Howdy Folks! There's been a new driver released by AMD, and the patch notes mention a FIX for crashes on *Kingdom Heats 1.5 + 2.5 HD Final Mix!* Check out my video discussing this news here: ruclips.net/video/El3x012O_IQ/видео.html EDIT: There has been a patch released as well, which seems to fix all of my issues! Have a look here: ruclips.net/video/sAz145t3q24/видео.html
Yup i was one of those ppl reaching out to square and epic, 5800x and a 7900xtx. I couldnt get past the beginning portion of kh2fm. It sucks since its been like 3 years. I posted on amd and have emails as well. Support has been horrible.
I wish that I had looked in to it before buying on Steam. I did apply for a refund, but it was rejected because I had 5 hours in game. Those hours were spent trying various different settings in an attempt to prevent crashing, but Steam didn’t seem to think that mattered 🙃
Unfortunately I bought this bundle via instant gaming code to steam, then no refund, but I will keep it on my library of my rog ally with the hope that they will fix soon this issue. KH saga is my fav game ever, I play it since I have 14 (now im 30 yo) I loved the idea to play it on handheld pc, they need to be fast!
it's stupid in that it was an issue since EGS launch. square keeps sending people to amd and amd says that it's probably a problem with how kingdom hearts interacts with their drivers. some drivers fix it, but the next driver update tends to break it again.
Square themselves have pushed an update, so hopefully that'll keep it fixed and functional for folks for the foreseeable future! - ruclips.net/video/sAz145t3q24/видео.html
its funny because i played for 3 hours without crashes, and then suddenly my pc gets bricked every 5 minutes of playtime. hopefully i can still refund but i really was looking forward to this since i havent played KH since i was a kid, so this is just disappointing and a slap in the face to the fans since its been an issue for a YEAR. i refuse to switch my gpu with my nvidia one just to play one single game hopefully theres a fix soon.
It's bizarre how it gets worse the more you play, isn't it? Before, I could make it all the way to the Tidus section of the intro, but then the crashes started happening sooner and sooner, until finally it just crashed as soon as I selected "Final Mix" from the main menu.
The issues seems less on rdna2 than rdna3, instead the game crashes anyways on me before I could save after a long fight or anything. I hope the issue soon gets resolved. This kingdom hearts deserves more love, otherwise steam should refund people because its not just one game.
What kills me is that 3 and 0.2 work great even on Linux (running Nobara 39). It's only the pre unreal 4 games that hate AMD GPUs. I played the whole series via egs (I was desperate) on my old rig (i7 6700k and GTX 1070) with no issues. I think it's an issue with square. Current rig is 7800x3d and 7900 XTX.
At least you had a decently powerful backup system waiting in the wings! It’s a shame that Square forced your hand on it, though. Your new system sounds like it would crush these games, if they just worked.
@@HowdyFolksKH I don't want to boot up my old rig because I hate windows. When I was playing the egs ports on the old rig I was able to get 4k 60 no problem.
@@ChengHorn9 You should be able to run the game off the apu in your processor no problem as that is a known work around. Im stuck waiting for a patch as I have a 5800x
I have a 7900 gre and just bought the package last night because of the sale, and kh1 will crash if I enter the pause menu twice or try to save twice. I only have 30 minutes in, so I guess I'll refund for now. Sucks because it was a good deal on the bundle but if it's been years and no fixes have been made, I'm not gonna keep it in hopes one day I'll be able to play it.
I hope that your refund requests goes through smoothly! Hopefully they'll patch the game one of these days... Make sure to leave a review on the Steam page so others can hopefully learn from your experience! On a side note, I picked up the 7900 GRE for another system, and it has been a great performer. Aside from Kingdom Hearts, I think you are really going to enjoy that card 👍🏻
I’ve got good news for ya! AMD just dropped a new driver that seems to fix the crashing issues. I talked about it in today’s video: ruclips.net/video/El3x012O_IQ/видео.html
I haven't seen that one, though I do play on Linux so that is likely why. If you find the time, consider sharing your experience in the Steam community page so others can see it! Might be someone there will have seen and found a solution to this problem already.
Personally, I don't believe the fault lies with AMD. I don't have issues with any other games with my 7900XTX, it is _JUST_ the Kingdom Hearts games. That leads me to believe that Square Enix might be at fault here.
Well it definitely isn’t AMD’s fault. Problems like these are the responsibility of the devs to address. If it ends up being a driver error, that would still be Square’s responsibility to verify and then contact AMD for a solution.
I buy a 6700xt for me. Ended in my borther pc because I have contant stuttering in Jedi Fallen Order. He give me his rx 580 I have a lot of less problems with it. I will never buy again a Rnda graphics card. Their drivers are shit.
I never had issues with the 6900XT, and the _ONLY_ games I have trouble with on the 7900XTX are the Kingdom Hearts games - which is why I think the issue lies with SquareEnix more than AMD.

@@HowdyFolksKH you can write a message to support saying that and theyll give you a refund used it for street fighter 6 when I had 5 hours lol
@@HowdyFolksKH I was gonna pull the trigger on steam but figured the same issue might be present. Unfortunately it was, lmk if the game gets fixed pls

Shout out to my unfortunately times GPU upgrade
Just got the games and the 7800XT :)
Any updates on this issue?
None I am afraid.
I got a Microsoft. Net framework error stating that the configuration system failed to initialize.

Also I've already contacted AMD. They need to know because it's their GPU and frankly they need to service what they sell. I paid too much for my gpu.

welp...time to download the remixes on ps3 with HEN and wait for 3 to be playable
i'm not the one giving money to square if it doent want it
Perfectly reasonable and fully understandable.
