Brief sketches and memories of my earliest childhood years here. Wish they could have lasted a little bit longer so that they were more of a permanent memory. Grew up listening to classical music on vinyl like Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Wagner, Mozart, etc. Grandparents had a player piano that played a lot of classical pieces.
Yep ours in the 60s was Magnavox! The wood case gave such a great sound to my mom’s Dean Martin, Elvis et al records. It was hard to unload that sucker when my mom died in the 90s and everyone was abandoning vinyl.
This house has good bones. The roof not leaking!! Someone could make a bed & breakfast. I want those red and white vinyl chairs I have the table they go to awesome!! 😮 😊
That old fridge is from the 50s. I have very fond memories of ours when I was a child. The pink stove is also 50s. Those keyhole covers are called escutcheons. What a beautiful old house, and still solid enough that it's fixable, if someone has the funds and tenacity!
It is still fixable as you said. Sure would need some insulation in the attic. I owned a similar old house that is still occupied by the people we sold it to.
I love this place. It's a new favorite for me. I think the fridge is more from the 40's and 50's. I love it and the sink. Thank you Kappy. I also appreciate you showing us the wallpaper.
Judging from the beams in the basement and the solid roof still there. That house could be saved. It's framing is solid as heck so it could be reconfigured for modern taste. Close to the road, but so what, a lot of houses are. And that lot, trees, big yard. Kids would and probably have loved it there. Good video Kappy. Love that kitchen sink and refrigerator. Those wood doors are beautiful. Crazy amount of mattresses in there. The floors seem to be in good shape. I think someone was salvaging the door knobs. Overall the place is in good shape. The attic was perfect.
Poor old home. Once loved and decorated, now left to ruin. Nature is trying to take it's land back. It does have a crazy layout. It still has it's beautiful charm. And yes, lol, Mz Ruby would have loved the wallpaper! Another great video Mr Kappy! Thanks for taking me along!😊
Man i couldn't tell you how many room and homes i wall paperd in my life the 70's and 80's wasall about wall paper we had a store in our town that sold 1000's of rolls and they were cheap. you could find any thing there.
What a lovely home! Even considering the decline of the house, it seems to have a warm and comfortable feeling as if the last family was happy. I love wall paper too! Thanks channel!
The refrigerator is 50's-60's era. That house is still in pretty good shape. Too bad someone doesnt restore it. It is kind of close to the road, unfortunately. Thanks again for sharing Kappy!
I grew up with one of those porcelain kitchen sink units, the old rounded cornered fridge, Zenith Hi-Fi console and familiar end tables, 'cept ours were in maple. This place has kept up well against the weather, for as old as it must be. Still has a pretty nice covering on it's roof. I chuckle every time you come face to face with attic or basement stairs. I'm just grateful you venture further, every time! TY, Kappy!
The fridge and stove are 1950's era. Pink was a very popular color for kitchen appliances then. Pink, soft yellow and mint green were all popular in the fifties. My first ever rental was a tiny one bedroom cottage with a pink stove. 😊
Another great find,Kappy. The fridge is early 50's vintage. I was wondering where the fireplaces were, but when you went to thebasement I see that it was coal furnace. Thanks!!!😜
Hi Kappy . Nice to see that with a few exceptions that the woodwork in this house is not painted .This house looks like it could be fixed up if someone had the time and money . BTW I think what you saw on the floor when you first came in is an old canister vacuum cleaner .
This was a great old house and still has good bones. Remarkable! Wish someone could bring this beauty back to life! Thank, Kappy. BTW, when you were going down into the cellar, I saw that old refrigerator and said "don't open it" at the same time you said "not going to open that one!"
I soooo loved so many things about this home from doors to kitchen appliances and all the wallpaper - especially the bit inside the upstairs closet of the last room. This place has potential for being saved - good roof, good foundation. Thank you Kappy!

Awesome, Kappy! Love your video style, and you find the best places!! That old Kelvinator fridge would be late 40's or 50's. We had one very similar when I was a kid, folks got it in 1946 when Dad just got out of the Navy after World War II, and they had gotten a small 2-bedroom house for us to live in. Amazing finds, and love all the 'recaps' at the end of all the magnificent places you've shown us. Thank You !!!!
Wow. I loved this house. Would love to see it restored. Loved the Stereo and the pull down lamp in the living room. The Main roofs look newer. like maybe just before it was left. Looks like it was last lived in maybe the late 80s, early 90s.
