      Rory On Air - Less distance available in the glide but more options available in the event of an engine-out because you can autorotate into something as small as a tennis-court. Swings and roundabouts, as the saying goes. I shot a couple of practice approaches to a rugby-pitch in my gyro a few weeks ago and my friend captured some decent footage of my low-passes (I’ll send you a link in FB Messenger).

      Thanks Ian - glad you enjoyed it. Yes, he did ask me to stop using student but I couldn’t hear him until the second attempt. I guess it’s slightly quicker if I don’t as it shortens my callsign. • @RoryOnAir
      @RoryOnAir  4 года назад +1

      Hi Peter, thanks for the comment. I am careful not to overfly a settlement in a way that would not enable me to glide clear but it's sometimes hard to judge and your experience may well tell you that I'm not leaving myself enough wiggle room. I do try to be cautious but we are also trying to practice heading hold nav techniques and if we deviate it becomes a track crawl and not as much use to practice. Safety must come first obviously but that's another consideration I have on trips like this. Thanks for watching!
