I have the 4inch Rogue belt, but due to being a short arse decided to take the advice a buy a Starting Strength 3inch 2 ply from Dominion ....absolutely fantastic belt ...quality is first class and the advice to try a smaller belt was perfect.
Maybe. But if you are trying to deadlift 800+ your squat would be large as well. Look at what the big lifters are using. I doubt it would be this belt. And for what it's worth for a few more dollars you can get an SBD which would be the last belt you would ever need.
You got to do accessory movements to help your deadlift. Try wearing the belt when doing bicep curls, it should add about 30 pounds to your 10RM. THEN do your deadlift (still wearing the belt) and your bicep strength will be better so you should hit 800+. Many thanks merry Christmas.
Careful not to crack a rib squatting with one of these rigid belts. I did (w/the two ply SS belt). Not the belt’s fault. It was too tight and riding a little high up my waste so it interferes with my lowest floating rib while “in the whole” squatting at the lowest position. One whole less tight and pushed down low toward my belt line and it’d have been fine. Did some research and I’m not the first to have done this. Btw- I’m not a rookie.
@@indominusolympus8802 I like mine. I need a new one. I've shrunk and I am down to the last hole or 2 depending the day. Really thinking about buying an SDB though.
I'm sure it's nice. But $180 for a stock 10mm prong belt is way overpriced. Pioneer stock belts are $100 and very good belts as well. For that price range you're almost to the cost of an SDB. Which is widely regarded as one of the best belts you can buy and used by some of the strongest lifters alive.
@@estebandiiidotv I looked at the SS rack. For the price you can get my Rogue RM4 Fortis Rack and add a lower crossmember. That way it doesn't really need bolted down. But it's a good idea to do so.
@@bmstylee SBD belts are 4". I'm an owner of said belt, yet here I am watching this video because I'm looking for a different belt for deadlifts (at least).
You should post a link to the aforementioned blog post in the description.

Mark Rippetoe is the Ron Swanson of strength training.
I currently deadlift 365lbs but I'm aiming for 855lbs. Will this belt get me the 855?
P.S. I'm very dedicated and will wear two belts if necessary.

I set a deadlift PR of 860 lbs the first time I wore the Starting Strength two-pile leather ear muffs. Highly recommend.

Oh and take creatine
O C everyone knows creatine is steroids
This is what fuels Mark’s coke habit.
Not a big Coke fan. I prefer Dr. Pepper.
Hi Mark Lickatoad, great video as always!

Nah. I'll keep my Pioneer belt. For the price of the 2 ply you can almost buy an SDB.
Pioneer is the best belt I've ever had.

It looks like a quality belt
I would like to see more about build and construction. It looks nice but multiple plies worries me.

I'd sooner drink 3.7 litres of soy milk a day than to lift with a belt made for lobsters, kid
Litres!?!?!?! *inhales in triggered fashion*
Mark, what is the meaning of life?
To put the bar 1 inch from the shins, directly over mid food
that beautiful face
Instructions unclear. Hoop tensioned my neck. Blarghhhhelp
Are you serious? One hole belt without finish for 85$ when you can have some of the best quality for 25$ from europ? What in the world..
You say one hole like it’s a bad thing that’s a feature that a lot of people look for
I love these videoes from RIP but I can´t understand why guys use a belt......If you can´t squat 600 punds without a belt then lift 550 in my opinion.
No.
