I have been married for 48 years and we both received Christ as our Personal Savior together. Only then, after studying the Word of God we learned through Biblical Principles what it took for our marriage to work. We both worked hard outside the home and we shared everything. Our marriage was built on Biblical Principles, not on worldly beliefs. Unfortunately, noone is capable of making one happy or keeping them happy because we all have situations at times. God is the source of a happy marriage. Without God we can't maintain a healthy marriage.

When we take the Word of God at His Word and noone else's, we will find that husband has to submit to their wives as well in a loving respectful Godly manner. It just doesn't work one way in a marriage. That way two loving people in a marriage makes one. That means unity

Beauty and “style” is in the eye of the beholder as well. You can’t speak for every man. There are some men who don’t care for all of the extra. I’ve dated men from different backgrounds, physical fitness levels, taste in clothing and height. I’ve dated gentlemen who were NOT considered physical attractive or “handsome” BUT their energy, their conversation, their energy, their personality and their love and affection for ME made the difference. And the FINE FINE couldn’t pull me.

This is so good! I am newly married and always open to learning how to be a better person, wife, partner, and better representative of the kingdom! This is so needed in this culture. Before I met my husband at church, I was focused on service, as well as listening to everything because I needed help in various areas. I was single and saved and satisfied but waiting on God! The Holy Spirit led me to learn about Esther! Read it, ladies. God did it. Now it's real work daily to keep it together! If the enemy have his way, he would kill, steal, and destroy our testimony! We are not having it! So thank you for the reminders, and thank you for being bold and telling women and men what most churches barely touch🙏🏾

I always want him to know that he is special he's a wonderful man with very proud of him. I let him know how much I adore him daily, I tell him how fine I think he is. I love that he's a God-fearing man and we were friends before.❤❤❤❤

If a woman keeps herself up, works, cooks and cleans that is a bit too much to ask. Some of those Household duties should be shared if both work full time.
If a man is with Keisha in the projects and doesn’t talk to me then he is not the man for me.
Both men an women need to be happy in these marriages! A woman should not be overworked and muled.

I just found your podcast, and you are speaking your truth. I always leave home looking presentable even when I don't feel like it, and most of the time, when I have no where to go, I like to look good around the house. It makes me feel sexy, loved, wanted, needed and I'm happy even tho I'm living a single life. I'm good at stroking my man's ego, and I enjoy telling him how wonderful he is, especially when he has had a bad day. I will take good care of him whether its emotionally, spiritually or physically. You speak life into his existence by stroking his mind gently with your love because he's human and needs to know that his woman is there by his side to help when he needs her the most. Some men never show their vulnerable side because of their ego and pride. Sometimes vulnerability can be your strength to overcome obstacles presented before you especially if it's fear that's stopping you.

Dr Vernon, so happy that the Lord is using you to speak the truth about relationships. The Black church has not addressed these sensitive topics. I am praying that you have stoked a "fire storm". Hopefully, other pastors will catch fire about these relationships. If they are uncomfortable or feel inadequate to teach along these lines, hopefully they will invest the time, finances, seeking out those relationships folks who are qualified and willing to help. Pastors, the congregants need this...singles and marrieds. Praise God for the truth in what you are preaching

    • @williewhite169
      @williewhite169 8 месяцев назад +1

CarmelaPattillo, if you have to “ get you some cloths that are pretty” so that you can attract a man, you have low self- esteem, devaluation, and low self-worth. Also it’s a false doctrine that a woman must “pick” right. It is a man who finds a wife who finds a good thing, not the opposite. I exude so much confidence, self esteem, and self worth that if I were to go out with pajamas on, men would still be attracted to me. In fact I have always dressed very modestly. Yet men have walked up to me and stated that I was someone they thought they needed to know. My presence always demands attention.

Pastor Vernon, This is a really interesting subject. I really love to hear you celebrate and honor Lady Vernon. Please keep doing it:) How a man treats his wife says alot about his character and sets the tone for how other people respect their relationship. She truly is the heart of the Word Church and an amazing woman. Real communication is truly needed on this subject because many of us can't see past our own needs and past hurts. As you understand, this is a nuanced conversation that isn't simply about women needing to look better, be respectful and help. Nor is it just about men just being the knight in shining armor to rescue us as women (whether financially or otherwise). Both partners need to add value- how that value is perceived is different depending on who is evaluating it. I watched my parents love and respect each other consistently until my dad went to heaven. Both had a heart of service for the other that was evident to our entire family. That is a beautiful example.

