- New Wheels for the WS6 Trans Am
I have been wanting new wheels for my 2002 Trans Am for a while. I wanted a wider rear tire in the rear. I decided on Torque thrust 2. Wheel size is 17x9.5 Front and 17x11 Rear. Tire size in front is stock size 275/40/zr17. Rear Tire size is 315/35/zr17. Front tires are the new Nitto G2 and rears are NT05R. I love the look of these wheels on 4th gen F-bodies! Tell me what you think......Do you think its better?

Love the five minutes of you driving around in your truck. Stay on target man!
It's nice to see that there are some clean F-bodys out there. Gets old seeing All those mustangs, mopars. Awesome ride
Thank you. I love fbodys!!! Mustangs are the new fbody around my area.
This is my dream car ever since I was a kid. Looks really nice man! Keep up the good work
Bobby Maull mine too. Thank you!
Thats a Sweet ride bro looks good on them rims...im bing watching all your videos lol
Thank you.
I just picked up a sweet 2000 WS6. The only issue was the Terrie wheels they put on it. I'll be getting some of these or some Boss 338s. You bird looks great by the way.
Thank you. Sounds like you have a great start if you have any fbody 👍
Not a big fan of torque thrust’s wheels on Fbody’s (kinda over done) but I know they are pretty expensive wheels. Still looks good tho 👍🏼
Bryan Torres thank you. I agree but I love the look.
Beautiful car man! I just picked up a red 2000 TA and I want to add these rims as well. Great video will keep checking out your other videos
@@lancelafonde5240 thank you
Looks killer, looking to put a similar set up on my 97 Camaro. Not sure if I’m going to go as wide on the back
Thank you
I had a 98 red M6 WS6. Loved that car!
GroundZero SportsCards me too. One of my all time favorite looking cars
TWA Motorsports love the channel
GroundZero SportsCards thank you for watching!!
Looks good.... I needed an Adjustable panhard bar and tubular lower control arms when I went with 315's. Founders suspension parts were a deal compared to BMR.
I didn't have to cut bump stops but you have to jack from the pumpkin . If you jack from the sides in the rear they bind.
ColeTrickle13 yeah I wasnt rubbing but it was off a little side to side. Next video I have on this car will be that install. I have had great luck with bmr so I have just stuck with them.
BMR is great used them for my 00 SS t top car back in the day...did everything in the catalog...lol
Founders gets great reviews and is much cheaper. I think your wheel sare pushed more outboard than mine as I'm no where near the fender lip. I was way to close to the factory inner lower control arm so the tubular units fixed the issue. Did the hammer mod but need a tad more.
ColeTrickle13 yeah I do um umi when I don't want red and bmr when I want red(hate hammertone) I'm not close to lca yet so still have stocks but that will come at some point.
Love this!! My favorite look is how the rear tires poke out from looking at her from the rear I love it! fills out everything they look like steamrollers from the rear! I know this combo is tried and true but there is a reason that simply looks amazing, the only reason why I would move away from my stock WS6 rims would be to get these torque thrusts
Thank you. I love my old man torque thrust
Do you have any problems with rubbing in the front with the 275s? Wanna run them on my 17x9.5s and also should you always run a thinner tire in the back and taller in the front? Like a 40 up front and 35 in back like you did? Thanks
No rubbing at all with 9.5 and 275s up front. Normally a person would run 275/40s all around but my rear wheels are 17x11. The tires I am using are right around 26" tall front an back.
Hi .. thanks for the video .. did u have to remove or clear anything before you fit the rear tire? Thanks again
No but the 315 I used is more narrow than a normal 315. Link in description
Looks very good anyone should be proud too own it
Fabian Taylor thank you
I'm looking into doing the same thing on my 99 TA, so these will fit perfectly with out any spacers? No rubbing? Your videos are great and alot of help
They do but the rear tire needs to be the exact same listed in description because nitto 315 runs narrow
Is there anyway to get ahold of you to talk to you about what I like to do to my 2002 Pontiac Trans am 57 yrs old would be scared to attempt it without you ,you are a master of what you know Them rim look GREAT while you were doing it them i thought they werenbad
You can email or dm on Instagram. What are you looking to do?
So sick. The 11” is perfect for the rear end of our cars. Like it was made for it
Thank you. I do like that look
