@@justinehorton2527 so you can imagine how much fun it is to watch perfect curls pop out of that Denman brush! Sooo satisfying 😍. I start at the root though. More to curl.
@@TheTjoy910 I understand, though sadly no matter how I work it I don't get the perfect ringlet curls. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I'll try again when my hair gets longer again.
This method changed my hair completely! I have been a subscriber for a while and have followed a lot of ur methods, but THIS ONE....GIRL!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 . Btw teaching me how to strangle with the Denman brush to defining the ends 🙌🏾 AMAZING! the only thing I switched up as applying gel from root to end since my roots were poofy. Thank you so much!!!
The denman makes my roots puffy and frizzy as well, so I'll try this technique, that's if I can get this brush to go through my thick kinky hair which the denman brush has a hard time doing regardless is my hair is thoroughly detangled or not.
kikicouture10 hey chica maybe try taking out every other row! I have kinky hair as well and after removing some rows it definitely glides more easily and doesn't rip our my hair!
Ashley N. Linen hi, I have modified it and have been trying to get it to go through my hair for years. My ends are so tightly coiled and my hair is dense.
kikicouture10 Denman also has a version for thick coarse hair. It's completely black (including bristles) and the back has a matte finish unlike the original. I got it at Sally's for about 13 dollars. Anyways my hair is super thick & dense and my ends are really coily but this version of the brush works for me. I do work the brush thru my hair vertically like Kelsey mentioned ends 1st and take my time but it works out great!
I’m so glad I’m not the only one with this problem! We must have very similar hair texture because literally the brush does not go through my hair and makes my ends very poofy as well. I have to do my hair in very small sections with the Denman brush to get any sort of result and then by that stage I might as well finger coil
i'm just glad someone finally has a remedy for this denman brush lol.. it put fear in my heart forever ago so it's just been under the sink collecting dust! your hair turned out beautifully, so i'll definitely be trying this out! 💕
Kelsey! Can you do a full curly hair routine with your favourite products. Your full routine Shampoo, Deep conditioning, conditioning, LOC method and anything else you do. Can you also include how often you do each step etc. You haven't done a curly hair routine in a minute! LOVE YOU X
Honestly being someone affected by hurricane Harvey, this video was such a highlight/relief! I've been watching you and Kendra for so long. Definitely my favs on here. 😘
Girllllll I'm about to purchase this brush 👀👀 I've heard of people using it, but I've never seen an in depth tutorial on how to use it. Your hair looks BOMB
Yo I thought the denman brush was just only making the top of my hair frizzy. Good to know that someone else was having the same issue to. Thanks for showing us a technique on how to use the denman brush. Will definitely try!
Fasika Estifanos I use to just brush it through from tip to root, but just like she said it makes my roots frizzy soooo I'm gonna try her technique the next time I do a wash n go. I never thought to just use it on my ends.
Su and Lu Vlogs Hopefully you’ve purchased the Denman brush by now, but yes; that is a perfect brush for every hair texture. Take care, Verlena 4 VelinaTheFlutterby💕🦋🦋
Girls, I've watched every single video on this and the vlog channel and I have to say that I'm so proud of you ladies. I've been with you both since your first video and I'll be around until you ladies move on to better things. Keep up the amazing work!
Hey beautiful this was wonderful and God bless you for giving prompts to another sister! I am transitioning my hair but with help from my BFF who is a stylist!
I just want to say I absolutely love you guys. I was wondering if it's possible you guys could do an update tutorial on lip combos? absolutely love that last one you guys did way back.
I used to curl my hair with a flat iron using that technique wow I can't believe I never thought to use my denman brush that way. Lol I love how healthy your hair looks btw ❤️
How do you sleep on wet or semi wet hair without it being puffy and frizzy the next morning? Everytime y'all do routines y'all say "it might be later on today... it might be tomorrow" and I'm over here like "HOW?" mine is flat, puffy, frizzy and tangled the next morning if I do that. Yalls hair give me life and length hope! 😍
I was just coming here to watch the video because I love you and Kendra. But I ended up learning something new. I've used the Denman since forever and I just be pulling out my poor little strands. Now I see I should be more gentle and less rushed. Thanks Kelsey! You rock!
Thanks for the technique. My hair is same pattern as you, bra length and I tried using my brush twice and was ripping it out. I'm gonna try again as you suggest, vertical to detangle and then flip for curling the end. Also, can you do a tutorial on your natural makeup look. You are beautiful.
I've also used this brush to define my curls and I'm a 4C ! It works great also to get your products though your hair ! LOVE YOU GUYS SOOOO MUCH KEEP DOING GREAT THINGS !
O MY GOSH, that technique is fire for you. Your hair is bbbooommmmbbbbb!!!!!! The definition is priceless. It looks like you used a curling iron. I absolutely love it.
Just started using the brush, makes my hair a bit shorter but I love the curls. I do it at night on wet conditioned hair, then I cover it with a hair bag to keep it moist overnight, when Morning hits my hair is awesome, just add no frizz to it and go.
Shrinkage is quite the phenomenon. Looking back at your videos that you all showed your hair Journey reminds me of mine so I'm hopeful that I can get my hair to look even close to as healthy as you all's hair
The curls in the back of my head are super defined on their own but the front has no definition so I'm going to try this method and pray it helps. You are my healthy hair inspiration
This is SUPER awesome! I've used my Denman brush for over a decade but never in this way. I can't wait to try this technique. Thanks mucho for sharing! 💕💕
Just did this technique after watching the video.. And I will say it actually was good. I always brushed out my tangles with the brush horizontally.. But vertically does work better for me.
I use the denman brush all the time to detangle and define, and yes the shrinkage is extra turnt up when you use it, but I might try this technique just to see if it works better! Thanks for sharing!
eVaniwithaV most ppl don't realize that the rows on this brush are removable. You can remove every other row to accommodate it to your specific hair. If adjust it, it will glide better from root to tip. And, the more rows you leave on, the more definition and shrinkage. If you want less of that, adjust it by removing some rows. There are videos on how to remove it.
I have done that before, it does help for sure, and Naptural85's video is great for learning how to remove/modify them. I had my old denman for 5 years and it started to wear down so i recently bought another and i kept all the rows in for now. It's such a versatile brush and literally the best detangling/ defining brush I've ever tried.
I can't wait to try this. I'm transitioning. Most of my hair is natural but I wear my hair straightened all the time. I'm trying to find creative ideas on how to wear my natural hair while transitioning but it's really hard. I'm addicted to the flat iron. But whenever I do cut off the rest of my texturized hair, I'm going to try this. I use the brush already for detangling anyway and it does define my natural curls.
Omg!! I've always loved the look of your wash and go's but this new denman brush technique has taken it to a whole nother level!! I absolutely LOVE the look of the ringlets at the end (and all throughout). I'll have to try this technique one day.
Girlllll, I thought it was just me. Whenever I use the Denman brush on my hair it always makes my roots puffy but the ends comes out poppin. Thanks for the video!
I never knew you were supposed to brush vertically to detangle!! lol. I tried this method after having my denman brush for like 5 years and I love it!! Thank you :)
I ran across her video (Dan C) some months ago and ever since I've been doing my wash and gos the same exact way. Your results look really good definitely keep using this technique!
I've seen other people do it just on the very ends. Seems to be a popular method. I have a Denman but I feel it tugs at my scalp whenever I detangle with it. I have been using a Tangle Teezer for over a decade now and that thing never tugged at my scalp. The Denman is fairly new, but I think I have yet to find a use for it. I might try this!
Marleen G. If you remove every other row, it won't tug so Much or rip your hair out. The way u know you're using it correctly is when it glides smoothly from root to tips with no tare. But you have to adjust the brush's rows first.
Is it weird that I really feel like I love you guys & I don't even know you. I really can't wait to meet you I've been a silent subscriber for a while but you guys are my favorite RUclipsrs & I never miss a video. Hair came out great as usual❤️
Gorgeous! I had the same problem with my roots getting frizzy when using my denman brush, so I can't wait to try this technique on my next wash and go!
Indya Ajai most ppl don't realize that the rows on this brush are removable. You can remove every other row to accommodate it to your specific hair. If you want less of that, adjust it by removing some rows. There are videos on how to remove it. You might even experience less frizz. I remember I use to experience frizz on my roots before I found out I could remove some of the rows on the brush. I don't get frizz anymore. I wish she would've mentioned that the rows are adjustable.