One of the best, simply put and Godly, common sense "how to" meet a godly man video that I've seen. I'm saved, homeowner, have my own through God but I'm a little shy, very conservative and and a little unsure. I get attention but they don't commit. I'm told that I am "too good", "they are not good enough" or "I don't need a man." I don't have unreasonable expectations. Yes, I have a type but that is more scripturally based than physical. I want an attractive man but I want a mature, godly man who loves me as Christ loves the church, the head, chivalrous, a protector, live with me according to knowledge and won't be jealous of my accomplishments. Shamefully, I have dumb down or hide my blessings to keep them from being insecure and insulting me. When you addressed it, it was appreciated and confirmation. I will open up more and make myself "seen" and approachable. Thank you!

Pastor I don't know how you popped up on my timeline, but you did and I'm so thankful. I was stuck in Peter woman mode, covered, conservative, and I'm telling you I've been hurt in the process because hubby has wondering eyes based on the fact that my good heart is not enough. I didn't understand but I'm going to do better moving forward. My girlfriend tried to tell me but holiness had me not listening and well I'm sure you know where I'm going with this.

I've been married for almost seven years and I'm still learning. I appreciate this teaching so much. I was raised in a traditional home by my grandparents and I couldn't understand why she'd be do hard on me. As I look back she was preparing me for this time in my life being a wife and mother. I'm so blessed to have a husband that is a true believer God gave me his best man for me. I desire to keep my self looking good and being a woman that he wants.

Minister R.A. Vernon has rendered an awesome podcast to listen to. . . Will be passing it on!
Loved "No one hangs out where they don't feel honor!" So true! Have spoken to a Couple (D&T 3 years ago) and a wife (AA 5/23) . . In a similar format! Couple D&T never been closer! Often seen together now! He was a truck driver. She a stay-at-home wife. They were coming to the courthouse for the third time and final time to get a divorce! When he saw me he said oh Lord! My response was "Well whatever it is! That's who you need to call upon the Lord!" Long story short I end up praying on this couple for about 15 to 20 minutes. Right in the halls of the court house. People walked around us repeatedly. Security guard bringing a roll of paper towels to (me) where I was in an intense realm of praying. My tears saturated the husband's shirt. The wife was crying! She had said "I dont want a divorce!" Yet according to the husband, who said "I do all the work! I drive 16 18 hours a day, come home and and give her the check! She still ain't satisfied!"
AA her husband (has since joined the Usher board) said to me weeks later, "I don't know what you said to her, but she's been a whole different person!" He went on to say "She'll tell you I was on my way out the door!"
I was like wow in my head! I was shocked to hear this come out of his mouth! As we stood in the church! Given we had just met!
The wife AA, had shared the same during our conversation. I had the time to minister to her as we were en route to a women's retreat! And during our conversation all I could hear was "I", "Self" aka "selfishness" or "Blame!" "T's always threatening to leave."
However by the time I finished our conversation, tears were running down her face! I didn't shoot no bull. I laid down some more truths of her! Not seeing herself! Lacking
communication skills! Etc. . . . "Honoring and respecting your spouse, and yourself" etc . . .
Her exact words "No one has ever talked to me like this before! This was her second marriage. Go figure. AA "possibly" did her share of damage in her first marriage! Always two sides! Yet he left.
For all the single spiritual ladies! And men! Keep praising the Father!
Your King! Your Queen! Desires of your heart will show up one day! 😉
    Victoria, wv

I wish I saw this before my divorce. I still love my husband so much but I just didn’t get it. I have money and degrees but he just wasn’t not happy with me. And when you said the maid par, that was my thoughts. A clean house was important to him and not to me. Making money was important to me because I grew up poor. I would say let just get a maid but he did not want that. Thank you Lord

If you are both still single and still love each other, perhaps a reconciliation is possible. You could get some bible-based reunification counseling. Be authentic and transparent and put your newfound wisdom and lessons learned into practice. Hopefully he will receive you in love and follow suit. I say this because true love is hard to find. Love that still smoulders can sometimes be reignited if both parties are on the same page. Best wishes.
