    I find it difficult to swallow the lie that everyone is supposed to live in fear of "toxic masculinity". It's not real. I hate to see the hurt reabused by taking thier story to promote a divisive narrative meant to further alienate people. Masculinity isn't toxic and femininity is power. We used to cooperate but that actually gives us strength so ponder who it helps if we consider each other "toxic". Who wins and who looses with this logic. Think critically and wake up.

      This is real the fact that you don't think it is the term invented for a woman like you is called a " pick me" for men. She didn't say masculinity was toxic she said toxic masculinity. There are things that most or part of the male population do in fact do and there are effects to this you didn't understand anything she said.

      If that's so true then how come those weak soft Scandinavian nations are tops in just about every level of human flourishing? How come the beating hearts of our high-tech industries concentrate in our least manly (read: SJW-friendly) metro areas? Why did Germany long ago reject values Americans commonly associate with "manliness"? Toxic types of masculinity are what brought war, slavery, Social Darwinism, exploitation of workers, domestic violence, abusing weak simply because they are weak or otherwise lack power to withstand rivals.

    What she said: a mass of generalizations that don't really refer to anything.
    What she did: paced back and forth in an animated way and talked about herself. Than gave simple banal advice based on her generalizations that don't actually refer to anything.
    My take away: It would be good if people who are far to sensitive to other people's opinions learn this early in life so they don't give sanctimonious talks to the general public who didn't have such a problem getting through puberty.

    • @fredsmith4152
      @fredsmith4152 2 года назад +1

      @闘将ダイモス No, I didn't understand what was talked about. That's my point. She said nothing of substance. Her thinking is a string of catch phrases that she's never really thought about.

    • @fredsmith4152
      @fredsmith4152 2 года назад +1

      @闘将ダイモス If you think she gave explicit examples then we have a much different view of explicit.
      There's no such thing as toxic masculinity or toxic femininity.
      There are behaviors generally seen as masculine or feminine. Sometimes those behaviors can be detrimental and sometimes positive depending on the situation or how they are applied. Toxic masculinity is a catch phrase in itself that few people think through in any concrete way. Generally these people use the phrase to compensate for their feelings of victimization that Lisa clearly has.

    • @fredsmith4152
      @fredsmith4152 2 года назад +1

      @闘将ダイモス Close but no cigar,. Quoting myself, "depending on the situation or how they are applied."
      Murder is toxic. Killing someone in self defense is not toxic--same behavior, different situation.
      There's no such thing as toxic masculinity or toxic behavior. "Toxic masculinity" is a thoughtless and meaningless catch phrase. Thinking it means something, on its own, is delusional.

    Does anyone hear something...off about this speech? She claims that she wants to “liberate” men and even tells us to be secure in our identities and not bow to outside demands, which I can get behind. But then...She lists instructions for men to follow regarding using our privileges.
    In other words that whole section of the speech turned her point from “be yourself” to “be the self that I want you to be.” Just exchange one set of chains for a newer shinier replacement.

    now explain something to me, "toxic masculinity" is not about men according to feminists, it is a way to describe certain norms in the male gender role that are harmful to the males and others right? but women can be masculine too, meaning that they can also display "toxic masculine" traits correct? soooo, where are all the women displaying "toxic masculine" traits in the Gillette ad? why is it only images of men and boys? and why aren't women also to be held accountable for "toxic masculine" traits in other women? if its a problem with the traditional gender role, something that is supported and maintained by everyone in society.

    Find your identity in life, because if you don't society will choose it for you. And when you find it, love what you found and don't hate others for what they found. Masculinity and femininity is beautiful and it comes in lots of different ways.. Everything starts at home, teach your kids to be themselves and strong, whoever they are and there will be no need to bully people, because it is the weak that are bullies.

  • @PETEYBOY954
    @PETEYBOY954 2 года назад +1

    I will always live by what my mother taught me. If someone is saying something you don’t like, ignore it. A bully is only looking for a reaction. Unless they are actively trying to hurt somebody then there is no point to intervene. Now if they are physically hurting someone or becoming dangerous. Then you do what you have to do to remove the victim from the vicinity of the threat or you remove the threat from the vicinity of the victim.

    Masculinity and femininity are both beautiful compliments to one another. The term "toxic masculinity" used to have some merit to it, but now when people use the term, they simply mean ALL masculinity.
    Rollo Tomassi: "We are raising a generation of boys as if they were defective girls."
    We should embrace and CELEBRATE masculinity, we cannot afford to make it out into something negative, Our kids need a strong father figure more than ever. We can prevent SO MANY from going to prison and turning to substance abuse/alcoholism.

    • @PETEYBOY954
      @PETEYBOY954 2 года назад

      To me, toxic masculinity is the belief that “all men should be this because all women are like this” it’s the grand generalizations. No one human is the same. Humans are the universes greatest art project. And no man made art project is exactly the same as another. Positive masculinity is pretty much what you believe it to be as long as your fulfilling your responsibilities and your not physically or emotionally abusing others.

  • @thorssensgamesNCC1701

    • @brandonwilliams4050
      @brandonwilliams4050 5 лет назад +7

      Dan Winter I’m sorry but no, no it really is a pretty atrocious talk. I mean that objectively; regardless of whether or not one agrees with her message.
      The speaker spends most of the talk advocating a message of freedom from rigid inflexible roles for men and then proceeds to corrupt her own message by creating “guidelines” for how men should behave now that they are “free”.
      But they aren’t free. She just wants men to act according to what she believes is acceptable and good, which happens to include being the advocates and protectors of women and non-straight or other social minorities.
      At best she comes off as bumbling and oblivious to her mistake and at worst, she seems self serving and manipulative.

    The old toxic masculinity is being gradually replaced by more balanced men, toxic masculinity literally means too much masculinity, not balanced by feminity, it is a severe lack of balance which manifests in the center of a being, in the heart, just by looking at our ancestors speaks for itself, the younger generations of kids are showing a bright look at our future. The so-called real man that some describe is usually severely toxic, just masking that whole incapability to receive, to accept, to open up, all these qualities of divine feminine that are necessary. Many men are already healing from this toxicity that is often stored in our acestral trauma deep within our psyche, the masculinity is being radically re-defined and transformed so that the extreme gap between men and women would be reduced and narrowed down. Man and woman themselves will soon to be a thing of the past of course, as we will be transforming into androgynous hermaphroditic species as we used to be in our ancient past, but it wont happen overnight, we need to work on that evolutionary shift first.
