When I do this, the shadow catcher plane just turns solid black. Blender 2.93. EDIT: Transparency must be enabled under Render Properties - Film. That fixes it.

I thought this process that you’re doing in the video was too complicated, that’s why i tried to test other methods. I could have saved 20-30 hours of frustration if i tried this method right away. ‼️ Tip for the others: You have to set some kind of grey color in the World Properties tab in Layout and then adjust the slider of the Strength right underneath the Color until there isnt a difference anymore between your background and the reflective floor. Like if this helped You
I spent 6 years in production house, it's not about matter but this a better practice for different 3d program as well... Rise yourself if something is done without following the correct method that doesn't mean that you got perfect solution

Why did you subdivide the plane so much?
To match Video Aspect Ratio with plane texture

Don't subdivide ,it will work without loop cut

i dowloaded blender 2.9 but option under visivility shadow catcher is not showing... what is that? thanks
I think you are trying this on Eevee Engine, Try with cycles
