Every note in this song is spaced out so perfectly, and it reminds me almost of footsteps. As if all of Corrin's choices led up to one climax, this battle.
In my mind this plays when Xander is fighting Corrin and he knows that only one of them is going to live. This song captures the determination and the regret both perfectly.
The sad thing is when you have to kill Ryoma, you have to kill Saizo (or if you spare him, he will die by Garon behind the scene). But the sad thing that I make Kaze vs Saizo, but in their last battle there wasnt a special dialogue... So sad

I love this song. It was actually part of the whole reason I got into Fire Emblem. It made the choice of Birthright or Conquest so hard, I had to see the rest of the game. Best moment in the series in my opinion. Because of it, I had over 400 hours with the series in under a year. I've played everything from fates, Awakening, Echoes, to games like Sacred stones and FE7. This song will always hold a special place in my heart.
@@lucario5717 it gets hate also because of its art-style and characters' personalities (like Awakening), and for the overall anime tone that its older predecessors didn't have, or at least not so strongly. Also because of the datesim mechanics which are rather cringeworthy.

@Sao Miguel Simmons 'cause the other FE games had good stories (like Thracia 776, Echoes SoV), there is one FE game where the story is too good, it's genealogy of the holy war it's the most depressing and saddest FE game, and i recommend it to play it, so comparing the stories from other games and the mess that fates did, well... There are more reasons like a lot of censorship from the japanese version, some bad translation, and more, (if you ask i dont hate fates, i love it so much).

So many intense battles and close calls (and resets thanks to Counter). Even still, I can't wait to play the game again on Lunatic someday, just haven't gotten around to it.
when I played conquest and seeing both scenes where Lilith sacrifices her self to save the avatar and when ryoma kills himself it got me to cry my eyes out and I normally don't get emotional when I play any videogames

I enjoyed conquest a lot. I mean honestly the story wasn’t the greatest but part of that is having to make it work with 3 routes. I thought the gameplay was really good, fixed at least some of the combat issues from awakening and had some pretty cool maps. I thought it was a good challenge on lunatic too which was fun

I'm gonna say it- Fate's story wasn't even that bad. Of course each of the paths was going to be short and simple- they had literally 3 campaigns to fit into the space of 1 game. FE: 3 houses did the exact same thing, yet it is never as heavily critiqued as Fates. The character's are a bit 1-dimensional... but there are literally over 71 useable characters in the game. Fates is clearly the FE game whose focus is less on the story/characters but more so on the gameplay and tactical challenge. The difficulty, design, ambience, music, player-freedom was all flawless. I have never played a FE game in the franchise that has been as fun and entertaining as Fates.
The stories are all over the place and conquest butchers Xanders character. They never went into detail about the concubine wars which is integral to camillas character. Hoshino was completely in the right, there was no real morally gray thing
@@theed805 Like I said, there was limited time. People were expecting 3 fully-fleshed out storylines with no loose-ends. Unrealistic expectations when the game boasts 3 different paths to choose from. If it had the time and capability to elaborate on every character's backstory and every important history in time, it probably would. "Hoshido was completely in the right, there was no real morally gray thing" For us, obviously. Any normal person with a brain would be able to deduct that Nohr is the aggressor in the story- but from the POVs of the characters, Nohrians believe they are justified in their invasion until they begin to question King Garon's actions. Nobody really lists this as a valid criticism of the game, because it's very clearly implied through-and-through lol.

Ryoma was pretty hard. But its sad to see Xander doesn't have any good skill. He is no worthy rival,maybe for the death of [R e d a c t e d],or maybe just for difficult of Birthright

@@GenshinLover283 Both routes. He's a poorly written character in the story and absolutely contradicts what he fight for in support conversations, they're like two different characters.
@@bravecereza Fates has a huge problem of story =/= support convos in general. So many characters are so different between the two. And whereas in Awakening, it was acknowledged when support had an effect on the story, such as Lucina refusing to kill her own husband or mother, Xander will straight up threaten to kill Corrin if she is wrong or lying about Garon even if they have a fucking kid together. It's little details like this that make Fates and its support system just seem less polished than its predecessor. Thankfully much of this was fixed in 3H, mostly by removing intra-story S-Supports and making support convos less impactful or potentially influential on the plot in general without sacrificing what makes them special, and when support convos do have an impact on the plot, it's done well, such as with Edelgard supports unlocking CF. It's indicative of laziness in general that is a big problem with Fates writing. I'm just glad we can say retrospectively in 2020 that the series improved on its failures in Fates exponentially, I was worried for years that the next FE would be just as brain-dead. And to be clear, I don't HATE Fates. I love a lot of its character-writing, for example. I just think its plot-writing leaves a lot to be desired. Damn, that kind of became a whole-ass Ted Talk. Woops
I wonder how Fates would've been if the translators actually did their job well and also stole a little bit of Three Houses writing (not that 3H has GODLIKE writing, it's more that they make the split paths thing way better theme wise)

yeah this ost was pretty good. Noticed it during the prologue mission, cause it was pretty well executed.

I'm gonna say it- Fate's story wasn't even that bad.
Of course each of the paths was going to be short and simple- they had literally 3 campaigns to fit into the space of 1 game. FE: 3 houses did the exact same thing, yet it is never as heavily critiqued as Fates.
The character's are a bit 1-dimensional... but there are literally over 71 useable characters in the game. Fates is clearly the FE game whose focus is less on the story/characters but more so on the gameplay and tactical challenge.
The difficulty, design, ambience, music, player-freedom was all flawless. I have never played a FE game in the franchise that has been as fun and entertaining as Fates.
The stories are all over the place and conquest butchers Xanders character. They never went into detail about the concubine wars which is integral to camillas character.

@@theed805 Like I said, there was limited time. People were expecting 3 fully-fleshed out storylines with no loose-ends. Unrealistic expectations when the game boasts 3 different paths to choose from. If it had the time and capability to elaborate on every character's backstory and every important history in time, it probably would.

For us, obviously. Any normal person with a brain would be able to deduct that Nohr is the aggressor in the story- but from the POVs of the characters, Nohrians believe they are justified in their invasion until they begin to question King Garon's actions.
Nobody really lists this as a valid criticism of the game, because it's very clearly implied through-and-through lol.

Aw man this song goes so hard. Too bad Fates has a bad rep for its story because the soundtrack is immaculate.

@@GenshinLover283 Both routes. He's a poorly written character in the story and absolutely contradicts what he fight for in support conversations, they're like two different characters.
@@bravecereza Fates has a huge problem of story =/= support convos in general. So many characters are so different between the two. And whereas in Awakening, it was acknowledged when support had an effect on the story, such as Lucina refusing to kill her own husband or mother, Xander will straight up threaten to kill Corrin if she is wrong or lying about Garon even if they have a fucking kid together. It's little details like this that make Fates and its support system just seem less polished than its predecessor. Thankfully much of this was fixed in 3H, mostly by removing intra-story S-Supports and making support convos less impactful or potentially influential on the plot in general without sacrificing what makes them special, and when support convos do have an impact on the plot, it's done well, such as with Edelgard supports unlocking CF. It's indicative of laziness in general that is a big problem with Fates writing. I'm just glad we can say retrospectively in 2020 that the series improved on its failures in Fates exponentially, I was worried for years that the next FE would be just as brain-dead. And to be clear, I don't HATE Fates. I love a lot of its character-writing, for example. I just think its plot-writing leaves a lot to be desired.
