2017 marks the year of the great return of Norwegian symphonic black metal giants, DIMMU BORGIR. The band's highly-anticipated double-DVD, Forces Of The Northern Night, is out worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records.

Their legendary concert in Oslo, showing DIMMU BORGIR on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir as well as the entire performance at Wacken Open Air with almost 100 musicians in action from the Czech National Symphonic Orchestra.

These guys put on one hell of a show. I got to see them in a small club (about 800 people) in Kansas City back in 2008 and it was INCREDIBLE. The lineup was Unearthed, Kataklysm, Devildriver, and Dimmu Borgir. We had seats on the side of the stage, above the green room....one of the best shows I've seen.
Dimmu really drives the nails home.

As much as I like this version with the orchestra, the best live version is the "Live in Poland 1998". Back in the days the quality was pretty shit, but the sound is different from the more modern Dimmu. And Shagrats voice, I have not heard a more demonic voice come out of a human being! And it fits the song perfectly!

Dimmu BorGEAR is how it's pronounced but it's not a big deal.
They were a much faster and hard-hitting band with majestic atmosphere back in their 2001 "Puritanical" era, with Vortex, Barker, and Mustis. Vortex had GODLY clean vocals that not even the choir here can come close to.
Their 2001 album is my favourite Metal album of all time (has been that way for 12 years now). It's a 100/100 in my opinion, all songs have no flaws and are perfect.
Perfect choice...with the ENYA Melody.....but still waiting for GATEWAYS,the amazing DUETT !....but please,pronounce the Band Name NOT the american way,try the scandinavian way...DIM-MU-BOR-GIR...with HARD "R" like RAMMSTEIN....
