Great video due' And it's about time that someone has done a vid on the photo mode because iv not seen any" So this was very informative.... Well Done... it's convinced me now to buy the 5 from my 4....Excellent and 5 stars.... 😊
The human eye doesn't see the difference because we usually view images at distance. This argument with regards to resolution was settled at least a decade ago (or more). The real advantage of higher pixels is the ability to crop further into a image without the noticeable loss of quality, which in itself proves that lower resolutions aren't noticeable to a certain point.
What it proves is that action cam photos are OK for small size, social media use, but little else. You'll always get a better image from your smartphone, with its computational abilities, than an action camera. (I have the Action 5 Pro, but always use my iPhone 14P for photos, of the two devices).
Based on the movement between each image, I assume you handheld the camera. Without knowing the shutter speed, aperture, and ISO settings, it's difficult to gauge much from the photos. For best results, try setting up the camera on a tripod with consistent settings and no camera movement. Also, how do you focus with this camera?
May be i'm blind, but as far as i see, the quality is the same in any of these resolutions. 40 MP resolution is good enough even for modern fullframe cameras.
I got it in October to combine videos with videos from my DJI drones. I usually record in D-log M. I am not satisfied with Action 5, I don't know why they add Pro to name. Videos from drones are a far way better, and camera is bad for photos.
Thanks. Its really hard to find videos about action cam PHOTOGRAPHY...
All we need now is a Magic Lantern hack and never need another camera. Nice video. Very impressed.

The quality of photos reminds me of iPhone 4 but video and the quality of your content are great!
finally a video about photo mode!!! why in mine they always look blurry? thats the only thing that I miss on the gorpo 9, photos were amazing always!
Excellent video thanks
Great video👍
Which camera have you used to vlog in this video?
@@TravelclubOfficial All from the Action 5 pro
This is the video that I wish I watched before I bought mine
So, do you regret getting it? Think you'd rather have a GoPro?
Basically the 36 is exactly the same resolution as the 40. Its just a change in aspect ratio
Great review finally for pictures! No photo related but: is it possible to deactivate the HDR from video? the sky looks so fake :/
The camera really needs an icon on the screen for exposure compensation. Also really needs individual iso settings of 100 etc. Not 100-800

@@chazM6116 All shot in auto and the camera has a fixed lens so you can't focus with it. The movement between each shot was due to the aspect ratio👍

Actually 10mp (or less) is sufficient for the naked eye, the real benefit of higher resolutions is the crop ability.

Crap for photos.
well, all the pictures looks like crap... it was not my camera only
I think the 4 pictures taken at the tombstone are the best and clearest in 36mp. The 40mp picture is not good.
