that goes into it too, gesture drawing, anatomy, figure drawing- all this stuff helps build the foundation for the rest. Drawing faces is hard!
just the fact that you always point out the differences between male and female is soo helpful! I feel like even my androgynous faces look more androgynous bc I csn choose a middle ground when I know the differences :) thanks so much for this awesome tutorial!
My lord of savior, Marc, thank you once again for making my day BETTER. I'm still struggling on head proportions and you saved me. Even more, I was completely elated that you gave us free 3D models (I've been dreaming of it) !! 😭
My drawing started talking, plz help 🥸
I really needed this because I'm now trying to draw characters Marc thx.
It's the Skynet!!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!
😂🤣 "Hi am mark" 😂😂 That phrase is stuck in my mind
Embrace it
You think you got it bad,you should hear the trash talking of the empty pages of my sketch book tells me.🤣
Artists: first a circle, then details, and boom, a face
Marc: teaches us what to learn
Thank you Marc!

Literally thats a video I needs for my recent pratice of head. I have been searching on youtube and look what i get. A lot thank you.
your practicing head?? 🤨🤨🤔
Sameee!!! I’ve been searching for videos that actually tell me where everything is located and it’s proportions.
Yeah, because the head needs originality, different artist have a different head .

Talent is meaningless without practice
I think he was pretty talented from the start as well but he also put in crazy amounts of practice
Nobody was talented from birth buddy
ye drawing is one of the skills what everyone can learn with hard practice