Hi Travis, wheels look really great. Good job. I have recently discovered your videos and they are really helpful since I have a 98 T/A.
I have 125k original miles on it but it is kept in the garage all the time so it still looks good. I could use some help to remove the plastic
trim pieces around the glass on the rear lift gate. I see that there are no retainers to pry loose so I don't know where to start prying it loose.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
They are hidden. Closest to the back comes off first.
Sweet ride, love all the work you have done on this beast...
Thank you
Could you please tell me what tires you bought in this video front and rear you did an amazing job on this Trans am she is Beautiful
Nittos. 275/40 front 315/35 rear
@@TWAMotorsports Thank you for the information on the tires I appreciate it very much
You're welcome
Man you have great taste in cars ! One day I'll have a similar setup as you !
Silver Ado thank you
Love it! I have a 99 white WS6. Did you lower the car?
Thank you. It is lowered. I did a video on that aswell.
@@TWAMotorsports in your opinion, if i do not lower mine, should i put the same type of rims but 18 inch?
@@koldsteel1904 I like at least some drop even if it's just 1" 18s will look great though
I paid $650 cash for some with some nittos 555# with 90% tbread on them.
Wheels where in pristine condition.
I know i got a bad ass deal.
9.5s though
Nice. That is a good deal.
These wheels look much better than the stock ones. I would get them powder coated satin black though 👌what offset are you running?
Thank you. Front bs is 7.25 rear is 7.75
Whats the offset of the rims??
@@trevonwilson1 7.25 front 7.75 rear
Whats the difference between back space and offsets?
@@trevonwilson1 not really anything. I posted a link to the ones I bought in the description
Did you have any trouble fitting the 315 on the rear? Is there any rubbing?
No issues with rubbing but I am going to roll the fenders.
working my 02 camaro this is great content
Thank you
Hey man how tall is you garage Ceilings to accommodate that left in there with two cars?
LT11988 just about 11 feet
Looks bad ass man and I would be proud to own that car
Dwaine Bryant thank you
Looks good. They are a bit of a "common" replacement wheel but still look hella good on there. I thought about TT2's or Weld Prostars
Thank you. Yeah I like both of those.
Awesome ride . I have a 99 SS with the same rear tire 315 any issues with your car being lowered because thinking about lowering mine with new shocks and springs but still trying to find the best set up to go with also I have a Strange 12 bolt rear end would this matter any was wondering any suggestions. Thanks
Thank you. No issues but it doesn't hurt to roll the rear fenders. I did that on my camaro and made a video on it.
I've seen all your vids. Just trying to figure your tire size in the rear. It's a 315/? Mine are the 315/35/17 identical to your tires from the looks. You cut 1 and half circles off your coils in the rear. That's what I'm gonna do if you have the same tire in the rear.
I listed all sizes and links in the description. They are nitto 555 315/35/17. Not all 315s are the same width. Nittos run narrow
Travis if the car is not lowered do you know of any needed fitment mods with the mentioned wheel and tire set-up ?? Thanks
Shouldn't need anything
Stylish aftermarket refresh, fits the car too!
Thank you. I have always liked them on these cars.
Looks great. I have a 94 Pontiac trans am with American racing rims on it same style as yours. But mine are are mounted to 275/45-17 tire.
Thank you. These wheels just fit these cars.
@@TWAMotorsports I have a question for you is the tire size 17's in the front and 18's
17x9.5 front 17x11 rear
@@TWAMotorsports thanks man
You're welcome
Awesome brother! Just got a 96 z28 street car project I'm going do the same
Thank you. They will look amazing on a z28!
Badass! Dawg'gwn makes me want to change my factory paint'd or powder coat'd silver wheels on my 99' Firebird Formula.I ain't decided which wheels to go with yet. Jeg's has their own wheels that are basically look like some of Weld Racing wheels!?!? Nice ride young man!
Thank you. I'm not sure if they changed offset on jegs wheels but they didn't have the correct offset for 4th gen fbodys in the rear.
I didn't think I was gonna like the wheels but man they actually look great on there! By the way im in a firebird Facebook group, it has like 14k members, if you're not already in it you should definitely join, you could share your RUclips vids and spread the knowledge 🤟😎 I'll post a link to it incase you're interested

