- I ride from Moyale to Turbi, for my first ride in Kenya, in East Africa. The day is nice and easy, but when I reach Turbi, I find a village without electricity and with almost no food, and nobody wants to help me recharge my batteries...

The Kenyans are great brothers and we are always grateful to have such neighbors. I have no doubt you will enjoy your time there!
I am ethiopia but Kenyan better than ethiopian because of metal psychology level very big gap between them. Ethiopian very similar west African special Nigeria very toxic generation not good for foreign people

@Kino: wow - thanks again. PS: the flat rocky desert land you will be riding through between Turbi/Moyale & Marsabit is known as "Diida Galgaluu" [=plains of darkness]. The same used to be part of a massive volcanic lake. The remaining part of that huge lake or an in-land-sea is today's Lake Turkana [ex-Lake Rudolf]. Still, Lake Turkana is a massive lake which extends for about 300kms north to south & has an average width of about 35kms (?). The lake is to your west & runs parallel to the road you are-on. This same desolate-looking desert landscape is a very rich archeological site where the bones of some of the earliest human ancestors have been found by famous archeologist such as Richard Leaky. Safe trip & all the best.
Good info. The archeology sites are around Loiyangalani going north to Sibiloi park as well a sthe other side of the bank - Eliye springs, Kalokol and Namoratunga
Wow people in kenya are learned despite Turbu being in suburbs and the far north. Peaceful and welcoming people . God bless kenya❤❤❤

Why not say they speak good Kiswahili? Evolve mentally please.
@@DumeJeusi You need to evolve mentally and understand what context means. If they only speak good Swahili how will they interact effectively with a tourist like this guy or interact with the world? How are Kenyans working with American companies going to keep their jobs? People need to communicate.
The language barrier is now solved which was a big problem in Ethiopia. Kenya looks interesting and peaceful county. I am curious to watch the next video. :)
Of course Kenya is peaceful except for some frequent unprovoked attacks from neighbors that are always at war
@@christineopiyo7769Ethiopia never attacked kenya. Stop crying.
@Veeworld21 i was not dramatic. She don't have to mention Ethiopia but she meant Ethiopia. And i didn't talk to you. If she didn't meant ETH she can speak for herself.
@Veeworld21Neither did he? He said neighbours!
@@yonas2828your head isn't normal seeing your interactions in this video.
When Kenyans speak of an unstable and wartorn neighbour they usually always mean Somalia.
Yes, Ethiopia has also brought insecurities to our northern border but these reports don't circulate too much and most Kenyans except some in Marsabit have an overwhelmingly positive view about Ethiopia. The problem is our north eastern neighbour in most people's minds.

First time watching your videos. Great roads there yet it is considered one of the remotest places in Kenya. Yes, borders make people behave differently especially due to different governments. Kenya and Ethiopia are siblings when it comes to that region.
Our beloved late President Kibaki invested heavily in upgrading road infrastructure in the country. It was one of his revolutionary milestones..
@@lightning369Yes, and he give the responsibility to a capable engineer Raila Amollo Odinga who had no scruples removing the rich who had built on land set apart for bypasses from the 70s. Kibaki gave his ministers free rein and Raila performed spectacularly. The restructuring in the ministry of roads has made it functional to date.
Kenya 🇰🇪 is a nice place indeed 😅😊
I am proud Kenyan. This is who we are in Kenya and we love every one. If for some reason one person misbehave it's an isolated case and even the locals will deal with them. The only reason they couldn't help change your battery is because they are not sure when they will get back electricity to recharge their own. Sorry though.
I really love what you are doing
Yes. We "love everyone." But do those "everyone" we love reciprocate the love we give them wholeheartedly? Or is it only a one-way ticket?

Wow, Kenyans are so friendly compared to other African people. I will have to visit kenya soon. They're just a vibe, I can even acquire their citizenship.
We dont have dual citizenship. You will have to denounce your country first.
There's dual citizenship
You can acquire through marriage otherwise you all already born😅
Why do people think they can just walk into Kenya and get whatever? We seem to have created this impression and we are starting to get overrun especially by people from unstable neighbouring countries like Somaliya, Burundi, South Sudan. The people are nice yes but our officials are too corrupt. Citizenship should be sacred and difficult to acquire for foreigners.

I stayed in Moyale for a wonderful month in August 2011, during which there were some cross-border resource-based armed conflicts. I was advised to stay inside my guesthouse and I didn't see anything at all. The people of Moyale were also not too bothered by it.
Hahhaha. The ones telling you to remain indoors were friendly and concerned about you. They hate seeing foreigners or non-locals suffering from such hostilities.
@@lightning369: I was living right on the border, where you cross from Ethiopia. The local Kenyans who worked in my guesthouse and in other businesses in the building were all worried, and some had families who were involved. We ALL did what we could to avoid provoking unnecessary conflict. So what are you talking about? I didn’t get any special treatment.
I love how correctly you named the clashes: Resource-based armed conflict.

Do you know, the territory until Marsabit was part of Ethiopian territory?
The British acquired it after signing a treaty in which they pledged not to invade Ethiopia, thus ensuring Ethiopia's sovereignty.
