I bought one of these for a big deck I am rebuilding. I am having issues with the screw head moving around, it is causing the screw to miss the corner of the trex and go into the joist.
Hi Greg, Because the screw needs to auger first, there is a bit of a learning curve with using DRIVE for Edge fastening on harder surfaces. Here are some steps to follow for better success: With the DRIVE tool in position and the orange nose piece leveling guide flat to the board surface you're ready to begin. (For right handed user) 1. Grip the DRIVE handle securely with your left hand and focus on very firm downward pressure making sure that the nose of the tool stays in place on the board edge and that the orange nose is level with the top of the deck board. Do not let the nose push away from the edge. As long as you maintain firm contact with the placement of the tool nose piece, the fastener will enter in the right position at the right angle each time. 2. With your right hand, engage the drill gently and running at maximum rpms apply gentle constant pressure allowing the bit to engage with the screw head and for Edge rake tip screw to auger the surface of the deck board. "WARNING" Applying too much pressure with the right hand will have the unintended effect of pushing the nose of the tool away from the board edge causing the fastener to enter in the wrong position or slide down the board edge altogether. Applying too much pressure with the right hand can also force the screw into the board causing mushrooming at the screw entry point. Key points for success are: Very firm grip and pressure with left (handle) hand - keeping tool secured to edge of decking Light pressure with right (drill) hand - let the screw spin and auger as it was designed to do There is a learning curve to the feel with this type of material, but with a little practice it will become second nature.
@@bnrlabs5923 Because it split just about every board which also causes the board spacings to stuff up. The screws sometimes spin eternally before starting. It was very frustrating.
I have also used this on Merbau, the 1st screw bit shattered one the 1st screw, split about every other board driving these in and don't believe the hype once these are in you won't be able to remove them without damaging the board. Very time consuming..Thankfully it was my mates deck !!
It depends on which fastener you are using. For CAMO Clips, you must start at 30% of the maximum possible torque setting. For CAMO Face and Edge fastening, you may use the maximum torque. There is a built-in clutch on the DRIVE tool that will release at the proper depth of drive setting for face and composite screws.
So innovative!
I will definitely use it when we install our new deck. My knees will appreciate it!
😮🤔🤣👍👍❤️😊
What a great tool, now I only need to find a place where I can buy boards that are straight and evenly milled....
Interesting new product for securing deck boards . I’ve seen the old style one thanks for sharing .
Nicely done Mark!
Does the edge screw work on solid edge azek?
Ok but how do you take it out for future repairs?
Simply unscrew the screw!
Does this tool work on plywood subflooring?
Wondering if I can buy just enough clips to do the area by the house that I can't angle the impact driver at a 45

GREAT VIDEO BRO! KEEP IT UP.
Would this work on hardwood, like Merbau?
I just used this system on a 19mm Merbau deck. Never again.
Why not?

Awesome
Is there a recommended torque for the drill as to not snap heads?

@@CAMOFasteners,
I used your toop for my 12x20 and 6x6 deck and it was awesome. Highly recommended
@@ZIGAFPD1 Awesome! We're so glad to hear that you were pleased with our new products! We'd love to see photos of your new deck!
How do you use this on the first board against the house and on steps bay the treads?
Face screw and plugs
Also, how do you fit a board that is parallel to a wall?
Face nail or screw.
wow amazing
I like jobs quick.... I'd use this.
camera man failed, spent more time filming the Host then the product. How about showing the work end of the fastener.
thats why I gave a thumbs down.
And though I like the product that guy is a bit much.
How about you actually show WTF IT’S DOING! instead of showing the guy talking! Horrible camera guy! Way to show off your product!
