  • After catching multiple fish in just 35 minutes a few days before, today couldn’t have gone any more different if it tried!

    There's a weed over here called Didymo ( rock snot!) that grows like a slimy algae all over the rocks and it destroys water quality. Transferred by boats and nets etc. It's a real problem so it's great you took the time to bring it up about that weed you have.

      Rock snot! 😂 sounds a right nightmare and similar issues as to here, just a different sort. With all the board moving out for the good weather and festivals due it spreads like wildfire. Then anglers unwittingly transferring it

      @@BlackCountryPiker The Teme has always been pretty good for barbel in previous years but I think I'm going to get the BFS setup on it and target some of the chub for a few sessions.

      @@BlackCountryPiker browns, rainbows and grayling I've been told - though truthfully I've never caught one or tried catching them from the Teme - definitely worth considering. I've seen some pictures of salmon from it too

    In my crayfish trapping days, iv found these nets illegally placed right by my nets but obviously I was fully legal with licences attached to my traps and with landowners permission. So I done the right thing and took them home with me and straight in the bin. Our fellow migrants love eating crayfish back in their home country so they often trap for them on our canals.
    The EA will (used to) grant you a licence to trap for invasive crayfish on the canals but the CRT have banned all trapping on canals due to the hazard of them being caught up in boat propellers

      Spot on matey, not many know you need a licence 👍.

    I enjoy watching your videos but find myself cringing and shouting at the TV... You keep these fish (pike) out of the water far too long while you're talking to us... Please put the fish back sooner... You have them out so long they even stop thrashing...

    • @BlackCountryPiker
      @BlackCountryPiker  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi, I am sorry you feel this way but I assure you all the fish I catch go back perfectly well. Fish will always thrash about once or first brought out of the water as they will be fully recovered. All the fish I catch are well rested up before hand and then once again before being released. I have caught pike for many years now and know how to handle them. There are other channels/videos you will find that have fish out far longer. Again, sorry if this offends you 👍

      @@BlackCountryPiker no you don't offend me in any way and looking back at it again I see there a many edit cuts we don't notice so it's very possible my opinion is wrong... Carry on what you're doing I feel certain you would not do anything to hurt the fish and ignore my critique ❤️👍

      @@MrBoshysTube I welcome all feedback and it’s good to know you look out for poor angling. You are right, there’s always lots of cuts/edits to shorten things so it doesn’t get boring.

    Considering you are an angling trust bailiff should you be encouraging anglers to fish illegally?