When I saw the amazing condition of the attic, I was wondering if this old house has a slate roof? I couldn't tell for sure from the pics on the outside (but, I don't think so?)
Omg!! I love the beautiful Consol stereo! I’ve got a classic Magnavox console stereo that sounds awesome and it looks and performs as new still so I have a fascination with console stereos!
Urban Exploring With kappy thanks for sharing this video with me about Incredible 150 year old Packed Abandoned Doctors Farm House Up North in The Mountains this was a good find my friend and thanks for sharing this and God Bless.
Wow! What another cool find & explore this is! The kitchen was done in the 1950s judging by the sink, metal cabinets, pink gas stove, & refrigerator. The toilet in the bathroom upstairs is a 1950s Sears/Homart/ Universal-Rundle forward trap toilet. As for the toilets in the upstairs hall closet (or toilet room, not sure what it is or why there would be extra toilets stored there) , the look to be Briggs toilets from the 1970s or 1980s. Judging by the fact that the house has no radiators and the large original coal-fired furnace with duct work, this house had a coal-fired forced hot air heating system, which was later upgraded to a modern gas-fired forced hot air heating system by the addition of a modern gas furnace while still using the old duct work. The GE fridge in the basement easily dates back to the 1940s or 1950s. Interesting old house. I really enjoy your videos and how respectful you are.
Hey Kapster Greetings from Oz We don’t hv raccoons in the walks but we have pesky varmints called possums ( opossum family ) Love the vibe in the home non threatening just family oriented The pink magic chef vintage oven looks anywhere from 30s through to 60s handsome range of appliances they had up til fairly recent I believe ; pink in all its shades is my fave colour Take care of dodgy floors my friend 🙋♀️
The appliance colors I've lived through are white, copper, avocado green, harvest gold, almond, black, stainless steel. Somewhere around the copper and avocado eras there was rust/burnt orange, but we never had that. My mom had to have every new color when I was growing up.
If I had the money I would buy it, then set up a trailer or RV next to it (to live in) as I completely remolded that house. After I was done, move in. The views out those windows are excellent and refreshing.
Love the pink stove!! I’m guessing that fridge is more 50’s. And I bet it still works. Unlike the junk today-hardly lasts 6 months past it’s warranty. Love that kitchen. The box that was laying there was definitely from the 50’s.
That green vintage makeup mirror on the dresser in the upstairs bedroom is AWESOME!!!! 😍 Iwould soooooo love to find one like that! Its not often any ever come up for sale. I guess most got thrown away by the early 70s 😕
Interesting thing about old houses with wallpaper. Wallpaper was originally figured as a kind of insulation. Many homes wallpaper the ceilings because of that idea. You also will notice that the homes of the late 1800s and early 1900s had there bathrooms upstairs and not on the main floor. This would seem strange if you figured you having guest run upstairs to use the restrooms until it dawned on me that most all places until the 50's had a outhouse as well.Even in small rural towns.e The best thing about these videos is your appreciation for the little details that added character to the homes.Even rundown and dilapidated you see and share the beauty you come across. Modern built homes totally lack that aspect as most are built looking sterile and clinical, hotel appearance. The carpentry back then was craftsmanship done with pride. Each carpenter has his own unique style and left his fingerprint on the building.Look at the brickwork on the top of the chimney. They made the effort to make it special. I am always fascinated by the work they did and by restoring the old homes you discover the lost techniques making each home a educated experience. I sure do appreciate your work on these videos. THANK YOU.
Did you happen to notice the antique Art Deco bedroom pieces! I saw the big vanity top piece that holds the mirror, and then the vanity piece that the mirror sits on! Then I saw the long dresser! And then the headboard! They looked in excellent shape! Those are some valuable pieces!
This was a really enjoyable explore. I love when there is still wall paper, wood doors , old cupboards, to see. I can’t help but always wonder when most of the belongings are left, what happened to these people?
It's very interesting that a lot of the furniture is left, but it wasn't left in place and has been damaged. There are a couple of pieces in there I would love to have. The water table in the kitchen and the matching utility cabinet would be wonderful to have. My family always used a water table. That's where we put our buckets of water to drink and cook with when we didn't have running water. The end tables in the living room are from the early 60s. I actually had the same style of wardrobe at one time that was in one of the bedrooms.
