- Take a look at my collection of Lophophora beauties, all grown from seed and all over 20 years old! They show off their wonderful pink blooms from late Spring onwards, all the way into late Summer/early Autumn!

I love your collection of Lophophora Joe! I only have one in my collection. It is a Lophophora Williamsii and I love it! The music was perfect for this video. When you mentioned how old some of these were for the size it made me realize mine has a long way to go. I think that it's super special that you grew all these from seed! Thanks so much Edith, for watching and for your wonderful feedback! So happy you like them! Not sure whether it makes a difference but I do keep them in a pretty warm and sunny spot, but shield them with a little shade from direct noontime sun. Also, they love a breeze and lot's of fresh air and I grow them in a 100% mineral substrate with about 10-20% limestone chips added. wow those are absolutely incredible!! i just ordered my first Loph seeds literally last night, very excited to sow some of these incredible + slow growers! what is your preferred mature Loph substrate mix? i'm assuming they may like a different mix than my san pedros + other cacti prefer due to their shape/ growing patterns. i am inexperienced with button type cacti
Hi, thanks very much for watching and commenting and I'm really happy that you liked my little collection of Loph oldies! And wow, that sounds awesome that you are planning to sow and grow some from seed yourself too! They are indeed wonderful little plants! For my mature ones, i grow them all in 100% mineral cactus substrate, so no organic soil, peat, etc. added at all. However, they do like about 10% limestone chips added. In case you are interested, I have my "substrate recipe" included in a recent video from about 2 months ago, where I repot and stage a few Eulychnia varispiralis cacti.
