- I ride from Mega to Moyale, finally reaching the border with Kenya, 9 months after entering Ethiopia. The last part of the road is highly militarized, and sadly, as I cross the border, I cannot retrieve the deposit I made to get my bicycle inside Ethiopia.
Finally, I explain to you how the Ethiopian government steals all the money they can from local people and tourists.

Love the honest reactions to a country. that's why we watch you. It's just a very authentic trip through a country in a very crazy way, and you seem like a genuine guy. Never change
it was good having you in Ethiopia my brother and I am really sorry that you experienced a robbery in our country I'm so sad for that but you made it. have a nice road a head of you

he's a funny compilation of contradiction. where does he think the lack of education or instability comes from? 😏 freely riding bicycle around dangerous place. make big money on internet videos. soldiers and theives both annoying 😂
I am glad that you completed your way through Ethiopia almost safely. Wish you all the best in your remain journey.
Been in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa once, in 2016. Almost been robbed, caught a guy red handed when he was taking my passport with flight ticket out of my pocket. Few hours later my friend has been forced to give away his money.
If the government steals from the regular people, no wonder why regular people steals from others ;)
Wow, what a trip!
Even on your more difficult days your joy of travel comes across well.
Isn’t that more of a theft or fraud than robbery?
Hello Yves! Those empty settlements/structures you saw along the way is normal because being pastoralist Borana people migrate from one settlement to another depending on the availability of pasture and water for their livestock.
A new subscriber here🖐️ it's so sad what you went through,,but hey you finally made it!! Welcome to Kenya🇰🇪 Hakuna Matata.
Hello Yves! I'm sorry for that bad situation you got with the country and look forward for your new jurny
I am glad that you completed your way through Ethiopia almost safely. But one thing I want to tell you is You should not get annoyed when they take pictures of you because you are literally filming them everywhere you go without their consent as well.
You must understand French superiority in Africa!
Right! So it is right for you to film them but not them to film you🤔
i just watched the full video and he was annoyed that people followed him and stopped him to take pictures when he just wants to go to his destination, his recording isn't bothering people its like a dash cam for his safety

VERY COOL! Crossing the border to KENYA. I'm looking forward to seeing how different it is from the Ethiopia travels.
As a Kenyan who has lived in Ethiopia & traveled across the different regions, quite a bit I must say Kudos… for hacking Ethiopia. Really, well done on hacking Ethiopia. It’s a beautiful country, with such lovely people, but can be very difficult to navigate. The guy who was asking you “How many years” means how long have you been cycling from France. They mean well but can come off as a lot because you are not used to it. Don’t feel bad, they mean well. Also, you should not get annoyed when they take pictures of you because you are literally filming them everywhere you go without their consent as well.
Finally, Well done on going through Ethiopia. 🙌🏾 Welcome to Kenya. You will love Kenyans. They’re very warm people. You can tell right at the border… Kenyans are so lovely.

Hello Yves, you are a very good man, i like you and your videos are the best ever! 🙂
In 80s I walked from Mega to Moyale Kenya and I felt the difference between Ethiopia and Kenya immediately i set foot in Kenya 🇰🇪.
Sorry for whatever happened in Ethiopia, but that's true, I hope they watch this and learn to do better
What is difference you had come across my parents took out of Ethiopia through the routes of Moyale, I remember being robbed as soon soon as we got to Kenya, Ethiopia was never like these we were very isolated back then.
The reason as to why you find abandoned settlements ( villages) is because most of the people in those areas and generally in Ethiopia are Nomadic pastoralists hence they always move around with their herds looking for greener pastures .
Doesn't look worth all the hassle and don't look fun. You are a brave man!
I admire your potential brother you are doing a great Job,
Thank you for sharing this information with us and the whole world. You said it very clearly about how hard it is for Ethiopian people doing business. That’s so true. The government is big mess. Another good example is the difference between Ethiopian Moyale and Kenyan Moyale just after crossing the border😢.
Kenyans have nothing to do with the robbery. Just carry your own cross.

Why visit such third world countries? What can you see that other countries do not have? Honest question.. @KinoYves nice to see your RUclips again.
I am actually surprised with your reaction when the people take your picture as you eat. Since the beginning of your journey first video till episode 66, you have been filming yourself as you eat and also you did film others as they eat, and as they perform their daily activities. It doesn't make sense to make a big deal out of this. You have been followed by kids and any local people on the roads as you travel but you never complained. Unfortunately, at the Ethiopian border you expressed the hate against the people & complained too much. You understood the Borana zone people wrong, they don't harm you, they are just surprised to see someone crossing the board by E-Bike.
Stay strong, and safe journey in Kenya!

Summer in south Ethiopia is amazing ❤
Thank you for pointing out the economic injustice the Ethiopian government is committing.
Unfortunately, that's the least of the crime they're committing. There are no jobs, inflation has more than quadrupled the past 6 years, civil wars all over, civilians being ethnically profiled and arrested, public service sector is a shitshow(need to bribe everyone). Taxes being doubled and new taxes being implemented on citizens who are having a hard time finding jobs and eating 3 meals, and on top of that demolishing people's homes and leaving them out on the streets, oh and they still have to pay taxes too
Look it up, the main sector that generate Ethiopia government biggest income is through extortion and theft by the customs.
In Ethiopia they take the term "follower" quite literally 😂 all the best and be safe.

Welcome to KENYA
you need to watch him anywhere he go you don’t be trusted this all French
Your bravery in remote Ethiopia is commendable, but it's important to address a significant aspect. In these areas, most locals live below the poverty line and have limited exposure to the outside world. To them, seeing a white person on a tricycle is an extraordinary and rare occurrence. While it's understandable to feel overwhelmed by the constant attention and curiosity, it's worth noting that you intentionally chose this route through their towns and villages, which naturally invites such reactions.
These individuals have limited access to education and experiences beyond their immediate surroundings, intensifying their fascination with your journey. Instead of showing your arrogance and complaints , consider them as opportunities to understand the consequences of your actions.
Your adventurous spirit is commendable, but it's essential to anticipate and accept the natural results of your actions in these unique contexts. If you seek a quieter riding experience, returning to the tranquility of France might be an option. Recognizing the challenges and embracing them as opportunities for personal growth is a path towards understanding and humility. 🚴♂️🌍

Jeez give the man a break, he's only human. The majority of us would have found that to be a rather nerve racking experience. He seemed to be more worried about how close they were getting to him rather than the amount of people who were interested in him. let's be honest they weren't exactly paying attention to the road either lol.
Who are you to lecture him about what he can do and what he needs to feel?

The abandoned village around Mega is because of Drought. I mean because of the absence of five consecutive rainy season approximately 95% of livestock of Borena are died. So, in order to get some relief the Borena people settled near the main road. But now thanks to God every thing is changed as you saw.

I hope your Kenya adventure will be so much better, it's sad to see people behave this way, the bikers chasing you never came across the word harassment, it's one thing to say hello and move on but being chased is flat out annoying and nerves triggering, however you carry yourself properly, 10/10 you know exactly how to deal with these situations. People need to understand how they treat foreigners is what makes or breaks someone else's decision to visit your country.
