  • Since giving birth to my second baby, my hair has been shedding like crazy, nails have been breaking, I've been getting random headaches, nausea, lightheadedness, and noticing abnormal changes in my body. I know most people would just chalk this up to hormones, which I'm sure play a major role, but I want to make sure it's not anything else I should be prepared for.
    I appreciate your tips!

I lost my hair with both of my children. The first child was less than my second. I cut my hair both times because I didn't want to deal with freaking out with the clumps that were coming out. I was taking multivitamin and prenatal vitamins with my second child thinking that it would offset the depletion of vitamins from musing. None of it worked. My mom said it happened with her too but only me (I have 4 siblings) My baby is 9 months old now and my hair isn't falling out anymore and my edges have grown back. It grew back strong and healthy both times. I just took it for what it was, postpartum hairloss and it seemed to be right since now my hair is fine.

My vitamin D was extremely low and my doctor put me on a prescription of 50,000IU every week for 3 months. I’m surprised your doctor didn’t put you on a vitamin D prescription to get your levels up. Low vitamin D is very dangerous because it controls heart functions, calcium absorption, bone and muscle health. Also my hair loss with my son 2 years ago started when he was 4 months by the time he was 6 months I just shaved all my hair off. It was at the middle of my back but by the 6 months it was thin and looked nothing like after I gave birth beautiful long and with so much luster. To this day I’m still have hair troubles and my son will be 3 on August. I’ve tried many things but my hair just is not the same. Just keep trying sis it gets better.

Thank you for sharing. Now that I think of it, my doctor did prescribe me a supplement 🤔lol I just never picked it up since I already had some of my own at home. But I'll keep this in mind. Currently I'm using an app to track my Vitamin D absorption through the sun...taking a supplement (which I'm wary about since I heard supplementing can block the absorption of the natural D from the sun, but I'm still learning), and I am taking a multi which has 1000iu's in it. I hope this all helps me in some way.

I once read that when, African Americans are tested the numbers are based on data of white Americans, so if you are low in Iron , you are actually extremely low as your Melanin absorbs and rejects at higher levels. Unfortunately, most things in America are based on whites and not the whole spectrum of people.
I just had my 3rd baby 6wks ago and I have been taking my Prenatal pills diligently! I have noticed a difference in my nails and overall energy. I also breastfeed, so you really need the extra boost that comes with the vitamins.

Stress and not sleeping well can cause inflammation too and it just drains you of vitamins. I added postpartum hair-specific vitamins with my second and it was worlds better. Can look up the baby blues postpartum hair gummy ones I love them. Has paba for shedding but also biotin and collagen, vit d, folate etc ... grew back my edges pretty quick. Best for doc to check iron though if you are dizzy and that impacts hair so much.

The same thins is happening to me, i feel like im gonna go crazy because of how much hair I’ve been losing, my hair is currently relaxed but I do plan on transitioning to heat-trained instead of relaxers

My hair density was very less as if i compare it to last year due to smoothening. To get back my hair I started using Cocconion anti hair fall kit by littleeextra and it was successful in enhancing hair thickness and growth. I would advise if you apply it then always wash your hair by diluting shampoo with some water before applying as it performs better in that way. Also when you apply oil then warm it a little and then apply. Apply it a minimum of once a week. Use neem wood comb while combing your hair and use silicon scalp massager while hair cleansing to get clean sebum and dirt etc and it gives even better results.
