HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 19 окт 2024
- Up for testing today is the $220 Soundstream T1.4000DL, which might have more LED Combos than it does Watts. This amp comes in rated at 2000W RMS @ 1 Ohm and has been around for a few years... I had a couple of Soundstream Amps come up short recently on the dyno... Is this the streak breaker? We will find out as we unbox and dyno this amp!

The name Soundstream just has a great ring to it.
What's sad is all the great brands we grew up with, sold out and now the name is never again to be thought of as sound quality or power houses.
The weird thing is we grew up with these brands.
They killed the brands so it's old school guys won't likely but then.
They younger generation don't know these brands do it was pointless to buy the brand and kill it IMO!?
Can't say that about Orion in reference to the power dept
Even the Sony amps would put out some real power abt 20 yrs ago. I use to see my uncle play with some Merlin audio subs and amps and also had some decent legacy amplifiers that put out some real power as well. Its a shame what happen to Audiobahn, I always wanted an Audiobahn sub but could never find an old school version and then finally when I did get one, it was a newer version and I blew a 12 inch 600 watts rms Audiobahn sub with an ap 1000.1. Now I have an evl 15 on a bxx2400.1 and I'm pretty happy considering I paid less than 500 for both sub and amp..
I heard that even Pyle made decent stuff back in the day. Now its one rung lower than Boss
@@RomaVilla Sony still makes good amps bud lol their new stuff is honestly top notch as far as sq, I would never go Sony for spl/competition though.
I'm with you man, I wasn't expecting even close to rated. I've always wanted Soundstream to do well because they are a budget brand but have been disappointed in the past. Happy to see I was wrong about this one. Great video as always.
It is sad to see soundstream now is known to be a “budget brand”
Tarantula and x3 lines for Soundstream are the real deal I get tired of people dogging on them because of their cheaper series, it’s just like Orion’s cobalt line or anything kicker. You get what you pay for. I personally own a soundstream t1.6000dl and I love it and have been running it for almost two years now no problem just need strong electrical. Much better than a skar RP2K for the money in my opinion.
Cody Thomas the problem is they didn't use to be like that even going back a few years. The issue isn't that they have cheap lines the issue is their cheap lines have gotten cheaper. When SS relaunched back in 07 there cheaper line was the Class A/B and D Picasso amps but even while made in China they met rated numbers and were a unique Soundstream design and didn't cut corners on built. Epsilon has just made them a name to slap on an amp these days. Hell when they killed off the big clasa A/B and G Reference line in Europe back in 2014 they temporarily relaunched the line as rebranded Picasso Nano amps. What's happened is a shame given that 10 years ago they where making a legit comeback.
I’ve been waiting for someone to dyno this amp for a long time.
still using mine 3 1/2 years later. Still as good as new. Just blew my 15"...have a Massive Audio HippoXL on the way.
Flat Earth Genius I just bought a hippo 15 dual 2 ohm and I love it so far. Haven't really broke it in yet though so can't speak on high volume but I like it so far.
I ran my t1.6000 at .5 for over 2 yrs and always wondered what kind of power I was actually seeing. It would get a little hot but nothing crazy and I only had it powered by a cheap 850cca walmart battery and a 253a alt plus the big 3. I will say I liked it and I got it for around $275 brand new when they were still selling for up to $350. I'm glad to see that even when it did fall short on watts it didn't fall real short but on music i'm sure it does well plus on some of the tests where it fell short you were down to like 13.8v so I'm sure it could've pushed out say 75w more at 14.4v
Another great vid though
man i did the same as you did have no problems at .5 i wonder what it really puts out
Ive been running my t1.6000dl at .5ohms for over a year now and no issues.subs on the othe hand dont like that .5 load lol running two t7 12's dual 2ohm into .5 load
i have an 02 gmc yukon on high output alt 250 battery n front deep cycle in back t16000 on 2 american bass xfl .5
i read that the amp is almost the same as the ppi black ice at .5 put out 2900 im not complaining for what i paid 2900 watts isnt bad
I just picked up a factory refurbished one for $180 can't wait to upgrade my electrical and throw it in 😁
I have this amp and I'm glad it does its numbers
Dj Kamikaze me to just got it to push 2 12s America bass rated 1200 rms per channel
shawn Shawn how is it working for you ? I also have 2 AB subs
@@shawnshawn9028 I have 2 american bass xr15s. Do you think the 12000 version of this amp would be ok. The xr are 1500 rms each.
I purchased this amp off eBay for 169.00.Now it is a factory refurbished. But it came with a 3 yr warranty.Im extremely happy with the performance of this amplifier.Ive has it installed for about 6 months running at 1 ohm and I play it hard and it’s never shut off.
8 clean watts per dollar? It's a gem
Almost reminds a guy of early 90's Sound stream . The good old Sound Stream I miss them. Nice video Ryan. Keep them coming.
Wow nearly 2,000 watts for $220!
I remember paying $250 for my 50w Zapco C2 amps back in the day
hey! i have a zapco z200c2-sl and its been kicking for around 25 years and its still pounding 2 10s to this day!
hey! i have a zapco z200c2-sl and its been kicking for around 25 years and its still pounding 2 10s to this day!
I just purchased this same amp about a month ago.Right now Im only running it at 2ohms but Im pretty happy with the amp.I got it for 169.00$ shipped. Now it is a refurb. But you can't tell it and it came in its original packaging with bass knob.Im very happy with itbso far.
