It's not a strong genre on the system but I like playing sports games like Madden and MLB the show on my Vita, which I love for franchise modes because I can always drop in and out of my games at my convenience and I kind of have that similar feeling to what Greg described about Minecraft

Persona 4 Golden is in my top 5 games ever. Personal favorite on the vita for sure.

Yep. Been a gamer since I was old enough to move a mouse. And then a control pad. And Persona 4 golden revitalised my love of games in a way I wasn't expecting. The story and characters hit me like a truck, and the gameplay, while being a bit grindy, was overall super fun. I played it on and off for an entire year, finished it twice and i'm sure will get the urge to revisit it one day. A total game changer.
I forgot it was PS I Love You XOXO day today.

I platinumed Hitman: GO as well. I played through it a little differently though, I wouldn't move on to the next level until I had all three stamps on the level I was on. Great game, and some really tricky levels!

Gravity Rush is my favorite Vita game.
My favorite Vita game as well, though I did like the PS4 remaster better. Cleaned up some of the things that annoyed me about the Vita release.

Not the best but Lone Survivor is an excellent and underrated game for the PSVita, excellent story but it does required viewing all the endings to understand the story
Hotline Miami opened up a whole new genre of music to me.

killzone mercenary was my 2nd favorite killzone game after killzone 2. I played the hell out of that game on the vita... even online, too.
Hotline Miami 1 & 2 are a must have on the PS Vita! :)

I'm shocked that barely anyone mentions Steins;Gate or gives it the time of day. P4G may be the best game overall I've played, but Steins;Gate's story was mind-boggling and had a great cast of characters. Possibly the best story in a game. But it's all subjective.
Just got my refurbished Vita today. Downloaded P4 Golden and PS All-Stars.
Know some of these are ports but I played them and enjoyed them most on Vita :)

Jakob Peter Christiansen I got a Vita last year after one of their lists and I love it. i think it is head and heels better than 3ds but I have both. only thing that sucks is memory. u should just suck it up and pay 60-80 for biggest memory card you can. it'll be worth it in the long run. also, PS + has free games on Vita every month if u have that (usually terrible, but free)
Brogan Trull Thanks Brogan. That is excellent advice. I will definitely look into it. I already have PS+ and have been collecting everything for both Vita, PS3/4 for the last 2 years so I should be good on something to start up with at least, among those Rogue Legacy 👍
I actually platinumed Hitman Go without using a guide. It took a little longer that way, but was very proud of myself. Haha

Danganronpa 2 does hold up to 1, keep playing Colin! ;)
Brogan Trull yep, I had the same initial feeling after meeting the new cast and not being as into them, but by the end up it I felt like Danganronpa 2 was a quite a bit better than one, and it's twist was way more of a mindfuck than anything in the first game
Yeah. I'm in agreement that the first one felt special, but that has more to do with being the first one you play. I prefer the cast in the first one too, since they feel a bit more relatable. But the 2nd game is better in terms of sheer content, story twists, and just as an overall package - it's everything the first one was plus more.
Cool to see an OWC ad. They are a great resource. Not sure why they wouldn't advertise as Other World Computing though.
Whenever Colin talks about Hyper Light Drifter is just painful to hear. It's not complicated man, and everyone else that played it knows. Just kill the foes and turn your brain on, that's how games works. It sucks because this game is a mix of everything he keeps annoyingly repeating that he "likes", plus it was amazingly crafted in a very unique way, like Bastion, Miami and other great indies, but then he gives the most obnoxious reasons to not giving it an honest effort.
His loss.
The stomach growl during the silence at 1:20:49 just made me cackle like a madman.
Guys nice list, good job for praising some foreign games and also indie games because that is what's VITA all about that is why I love this console. FFS every indie game should be made exclusively for VITA and not PS4 maybe that way VITA could have been a fenomen.

I got a vita for Christmas! I have 3 years of ps plus games to get through though too including Uncharted and Killzone which is good. Got to get one of those bloody memory cards first though.
Colin, i'm sure many people have told you that, but danganronpa 3 is an anime and it ends the whole danganronpa, danganronpa 2 and another episode story arc. The danganronpa 3 you are talking about is called V3 and it seems to be almost unrelated to the other games.
Wow, I never thought Colin loved Shovel Knight THAT much. It's a typical Colin-game, and I really like it as well, but I've barely ever heard Colin talk about it and praise it so I'm kinda surprised.

That's my list, but there are so many great games on Vita. And I feel many people forget you can play a lot of PS2 HD ports (Ratchet, Metal Gear, Sly, Jak, God of War...) and PSone games on it. It's the perfect handheld in my opinion.
I love me some Vita, I play it more than PS4 for sure, and still haven't come close to exhausting the excellent library.

Highly recommend Risk of Rain on Vita. Really addictive 2D rogue-lite shooter with a variety of unique classes, an amazing OST, and a neat difficulty hook that becomes increasingly more brutal the longer you take to beat it. Also a great co-op game.
Persona 4 Golden may be my favorite Vita game of all time, but there's no game I've played more than Risk of Rain. VVVVVV is another great to-go platformer that's easily digestible in about 2 hours. Axiom Verge is another must-play, I think.
I tried to get into Freedom Wars, but no matter how much I played it I couldn't get past the garbage controls.
I loved Olli Olli 2. Great gameplay, visuals, and soundtrack. That game never got the attention it deserves.
Danganronpa is my no.1 Vita game. Colin is right. (as always) More people need to play this game and hopefully they will on PS4, but it is at home on the Vita

Yeah, I love it. Graphics aren't exactly up to par with PS3 but the gameplay was as smooth as I was hoping for.

