    In the IT industry - I would consider the following:
    If you have "X" years experience & your salary is more than 5X, it is considered to be on the higher end. And it becomes more risky as you gain more experience!

      5x is very high risk indeed

      Hi @Pavan , how much in your opinion would be a good salary in IT in India -- in the sense , if we have x years of experience, is 2x or 3x a good and risk free salary. Can you share your opinion on this.
      Thanks in advance.

    I agree as soon as you go higher salary band your exit option becomes limited.
    Side hustle or personal branding is must for now a days.
    But I do not agree for salary benchmarking.
    It depends on company to company or niche you are skilled at.
    You cannot say amazon pays higher salary than tcs.
    But yeah exit option will be limited because you will now be targeting similar sort of companies as exit option in order to be sustainable.

    Sir my boyfriend is working as a Senior staff Software Engineer. He is mostly handling high priority, urgent and risky cases. He works like hell. And he is also unwell since 6-8 months. His salary is in Cr.
    But I am concerned that this is taking toll on his health and mind.
    Life is the most important thing that I am worried about.

Some of my friends studied and returned back to India without getting job which made their financial situation much worse. Things have changed in recent times. Please do fact check before promoting such things.

      Hi abhu! I am also in the same position u r. If you are very well with ur analytics skill try to learn some data analytics tool like excel, sql, power bi first. Then work for a few years and upskill by learning ml,deep learning, ai and then switch the job with promotion as a data scientist. If you are really good with finances do a professional course . But to remember, ur primary skill should be your most knowledgeable part either finances or analysis.

    This might be true for MBA Sales, marketing jobs but definately not true for Knowledge Driven roles like Software engineering ..personal experience

    • @yowaiomae914
      @yowaiomae914 11 месяцев назад +1

      You have the idea that old software engineers are removed first when young engineer can do the same job in fraction of their price? This is disadvantage of bejng in technical role. This is the reason people shift towards mba after working for 2-3 years. Infact it's the sales and marketing which actually have a lot of weigh of amount of experience, especially managerial role because some skills come better with age.
