    I like how he rejected the opportunity to life coach / guru, and just told the guy to work it out by himself because Mark teaches you strength, and that's it. That's pretty humble.

    My whole purpose in life right now, at the age of 62, is to never end up in a nursing home. Eat right! Meat, eggs and a few vegetables and fruits. No sugar, no grain, no junk food, fast food and processed food! Exercise regularly and properly with weights. Sleep good. Keep moving!

    I'm not a business owner or manager and perhaps I never will be with my attitude. However, I completely agree with your opinion of not putting in effort to convince someone to do something that they've already made up their mind about, or when they are not motivated themselves. People don't understand me when I say I'd rather use my time helping someone who wants it.
    Maybe it's in part because I'm lazy and it takes more effort than it's worth. But this is a life lesson I learned in my mid 20s which seems to be at odds with everyone else's extreme effort to produce a "sale".

    I’m definitely a Rip disciple. When Rip talks about Strength training you shut up and listen because of his years of experience and knowledge earned. Rip doesn’t quite have it right about “rest homes”. I’ve worked in family owned long term care for 25 years..that’s my experience. Medicaid pays $105-115 a day. We have to provide 24 hr care, all medications, meals, phone, cable, and transportation to all medical appointments. Let me know where you can live with all these services and more for just over $100 a day. We are definitely not well funded like you may believe.

When a person looks in the mirror one day and says "I'm dying and gotta do something about this"... that sets a person on the right path and the right course of action. And there's plenty of broken hearts out there!

    Rip understands how to get strong. But he’s clueless about other aspects of fitness. Speed, aerobic and anaerobic stamina, mobility, these are serious aspects of total fitness, and Rip derides them as a waste of time. He’s proof positive that most people need to stay in their lane.

    • @R3d1996
      @R3d1996 5 лет назад +3

      He does stay in his lane, though. He has stated time and time again that he only cares about getting people strong. He doesn't go about telling people not to train their cardiovascular health, or their mobility. People go to him to get strong, and that's what he does.

    • @felixungar2301
      @felixungar2301 5 лет назад +1

      @@R3d1996 He has stated in various seminars and podcasts his views on stamina and stamina oriented sports. He's misinformed on those topics and there are listeners who learn bad information from him. You can search for him talking about running or cycling for examples and you'll see what I mean. He should stay in his lane, and he many times has not.

    • @LTPottenger

      You get more speed by getting strength and you get better endurance by increasing your fat burning metabolism while running. That is how runners who win races change since back in the 60s. All the bs you think promotes these things are what some dumb hs gym coach thinks is how things work. The last exercise anyone should be doing is a marathon for speed even marathon runners don't train like that lol

He thinks running is easy then he hasn't run a day in his life. He should stick to teaching lifts and not give life style topics or issues.

      Sentry Stout I agree that squatting is important, in fact I think every capable human should be doing basic barbell strength training, but there is some benefits that you get from cardio, like heart health. If you don’t care about health and you just want to get brutally strong than fine don’t worry about cardio but if you care about your long term health you need to do some cardio, I care about health and I’m training to be a firefighter so I have to run anyway.