Michigan Rootz thanks you. I know this is crazy but I don't have Facebook. Feel free to share the videos if you would like. Thanks for watching and the invite.
TWA Motorsports ehh I don't blame you! Lol I'll definitely share your RUclips channel on there 😁✌
Michigan Rootz thank you
Nice car, sorry I just saw this as I just bought a WS6. What offset are these wheels and what adjustments did you make to the rear?
No adjustments. 7.75 bs
@@TWAMotorsports thank you for replying! This has been a dream car of mine since H.S. So now we are going to turn this car into a twin turbo beast.
I wish I had all the parts
Awesome new look
dennis braxton thank you
What's the biggest rear tires you can do with leaving it stock , really do like those rims
Maybe 335
how much is it lowered because I have a 94 z28 lowered on bilstein shocks and I want to put the torn thrust 275’s all around.
It's about 1.7 all the way around. You will have no problem with a 275 all the way around.
Stock rims not bad but Torque Thrust, Miro 111's, possibly Verde Axis great aftermarket choices for these cars,,
Rod Guitarezz I looked at Verde but always have liked tt2
Love those rims that's what I want to put on my 2001 Firebird the current ones are the oem 16"s and I found some torqe rims 1that are 16x8 can you tell me if this will work without rubbing
16s will fit depending on backspace
@@TWAMotorsports ty but the seller just told me the offset would be out of spec for year and make
Generally 16s are not made for newer stuff
@@TWAMotorsports Ya that's what I thought to and my car is a 2001 Firebird and with very bad oem 16"s
Awesome video ! I just bought a 94 trans am in awesome stock condition ! You think these specs would work on mine ? Trying to figure out what I can and can’t do.
Thank you. Yes they will be the same
Going to put these on my 02 WS6 but it is stock height. Would I still need the panhard bar? Should I use a taller tire to fill it in?
No panhard needed at stock height. I would run the same exact tire at stock height.
I just got a free 1997 trans am formula ws6 .... Soft top is toast and no reverse...... Body is pretty mint.
Can't beat that price
Good wheel (no scratches )removal tips. These wheels are 🤣👍on Red F's
Jeff Mccallum thank you 👍
It’s looking good man!
IssaLS1 thank you
Travis the link for the rear wheels 17x11 says it’s a +27 mm offset. Is that correct?
7.75 bs but not sure about offset
Those wheels and tire combo look awesome on your car... My question to you is how do the rear tires ride
Thank you. Rides great with these tires. They are very soft.
Looks dope man
Thank you
Hello superb car! my question the exact size of the tires in front on your 17x9.5 thank you ... Dom
Link in video description
Looks great man!
Erik Gomez thanks
Looks pretty good to me . I like it 👍👍
El Rocky thank you
Your Bird looks sweet !!! A lot nicer than the OE rims. The 2001/2002 OE rims are uglier than the 1998-2000 OE's. I'm glad you didn't go black, they look horrible on a F-body.
Thank you. Yeah I like the older style ws6 wheels more. I hate black wheels! Lol
Are those the chrome tt2 or the polished? Whats the part #? If they're polished it should have part# 505
ceidy perez polished. Front is the 1 piece. Rear is 2 piece
TWA Motorsports nice the adjustable panhard bar should fix if it rubs in the inside
ceidy perez yeah it isn't rubbing but I want it perfectly centered
TWA Motorsports yes specially with the rears been 11 wide u want them center or else you'll have more tire sticking out from one side
ceidy perez exactly 👍
Not my favorite wheels. But still looks good. The sizing is perfect. A factory wheel in the same size wheel and tire would be cool.
Packwood Performance 4X4 thanks.
Hey man you know why my c6 will rub if im running 285 in rear but i seen guys run wider with no issues and no spacers
The factory vette wheels offset is wrong. The aftermarket options generally give you a fbody offset.
So i won't be able to run the c6 rims at all ?
@@gonzalosolorio9717 you can run OEM c6 wheels but may have to use spacers. The aftermarket c6 replica wheels generally are built with a different offset so you don't have to use spacers.
TWA Motorsports do you know any good spacers that are out there ?
Or do you know if i get longer studs if im able to clear like that ?
Do you know by any chance if the 17x4.5 will fit in the front but with a 5 x 4.50 bolt pattern thnkx
No it will not
What size tires did you use
All that info is in the video description with links👍
Looks good
Thank you
Wish I had known your wheels were for sale. How much did you get for them?
Steven Hare 500 for wheels only. I thought that was a good deal for both
TWA Motorsports Great deal I'd say!
Steven Hare that's what I thought
Picked up a set of speed lines with some barely used tires for $500 about a year ago! 👌🏽 love Em but I want something else now!! 🤙🏽
@@josevaldez9177 not a bad deal for sure.
I’m going to get these for my 98 gold bird.... nice rims

