Don’t even own a Vita, but when you put Sly 4 and Persona 4 in the thumbnail how do I not click?
15 must have vita games
1. Persona 4 Golden
2. Severed
3. Danganronpa
4. Metal gear solid: peace walker
5. Metal gear solid: HD collection
6. Muramasa Rebirth
7. Freedom Wars
8. Rouge legacy
9. Gravity Rush
10. Valkiryia Chronicles 2
11. Hotline Miami
12. Tearaway
13. Patapon 3
14. VVVVVV
15. Sly Cooper: Theives in Time
Gravity Rush better be on this list!
Edit: Was not disappointed!
It would be awesome if you could throw a list up on screen while you talk or at least put a link to the list in the description for these types of episodes.
I remember within a year within my first job as a teen at the movie theater and listening to Greg and Colin talk so much about the vita on, I did an impulse buy and went to the nearest GameStop by the theater to get one. What was on display for vita? Freedom wars, and Greg knows about that bad boy. I asked the lady what she recommendeds and she said Persons 4 golden. And since then those were my two favorites. Rip to the store
Watching you guys talk about Vita just made my day. I absolutely hope you guys mention it more on your podcast in the future.
Speaking of MGS Peace Walker, I recently played Portable Ops on my vita and changed the console's config so as to use the second analog. The game's actually pretty great (makes a lot of sense of what transpires from PW onwards) and playing it on vita is probably the best (legal) experience you'll get.
Thank you for this episode. I was looking for a list of Must Have Vita games to add to my library before the store shuts down.
This is my first time tuning in via RUclips and that intro motion graphic is badass!!
Freedom Wars was a blast to play even in single player. Great great game
Persona 5 Royal has to be the book club at some point just to get Greg to finish it
and you know Blessing and Barrett would play it again
@@legendofhayden psh, I’m already almost 50 hours deep into a replay rn
Who can finish that in one month?
@@scroft03 I beat it in exactly one month when we originally got it last year...granted it was the beginning of shelter in place and I had a LOT of free time that first month working from home
You guys should show games u guys talk about when u guys r talking about them
Solid enough list, but I'd argue that if we're talking about truly must-play Vita games we have to disqualify stuff that's on other platforms, since those games aren't going to be lost forever. Maybe we do this again closer to August, as a kind of Last Call, and keep it to Vita exclusives that haven't been ported?
The PSOne Classic I played a bunch on Vita was Silent Hill. Had it as a kid (still do), but the convenience of it on the Vita was handy.
It wouldn’t have been my pick, but I’m surprised no one mentioned Spelunky on the Vita.
Blessed that track is stuck in my head aswell 🔥
Mcdonalds breakfast burritos with bacon added and dipped into their Salsa is still the GOAT
Tales of Hearts R was amazing in my opinion on Vita. It was the first time I had seen a fully realized 40+ hour Tales game on handheld. The story was great, the animation was fluid, combat was frantic. A gem really.
Gravity Rush 1 and 2 are so underrated. 2 other book club games to do IMO.
I’m glad Greg put Valkyria Chronicles 2 on the list. I still have it on my Vita. I even imported a copy of 3 to play on PSP.
Looking forward to The Blessing Show. I hope the King's Field games get some exposure.
other Great Vita Games not Mentioned in the Podcast that I Love: Axiom Verge, Child of Light, Hitman GO, Thomas was Alone, Velocity & Velocity 2X, Steam World Dig
Hearing them bring up Trails in the Sky brought so many emotions up. Such a great series
The whole Trails of series is my recently uncovered hidden gem. Love these games
@@stephenjohnston4697 Same. I'm on Trails in the Sky 2 and I finished Cold Steel 1 and 2 already
I'm only on TiTs FC, but it's great. I added the Japanese VA mod on pc as well. One Discord server I'm on has a channel just dedicated to Falcom games, so the Trails series (and Ys) are regularly talked about. Consensus on there seems to be that later Cold Steel entries (mainly 3 and 4) kind of hurt the series overall. Supposedly because they lean even more into the anime tropes, but in a cringy way. 🤷 A lot of the guys on there are currently playing through the Crossbell games, with GeoFront's massive translation projects.
@@War624 From what I've seen, TiTS and Crossbell are both masterpiece series. I've been enjoying TiTS way more than Cold Steel but I still think of those games fondly. I guess it'll really depend on how 3 and 4 live up to the other games but I plan on playing through all the games in the series before that. The plot hooks in CS2 went right over my head because I started with both of those games so now going back is filling in a lot of those blanks
@@sethpittmanandthem I've seen the guys on the server I was talking about saying the Crossbell games are the best ones. Just sucks there's no easy way to get them. Hoping they will be able to release them in the West at some point. The thing I find most impressive about the Trails series is the script size. It's insane. From what I understand they have the largest scripts of any game period.
