I love Lanzar equipment. Back in the late 90s Lanzar brought one of their demo vehicles to a local shop. It was a Chevy Astro van. It was loaded down with 15s. It sounded so so good.
Great vid brother. You need a nuclear reactor to power that joker though! I believe 40% efficiency at 1 ohm is worse than most Class A/B amps I've tested.
BigDWiz I remember your test on the Lanzar opti 50c.i was so disappointed to see its output...lanzar was one of the greats in out teenage years,we all wanted that 50c....without guys like you and Ryan and Steve we would never really know what these amps make....thanks guys
Brings back memories. I had a optidrive 2000.1d on four Kove Armageddon 15's at 0.5 ohm load in a S-10 blazer. Love seeing amps ran to see who's claims are what with regards to wattage claims!
This is still a decent amplifier for the money. Honestly most people don't realize they don't need 4,000 watts to have a loud system. My two 15 CVR's are loud and shake everything in my car with 300 watts to each 15. Personally I would use this line of Lanzar if I had the money to buy it.Ryan you do a great job and I would call this a gem as well.
Friend of mine got 2 strapped in his yukon and that thing rocks. If he never told you what he had you would think he have 1000 plus buck amps. And he have them pushing 4 15inch skar subs. He running multiple alts and like 4 batteries tho.
Dietrich Williams not really Ryan did a certified bench of PD50001's I'm running two strapped @ 4 ohms 2 ohm a channel per amp draws nothing near that bad efficiency and my CT Sounds Meso 18s are beasts won't drop to lower ohm not needed.... Paid $220 for two PDs NEW
Bill Johnson Haven't metered it but going in for the kill decaf scares people to deaf when give demos meeting people on Craig's list The output section is upgradeable it has room for two more FETs and gates if added it stability goes up to .5 ohm instead of 1 ohm
For those people that judge amps based off these numbers on Dyno machines, just know that these lanzar Opti amps are the shit. I have alot of amps that I experiment with, and I'll promise you that these lanzar Opti amps are wayyy better than expected. The Opti6000d play hard and long and stay cold at 1ohm. You'll have to really be abusing them to make them get hot. I pretty much played with most of the Opti drive series amps, and I recommend them over alot of other top name brand amps. Let me give you an example. You'll like the lanzar Opti2000d amp, wayyy over an JL audio 1000/1. I had both amps on the same subs, and the opti2000d impressed me with power, and the better ability to stay cooler longer. And the sound quality for music is just as good if not better than my JL audio 1000/1. Trust me. The JL 1000/1 is more comparable to the smaller lanzar opti1400d. Don't get me wrong, I'm no amateur, and I come correct with power & Wiring and capacitors and things of that nature. And if you're trying to get the most power & sound for the buck, Lanzar Opti class D amps are a great choice.
I had my RE MT15 wired to .35ohm on mine and it worked flawlessly. Everyday. For the money, you can’t really go wrong. Soundstream use the same board for their older series and people win comps with them.
A little disapointing with the certified numbers, but like you said, this is an older design. It will be very interesting to see how the 4001D does at half ohm. Great video this week. Looking forward to a lot of stuff you have coming up. Keep up the good work!
My cousin had this amp on a JL Audio 13 inch w7 he had 2 battery’s hooked up on it,man that speaker would pound,I always wanted that same exact setup at that time, but I could not afford it back in 2007
Used to have two of the Opti2000D's. They were nothing overly spectactular but they sounded good and made ok power and didnt flinch at some abuse. If I could get a 4000D cheap enough (Canada ...) i'd probably buy it just to have it.
Awesome vid an content buddy as usual thanks I've been waiting for this one just ordered it a month ago with 20% coupon so now I'm actually happy I did keep up the great work thanks again!!##??💪💪👆👆✋✋👍👍👌👌
It seemed like by the time each test was finished your power supply was very low and I think that the amp would have made rated power had it had the current it needed so that's why I think that you really can't say the amp didn't make rated power when your power supply couldn't keep up. You can clearly see the power supply was strugling
I’ve been curious about this amp for a while. Thanks for the video! If you ever get your hands on the heritage 8 channel that would be pretty awesome too...
I wish all of you dyno guys would test Rockville RXM8BTB8. Im very curious why its always sold out. And if it really does 65 watts per channel @4 ohms.
This is great but when are you going to test the lanzar 6000D. There's no testing on the dyno anywhere online for that amp. It would be nice to see what it does
@@booggieman2u ...I don't know how experienced in car audio subs you are, but based on your knowledge, what subwoofer level would you put them on? Would you say they are on the level with let's say a alpine type r, American bass xfl, or closer to a audiopipe bd2 or something like that? Hey Ryan have you dyno the opti4001d yet? The half ohm ones. I Really would love to see what it does compared to the 1 ohm stable ones.. lemme know thanks. Keep up great work!
Ryan, nice job as usual. Have you seen the new line from Precision Power called Trax? I'm thinking of getting the TRAX1.1200d for my son's car. It does look cheap because it has the old style screw down terminals on the amp for spade type connectors, but precisionpower.com claims 600 watts RMS x 1 at two ohms for around $80 new and $60 refurb. If it can make power, it might qualify for a budget gem. I know other Precision Power amps you've tested have performed well.
Wow awesome vid bro. That was a great amp for its time and can still hang with some of these newer amps of today.. Question tho is that a Chinese or Korean board?
If you haven't gotten rid of this amp you should recap the video and see what it does on the 2 1/0 adapters to see if it needed more power. One may never know....
