Thank you "Voted Best Hair" I'm finally getting to the how to fix it phase of my curly girl journey. I've been natural forever but I was damaging my hair and destroying my curl pattern in so many ways. I'm super grateful to all the ladies and guys willing to take the time and teach us who, for whatever reason didn't learn these tips for happy healthy hair.
I have 2c/3a hair and I just tried it on my hair dry since tomorrow is a wash day for me. I was amazed to see is still gave me beautiful defined curls. I may be able to just wet my hair and do this tomorrow instead of a full wash. AMAZING!!!
@@imanikyrah6198 Yea no. Breakage is not a characteristic of curly hair though. That is a characteristics of kinky hair. Perhaps the person who made that comment is not kinky curly but just curly and that method works for them.
Gurrrl, whatchu say? You can take the bristles out,😲 I've been looking for a 5 bristle Denman brush it makes my curls bigger n juicier 😊about to remove a few rows from this 9 bristle brush. Omg, I never knew, THANX
My goodness, I use the same brush has yours. I always use my Toothbrush for clean. Which I don't need any longer. I was so surprised 😮. Thanks for sharing so useful. Just started my curls journey.
I'm pretty sure a fine tooth comb would have the same effect. I remember doing this a child when I was playing with my mom's hair! Thanks for the tip with the brush though! Gave me an idea to try with mine!
This video showed up under my recommendations just before I was getting ready to wash my hair! 💖🥰 I'm going to try this technique today! Thanks for the video! 💐🌺 Your hair is beautiful!
@@votedbesthair1248 My hair came out beautiful! First I tried it with a leave in conditioner and gel. Then after 3 days I tried it with conditioner only. I preferred the conditioner only. Thank you so much! 💖🌺
Thank you very much. This is the first full video I’ve watched out how to use the Denman brush to define curls. You were very clear and simple with it. Thank you. I now look forward to finding a Denman brush near where I live, and using it every now and then for this purpose.
How do you keep your hair so smooth! And easy to run your fingers through. My daughter is adopted and I try so hard to take good care of her hair. I do the loc method and do hair masks but its still so hard to brush through idk what im doing wrong. Any tips would be amazing.
I love my Denman brush! I finally started using it a few months ago. I found a way to use it and avoid so much shrinkage, too. I made a video of it on my channel!
Using all that product doesn’t leave your hair “gummy”, sticky and dried out the next day? How long does that last? Do you have to reapply the next morning?
Hello! I don't typically have an issue with that. Adding the supercurl really helps my hair to say moisturized and not dry. This will last me about 3-4 days. I do not reapply in the morning. I'll typically just add some oil to my hair in the morning and that's it.
You're hair looks fab. The ringlet at the end appeared straight away. My curls get a little ringlet like that at the end sometimes, and I love it...maybe Ive been doing it accidentally with my Denman? .Im gonna be doing this in the morning, A bit of normality, frivolity, in these strange times, thanks, God bless
I watched that video too and tried this out it worked so well then I watched the video of the girl that the twin said she saw this on her hair was amazing as well. Love my denman brush
We have literally the exactttt same hair. Same length, same pattern, same everything. It even looks the same when it’s wet😭 I’m waking up at 4 am to try this for picture day I’ll update y’all
Looks amazing!!! We have the same type hair. I am trying to figure out how to do a voluminous curly fro. LOVE LOVE LOVE your final result. You let it air dry? How long does it take to air dry?
Once it dries is it safe to still use a paddle brush / comb to detangle the hair afterwards or would it be best to finger detangle the hair? Also can you still moisturize the hair every 3 days (or as needed) as usual or would that weigh the hair style down? [I've never done my own hair and I always wanted to try this some day, but I'm not sure of maintenance and all] Thank you :) Edit: Do you let it air dry or do you blow dry it? Or neither?
How do you keep your two outside rows from spreading out over time ans basically pulling at your hair? I do not remove any rows it works on my hair nicely as is
I'm definitely more like a 3b 3c...so I couldn't say for sure because I've never tried it on any other hair type. Perhaps you could try and see how it works. We all know everything ain't for everybody, but it's always worth a try if you like my results. Thanks for watching!
How does the brush slide through everyone’s hair so smoothly? I’m new to the Denman and it just gets stuck and pulls my hair. I’ve tried using it for defintion after putting in both my leave-in conditioner and curling cream. My hair is still damp and has already been detangled, but the brush doesn’t budge. I’ve tried smaller sections too. What am I doing wrong? 😩
I have to be honest, this video was filmed almost 3 years ago so I don't remember. I'd say it typically takes me about 30 mintues to style my entire head and another 1-2 hrs for it to dry.
I JUST bought this brush today and was thinking of removing the bristles every other row but after seeing this I might try it with all bristles first. I have been scared to use it because my hair is thin but I finally bit the bullet and purchased. Did you air dry? You hair came out sooo voluminous!
Sally's she said . They run about 19.99 but they have a knock off one for 15.99. I got that one. It works the same. Just no ball on on the end of the bristles.
I'm not that familiar with either, but I guess you could say it does the shingling method. I think the brush helps to distribute the product throughout each strand of hair while creating a defined curl. Perhaps I can try each method in my next video! Thank you for the question and thank you for watching!

While brushing with the Denman brush I think your hair should be a bit more wet to define your curls even more
Marie Lou definitely!
Could break off your hair that way though the wetter your hair is the more vulnerable it should be Rambo for styling
@@onomatoponia1758 lol she was all like yeah yeah do this and u were like no I have curly hair I know thank u very much🤣🤣cringey but funny(my comment
@@imanikyrah6198 Yea no. Breakage is not a characteristic of curly hair though. That is a characteristics of kinky hair.
Perhaps the person who made that comment is not kinky curly but just curly and that method works for them.
@@onomatoponia1758 For coily hair it is less likely to break when wet. However for straighter hair it is best to brush dry. God bless

At the end do you let your hair air dry or do you use a diffuser to dry it?
I know this is from 2017, but this just blew my mind!
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous

Does this method help with shrinkage? Because I love the curls that the denman brush gives my hair, but I hate the shrinkage that it gives as well..
I actually think this method does cut down on the shrinkage. Try it out and see how it works for you!
wohld the denman brush work on 4c hair?

I really like the way that your hair turned out. Does this work on 4A hair? I ask because yours looks like it's more in the 3s.

Can this technique then be used with just any brush?
Julia Cox no
I've never tried it with any other brush so I can't be sure, but I guess it's worth a try?!
so do I comb and brush after washing and conditioning?
can you tell me what type of hair towel that is or where I can buy it?