I just bought a vita for a good price, time to earn those platinums on the go
I can't argue with this list at all, but I want to highlight the Persona Dancing games-- if you're a fan of rhythm games as well as Persona 3/4/5, I'd highly recommend giving them a shot. They are some of the most fun I've had with video games in recent memory!
Definitely, I bought a vita specifically to play p4g after beating p5 (this was like a month before the pc announcement) and I got one from eBay that came with physical p4g and p4 dancing and was pleasantly surprised with how fun the dancing game is
wipeout 2048, gravity rush, persona 4, killzone mercenary, guacamele, playstation allstars battle royale, uncharted golden abyss, metal gear solid hd collection, borderlands 2, helldivers, sly cooper thieves in time, ratchet and clank collection, Jake and daxter collection, every god of war up to 3.
these are the games I still have on my vita and play to this day.
For me Thomas Was Alone is a Vita game. I don't know if I would've been able to beat the upside down levels if I couldn't just flip my Vita around.
The idea that my 64gb memory card could just die one day is literally my worst nightmare
I think you can back up your games on your pc
Now that the store is shutting down im gonna hack my vita. Get an sd card adapter and never look back
@@ThaCodFathers I will do that when my backlog is finished and sony kills the possibility of downloading owned games
Apparently we should have just let the people in the chat pick all 15 because they were killing it, even with the nominees that didn't make it. You can't have this list without Danganronpa, Gravity Rush, and Tearaway.
Wow, I was looking at my photo gallery on my Vita. There's some memories here. I didn't have a phone at the time, I would just use the Vita.
That’s funny, I played VVVVVV on 3DS the most
I'll always love you P4 Golden.
Well Vita is best for Remote Play than anything else, which makes it still my favorite gaming system of all time. I played the Warframe & The Witcher 3 on my Vita and it was great. But if you gotta buy Vita games before they're gone, you can't forget Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remastered.
Personally best game I ever played on vita was probably Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.
An hour long bus ride just to get to work???
That’s wild to me.
Between PSP and PS1, Final Fantasy 1-9 are all on Vita and I'm tempted to get them all
Many of them were so good and cannot be find anywhere else since they came out on the Vita.
I'm holding off on ratchet & clank until that 60fps patch comes next month.
“Today”
@@nicknorthrip Just seen that. I'll have to jump back in!
Muramasa is fantastic. I never played it on Vita but it was a standout on Wii.
The Vita version has improved optimisation and gameplay I believe, and also was completely re-translated since the Wii version's localisation was notoriously bad. On top of that, the Vita version has exclusive DLC campaigns with new characters, bosses and stories (which will be going away forever once the store's closed) all of which are vastly better than the main game, even.
I was stumping for Virtue's Last Reward this whole episode and I failed in my tirade for my favorite Vita game.
In my opinion PSP games should have their own video. The reason for this is one analog stick versus to the PSP was able to accomplish more with less
I made my own list of the games I played the most on Vita midway through the video... and none of my top 15 came out. They were so many good games on this system. RIP VITA ;)
I hope danganronpa or the nonary games are on this list
Excited for the game club! #PSWePlayedThis
It's ironic that Greg's Gravity Rush review ends with "don't expect it to justify purchasing your Vita". After playing the demo for it at a Gamestop, I knew I had to get a Vita. And once I finally saved enough money to buy one, I adored every second I spent with Kat.
Is it the best Vita game? No, that's P4G or Tearaway. But it shows a side of Sony I miss: creative gameplay concepts, likable characters in a charming world, great presentation, a timeless art style, and easily one of the best soundtracks in a 1st Party game (no bland ambient OST here).
It's a damn shame Sony sent the sequel to die in early 2017. While not as magical as the first, GR was a series that deserved more than it got from consumers and PlayStation.
Gravity Rush was awesome!
Shout out to the Team Fat segment at the top of the show :)
Oh shoot I'm playing freedom wars right now!
Just downloaded that
For those confused about the Legend of Heroes, Trails Of games, you are not alone. Trails of the Sky 1 and 2 were on Vita in the US but there are actually more Legend of Heroes games for the Vita that are currently Japan only. The titles not withstanding, it is undoubtedly one of the best rpg series of all time. It is the first time I have seen a narrative that actually keeps up and builds on each other smoothly as you play the different games. It’s all interconnected and brings a lot of political
intrigue. Can’t say enough about the writing, narrative, characters, combat, etc.
Its amazing none of my fav games made the list. Shows how deep the library was. Soul sacrifice, unit 13, dead nations and killzone mercenary all better than the ones listed imo
I dont ever want to go all digital
My must have Vita games are:
1. Muv-Luv trilogy
2. Hotline Miamis
3. Zero Escape: The Nonary Games
4. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
5. VA-11 Hall-A
6. Dragon's Crown
7. Hatsune Miku: Project DIVAs
8. FEZ
9. Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls
10. Trillion: God of Destruction
11. Mary Skelter: Nightmares
12. Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus
13. Nihilumbra
14. Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart.