OMG, Kelsey you are gorgeous at the beginning. I had to pause it just to type this. I look forward to the demo, because I tried the Denman brush earlier in my transitioning from heat damage and it didn't work. So I appreciate you doing a demo. I will probably repurchase to try it again.
Just learned how to crack the code in denman for the roots. Smooth the entire section vertically, and curl only the ends. Don’t think she showed that in the video the denman smooths the frizz on the root when you do it that way -
Thank you for this. I did a wash n go a few days ago and my roots were a ball of frizz but the ends were perfectly curled. I will try turning the brush vertically, then curling the roots.
I am SO shook, I’ve had a brush like this since beauty school AND NEVER DID THEY TEACH ME BOUT IT; I’m so thankful and my curls are thankful to you, god bless ma, lmao

Marleen G. Did you know this brush is adjustable? You can take out every other row. It'll glide better and you it won't make your curls shrink so much
Marleen G. If you remove every other row, it won't tug so Much or rip your hair out. The way u know you're using it correctly is when it glides smoothly from root to tips with no tare. But you have to adjust the brush's rows first.
Ann Rey, I have the wide version - they do sell them like that. No need for me to adjust the brush. :)
Marleen G. I use the Tangle Teezer as well. I may have to try in on my Tangle Teezer
Wow! I've had my brush for YEARS and have never tried it like this. I can't wait to try it.

Your hair looks amazing! You and Kendra were literally the very first youtubers I ever watched about 5 or 6 years ago and it was the 10 tips to long healthy hair video. You all literally SAVED my hair! Love y'all! ❤️
Curls so springy 😍. It looks really good
Seeing this just made me go to Sally's and get a denman brush 😂 I'm trying this technique out tomorrow.
Your results are gorgeous! 😍
Girlllllllll, you changed the detangling game by using the denman vertically!!!! I've pulled out a lot of hair! I'll definitely be trying that next time