Yeah I was shocked how much retro appliances had been left!! Great observations always!! Never heard of a water table before! How cool! Thank you very much for watching! :)
The house I bought in upstate New York 7 years ago and have lived in ever since also was built in 1870, also housed for a time a medical practice on the first floor and also has a history as a boarding house (predominantly for Erie Railroad workers). It has been a real money pit, unsurprisingly, but I love the building, its character and history, and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Nice peaceful old places wonderful to see 👀 always wonder what it was like back in the day thanks 😊
Best sound came out of those wood stereos

This house looks oddly similar to the abandoned house on SR 56 in Bedford County, PA. I pass it every time I drive from Johnstown to Bedford.
I love that you see the beauty in the old homes ....They are so beautiful you can imagine how they used to look. Thanks for sharing
So kind of you too say!! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Too kind of you to say!! Thank you for sharing the information! I had no idea was so old! Much appreciated for the kind words and watching!! :)
Wow. I loved this house. Would love to see it restored. Loved the Stereo and the pull down lamp in the living room. The Main roofs look newer. like maybe just before it was left. Looks like it was last lived in maybe the late 80s, early 90s.
I can only imagine how beautiful this home once was.
When I saw the amazing condition of the attic, I was wondering if this old house has a slate roof? I couldn't tell for sure from the pics on the outside (but, I don't think so?)
I wondered about the roof too, it’s really lasting a long time.
Didnt look all that bad for an abandoned place. Someone could save it maybee
Love the detail you’ve added! Thanks.
@@brendatomlinson You’re welcome.
Hey Kapster
Greetings from Oz
We don’t hv raccoons in the walks but we have pesky varmints called possums ( opossum family )
Love the vibe in the home non threatening just family oriented
The pink magic chef vintage oven looks anywhere from 30s through to 60s handsome range of appliances they had up til fairly recent I believe ; pink in all its shades is my fave colour
Take care of dodgy floors my friend 🙋♀️
I feed the possums and raccoons at my house every night. I put it out front under the carport away from the backyard so my dogs don’t bother them.
Opossums aren't pesky 🙃;
they're extraordinarily beneficial to humans 💞 :
• Reduce Lyme disease-carrying tick population ... eating nearly 95% that cross their path.
• Resistant to snake venom, and eat venomous species.
• Extremely low-risk of contracting rabies.
• Keep gardens blooming by eating snails, slugs, insects, and fallen, overripe fruit.
Beautiful Place
That roof still looks good no rot or decay.
Wow nice find! I wish these old houses could talk!! U would really get some great videos with that! Stay safe
Cool house u know I love old houses 😊
The appliance colors I've lived through are white, copper, avocado green, harvest gold, almond, black, stainless steel. Somewhere around the copper and avocado eras there was rust/burnt orange, but we never had that. My mom had to have every new color when I was growing up.
The rust/burnt orange 😖 Lordy that’s some bad memories right there!
Amazing! Thank you! Merci
Cool vid Kappy. Nice work. Stay safe and well.👍😊
Thank you for watching!! Much appreciated! :)
Looks like a place I know of in Bedford County, PA. I always thought it would be awesome to update and refurbish.
That green vintage makeup mirror on the dresser in the upstairs bedroom is AWESOME!!!! 😍
Iwould soooooo love to find one like that!
This would seem strange if you figured you having guest run upstairs to use the restrooms until it dawned on me that most all places until the 50's had a outhouse as well.Even in small rural towns.e
The best thing about these videos is your appreciation for the little details that added character to the homes.Even rundown and dilapidated you see and share the beauty you come across.
This is the kind of house I grew up in. If money were no object, I would buy it and bring it back to it's former beauty.
love your videos from english granny part of history
Thank you very much!! :)
Enjoyable tour- thank you
This was a really enjoyable explore.
What is a water table?
Yeah I was shocked how much retro appliances had been left!! Great observations always!! Never heard of a water table before! How cool! Thank you very much for watching! :)
The house I bought in upstate New York 7 years ago and have lived in ever since also was built in 1870, also housed for a time a medical practice on the first floor and also has a history as a boarding house (predominantly for Erie Railroad workers). It has been a real money pit, unsurprisingly, but I love the building, its character and history, and wouldn't trade it for anything.
I think I know where it's located, I drove by a few times and it always made me wonder what it was like inside. Thanks!