Are these two piece wheels n 100 aluminum?
100%*

Badass wheels i have both wheels lol but u should of kept the stock wheels too there hard to find
ceidy perez they were not perfect or I would have.
Hi,, Will the wheel sizes you used on your ws6 fit on a trans am? lowered 1.2 inch
Yes but you may have to clearance a little in the back. Check out my fender rolling video on my Camaro.

I've always like the factory WS6 wheels.
They are ok
What size tire did you go with in the rear?
315/35
Thank You!
Cool...
Thank you
Looks badass
Thank you
We went with 18 inch REV Pontiac Rally replica wheels on 40 series redline low profiles.
But then, we're just a loley v6,...turbocharged 425 horse ( supposedly Trans am wanna be) that gets away with more car, at less cost.
Bet that looks great
How much did you lower it?
Probably 1.5" This was factory cut springs. Going to coilovers now.
Thanks I’ll try to cut mine too I watched your video
Look’s good 👍
Thank you
What backspace did you use?
7.75 bs rear. 7.25 bs front.

How much did u pay for lugs nuts and wheels all together
I'm not sure. I listed the links below. Probably 1200ish

ceidy perez ok. You want a cookie or some?
To each his own
Yep
What heads do you got on there?
Stock 241s

17x11. I think they are listed in the video description
Nice bruh👍
Jake Gatica thank you
Is that stock ride height?
No
What setup is it? Car looks amazing
Stock cut springs
That wide of tires on the back and you will wind up with rock chips in the paint
I agree it could get more now but price to pay for wide rears 👍
wide rears do look mean ass hell on a 4th T/A

Not to bug on torque thrusts.. but nice car man.
LSX 2015 thank you. I understand they are not for everyone.
TWA Motorsports Yeah I like them but I'm big on drag set ups. I do like those for a good street set. That paint looks extremely clean man. Any special product you use for cleaning/buffing/waxing your car? I have an 04 GTO the paint is very nice but I feel like it could use a little more shine lol...
LSX 2015 I gotcha. I like the drag set up too but drive it on the street a lot. I did a paint correction on it. Took about 17 hours. I use pinnacle wax as a top coat.
TWA Motorsports Thanks I'll look into that and let you know how it goes!
