I didnt get his india - pakistan world cup joke ....i was tryn to look up for some wee comedy on putin and ended up here and i strongly beleive Russell Howard did it better
Political comedy isn't a problem but the way they do it is. Master hiranaiyya in kannada used to do a lot of political comedies but it suited the Indian context-it wasn't "hindu bad , minority good" or "nationalist intolerant, terrorist is teacher ka beta" bullshit. The problem is that you do comedy in a style that is foreign to India and you're trying to force it on indians. India's top comedians nowadays are anglophiles without a simple understanding of Indian commoners and their sentiments (people who do comedy in regional languages have better content-be it political or otherwise). They think hurting feelings is somehow comedy.