15. XBlaze Code: Embryo
Sly thieves in time got in. Let’s go my fellow sly fans came to play
I just came here to say GIVE US MORE SLY, DAMMIT! Thank you.
No love for Soul Sacrifice Delta. 😔
Damn, I want a Vita now
I forgot they even made it to a third Patapon.
Hey Greg, could you maybe put up your full list on Twitter or on the Patreon or something?
@anotherbeforezero Thanks for the heads up!
Blessing that baby blue works my brother! Great & simple fit 🔥
Hey Greg, I saw your video on changing accounts on the Vita which was up nine years ago and you looked very handsome nine years ago with no face hair. :)
in south jersey wawa is where it’s at
the lack of GTA Chinatown Wars saddens me.
I am hoping we see more of these lists before we lose access to the PS3, Vita and PSP stores. I’d love to see lists that exclude games that are on other platforms and include games only available in digital form. Hopefully that will help many people get a chance to own and play some great games that may be lost to history soon.
The olderr lady from Ghost was Julie from F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Trails in the Sky and the series as a whole is life changing.
Also Zero/Azure>Sky>Cold Steel
ad ends 1:18:08
what was the detective game, Greg was talking about, that community recommended him? cant find it in video...
The name of the game is "Judgment" made by the studio famous for the Yakuza series.
Wish me luck, i'm gonna go trying to find a Vita 😅
Just tweeted the #psweplayedthis on twitter. Let's get it going!
Grey Miller
Lumines and VVVVV were both delisted - VVVVV was never physical
As of right now, it doesn't look like you can buy the Danganronpa games on the Vita. Apparently the series changed publishers last July and the games were pulled from the Vita store, but it looks like most can still be bought on PS4?
Let's will this into existence, Best Friends!!! ALL HAIL JOHNBX32!! #STARFIELD2021
Muramassa: Rebirth
Just dusted off my Vita for this.
The problem with this is the fact that vita has those expensive memory cards that regularly fail causing me to need to re-download the games every so often
Long live dead head Fred on PSP
How dare you guys not have Soul Sacrifice on here
It is such a crime that there are no Final Fantasy games on the list. Realistically I understand why you wouldn’t want two JRPGs on the psily list but I can’t recommend FFX/X-2 enough.
cries in littlebigplanet
Blessing didn't even consider Undertale?
can't lie Wendy's breakfast is pretty good tho.
I feel this is leaning towards backwards compatibility
You guys should do a must play VitaTV/ PSTV list since not all games work on that device and that is all I have :)
You mean Pain au chocolat. Not chocolate croissants
It’s already free on ps5
Its just an okay list, i thought its gona be a list of Games i will never play again after the stores closed, but almost half of the Games are Games i will still be able to play
Persona 4 Golden
Valkyria Chronicles 2
Gavity Rush
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
Patapon 3
Tearaway
Freedom Wars
Muramasa Rebirth
All great Games i can only play on the Vita or are PSP exclusives
all the others i can play on PC, Smartphones or on other systems, so there are still playable.
Why no:
Metal Gear Solid Acid 1 and 2
Final Fantasy Dissidia 1 and 2
Uncharted golden Abyss
Soul Sacrifice
Locoroco
and that just to name a few
i would like that you guys make a list of really great PSP and PS Vita Games i only can play on them.
But besides all the critic, it was a great PS I Love You
I’m gonna get my wallet ready to buy some Vita games.
Pog
I really want persona 4 Golden and all the Metal Gear games, but I don't want to reward them for shutting down the store.
It is hilarious to me that they aren’t playing Fallout 76 on Xbox since it has fps boost there but I guess this is how PC people feel about any console player.
Honestly, I do find Starbucks overrated. I like they're peach green tea, but found the breakfast wrap kinda mid. I much prefer the ones from Wawa. Way more customization.
Is it just me or did anyone else ever find that PlayStation all-stars played better on the vita?
What's the best way to get a Vita?
Mercari is great for buying vitas. Got an oled model with a memory card for $140 a few months ago
@@shreksdadiscool sorry is that a website?
@@robballer yes. You can also get the app on your phone
Blessing complaining about "Too Much Chocolate".....NO SUCH THING #chocolateforlife
What's a vita?
I'll probably never play a vita game ;-;
Why not put a hashtag and let it circulate in twitter so more opinions can come in? This will allow old Vita owners to refresh their library and get new potential owners an idea of what to get?
Each person has their own top games. I agree at almost all the games you picked here though.
Pretty sure 'squared circle' comes from Boxing, not Pro Wrestling
Idk about anyone else but to me that psp dissidia was a billion times better than the ps4 one that came out. Idk why they changed the system so much
STEINS;GATE 💪
Nearly 6 minutes of ads not even counting RUclips ads come on guys
It's bad enough how you say croissant, but you said it wrong over and over and over it was painful