I just came back to Bastion after a year away to platinum it as well, coincidentally. Amazing game.

I bought a Vita in 2012 just to have portable Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and it has proven to be a great investment.
I love these guys so much. I really do and I have been here for god knows how long. I have a PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, PSP and a Vita. I play the Vita most frequently out of all of them but none of them are my most played system, thats the PC. I really do love you guys but I genuinely feel not welcome within this community because of how they talk about the PC. This also pushes other members of the community to be really hateful towards anyone who mentions it. I can apprectiate every platform no matter what, just wish other people would too.
This probably won't get a lot of votes, But Zen Pinball 2 in my opinion is one of the great Vita titles, perfect game for a handheld, those tables are amazing and you can play it in widescreen or tall screen, and they are still adding content on it and it's all cross buy, and if you go online your rankings go across all ps consoles

Yo, no love for Trails of Cold Steel & Trails of Cold Steel II. Far and away the best JRPGs on Vita. I love Persona 4 Golden, but Trails is on another level. Seriously awesome.

I read an article a couple years ago about how Sony accidentally created the first successful post retail console in the Vita and its funny because it's accurate. People who talk about how Vita is dead and has no games largely base those comments on how small or nonexistent the Vita section is at their local game store, how it's never advertised of showcased at big consumer expos. But really the Vita kind of feel into an ecosystem where it really didn't need those things and contrary to some people's belief it's actually done quite well for itself.
What's the time stamp for their brief "discussion" on when we should have bought the vita?

Great handheld, got mishandled. Persona 4 Golden is my No. 1, arguably the best JRPG I've played ever. Honorable mentions: Sound Shapes, Thomas Was Alone and Super Stardust Delta. Great games

I actually just bought my first vita game in the longest time 2 weeks ago, Lara Croft GO, and am really enjoying playing it while I wait for my girlfriend to get off work or waiting for friends to pick me up before we go out. It's super fun and the level design is great and I really enjoy getting trophies on the go
I have one, but the console is dead. Attention should be focused on the future, not stuck in the past.

the vita is near to its end but its not dead yet actually, wouldnt be surprised if sony discontinues it over here in the west at the end of 2017 though

Yes, Colin saying Velocity Ultra is better than Velocity 2X! My boy! Velocity 2X got so much more buzz around its release and no one payed attention to Velocity Ultra. I goddam love that game!
killzone shadowfall is very underrated

There was no mention of World of Final Fantasy and FFX/X2 HD collection!!! But I agree with both lists for the most part. HOWEVER my #1 Vita game is probably Dynasty Warriors 8 empires. I always wanted a DW Empires games to play on the go and I finally got it ^~^ (but WoFF was fucking amazing, who care if it doesn't look as pretty as the PS4)
I think I'm gonna play rogue legacy again. I never beat it I got to the end boss but never beat him. a new start would be fun.
The only game I've bought for my Vita was Wipeout 2048. The rest is from PS plus.
Wow, so many of these games are either mobile or PC games. If somebody is going to buy a Vita, they probably already have the means to play most of these games on a different platform.

I was broken and just balling at DCUO, and i never brought games for my PSP so I passed
always loved the vita, just a damn shame it restricted itself so much with thoughs damn memory cards. So many first party ip's that Sony could have pushed on to the system too and either made remastered versions or completely unique, new games that made us of the functionality of the system.
It's hilarious that I now have the Worst PSN Name of the Week. I do love being 'tetraninja321'(I used to have a thing for numbers. Weird, I know.), but with people mistaking me for someone else, I'd rather be 'JohnVuojo', which is my username on Steam and XB.
For Vita and 3DS owners (of both), which would you keep if you could only keep one? i guess for me its vita, but i looooove both so much. the new 3ds has greeeaat 3d and i love so many zelda and mario games for it....luigis mansion arrgghh so good. but the vita is so gorgeous and i DO have even more games for it and such a great diversity. and now finally got a ps4 and remote play?!?!? so awesome.
mobaby1979 I had zero interest in 3ds, until they announced a Persona game for it and then I ended up buying one specifically for that game. But I ended up being pleasantly surprised by how good that system was, it was actually better quality then I expected and once I started browsing its library, while not blown away, I was somewhat impressed by it too. And playing Mario and Zelda games again after all those years reminded me of what it was like when I first became passionate about this hobby. I would still keep my Vita 10/10 times over my 3ds, but I like my 3ds for different reasons than my Vita so they both have value to me
It'd be an extremely tough decision but I'd go with the Vita. Just has more of the type of games I like to play. I'm a huge fan of Uncharted so having a game in that series to play on the go along with Mortal Kombat 9 (my favorite fighting game since Street Fighter II and all its iterations) would win out.

5 to 7 seconds for vita load times? It's closer to 30. They're awful. But I still enjoy playing the game most on vita