My soundstream ar 4500.1 had real 4 guage terminals it sounded pretty good for a cheap budget 120$ amp it was rated 1000watts rms at 1ohm
Great amplifier dyno video I always wondered about this line of amplifiers keep up the good work
I have this running 2 t5 12s separate battery on 0g with the t52500dl on my highs jl audio 6.5s in the doors and Alpine 6x9 in back. System sounds amazing. Sound stream for the win!
This is the exact same board as found in the power acoustik rep1-6000d thank you for doing this video
Its in a lot of amps, very common
Budget Gem or Budget Bust I’ve been trying to figure out the true power of this thing for a few weeks now. I was certain it wasn’t the 3k PA promised but I have it running 5 JL 8w1-4 at .8 ohms and it sounds great and runs cool and efficient. I’ve been in the car audio game since the 90s even was a dealer for Memphis car audio for several years and never in my life would I think I would be this impressed with a power acoustik amp. I have this amp sitting in the repair pile for a little over a year. It needed new output mosfets, not sure how it died as I got it from a friend who owns a shop here. I’ll report back if it does again.
This amp is rated at 0.5 ohms an has warranty this in my opinion makes it a tru budget gem. Yea yea it does say 4000 watts but it not intended for competitive usage just a run of the mill amp!!!!!!!!!! Was corrected it is the 6000 good looking an appreciate your corrections this is why I watch you man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The t1.6000 is rated at .5 not this one...
Soundstream TA1.3000D was the last Korean built model in this series, build was shipped to China and called the T1.6000DL. the TA1 was .50 ohm stable and a current hog but built like a tank. TA1.3000 D can be had on Amazon for $239-$289 depending on how low stock is. The other full sized T series AB is a Clone of the US Acoustics Barbara Ann. $.02
Thanks as always Ryan.
mazz4081 Soundstream was making some good.stuff again for a while but Epsilon killed it with their meddling. Cause why wouldn't the $3K Human Reign or the $550+ Reference line sell in the same numbers as the Picasso line...
Good job again! was curious about this amp!
I've seen those guts on other amps too. I just can't wrap my mind on it.
Could be the power acoustik edge7000? I've heard it is the same board.
I have couple new Rubicon's from 90's. And few used one's. I love the old soundstream. Can keep new stuff.
Wow what a great video. You even took it apart and checked for lose parts. You was very right to be judgmental. I have a hard feeling this will be replaced soon with it being a old production.
Soundstream still knows how to do it .I think it's hit or miss with today's products made in Chy-na and everywhere else but the USA . I run Soundstream Ref amps and love them with plenty of power to turn my ride into a concert hall at the turn of the knob.
I think the led is best part of the amp
Hold your thoughts,....... To yourself!
Hey Ryan what's your take on the Massive Audio 2800? Or should I say the 1400 watt RMS Nano. Do you think it will do it's ratings?
There are a hole lot of wholesale amps out here today that are the same amps for all different prices just with difrent names. So these videos help. Subs are the same way. Like skar and American bass are the same. Should be called Chinese bass! Some amps are very similar with a few different parts like caps. Like hifonics and soundqubed. Theses videos help .
I was on pins and needles with this one. I have 2k and 3k best amps in 2010 for the $$$ all my Tarantula amps had metal bass knob
Liked the fuses leds a win !!! Nica bord layout
Close enough. Id buy it
And another great vid thanks👍
Im old school love soundstream still do
It's not even the same company. Same name, different owners, and Chinese made now.
I'm old school as well ive been a loyal soundstream customer for years & always will be !
Another great test, sir thanks.. seems that Audiopipe APCL 1500 and 1800 are a better deal then this amp.. so is the Skar RP2k.. glad your doing these test, keep it up sir.
Keep up the good work!
I just recently got this amp for 200..and coming from 750 made a huge difference..i need a 2nd battery
Im suprised with the results, respectable. Still wont take a chance on any Soundstream gear becouse of their mediocre ratings.
What did you end up using to plug in power to those little terminals?
Audiopipe APMI 2k for the win at $170.
Ant Gio 170 for an audiopipe. Could get better for the money in my opinion.
Kerry Bray I'm not a fan of audio pipe but I do believe the ampi series is pretty decent for the price
Apmi. No. Sorry.
Ant Gio hells ya I run two audiopipe amps in my truck. and I love them .
Kerry Bray your wrong audiopipe amps do more than rated power and pretty clen ... so investigate before you open your mouth
72% efficient at 2 ohm certified and 71% in dynamic doing 1100-1200w? That's actually really good for $200. If you pair another one together to 1 ohm you will output 2200w at 72% efficiency for $400. That's really competitive with quality stuff.
Do the t1.6000 I've had it for a year and it's a great amp. Curious about it's ratings. Never gets hot.....
Nice!! I wasn’t expecting that at all.
I have the T6000.1 amp that I'm gonna wire to 4 12" Alphasonik DVC 4ohm 800 series subwoofers..., haven't installed anything yet ~ I'm still building my system , still gotta get a High output alternator and Optima yellow top battery.., Can't wait to install all
I dont understand why soundstream would label this amp a 4000 when their accuracy on the 2000 watts is prevelant. Why not just call it a 2000 and save face from many of us complaining about this. Not a great sales gimmick at it lets people down. Everything else was great except the input terminals of course
Great review. Love your videos. I've been a big fan of soundstream for years but it is definitely hit or miss. I have an old xxx6500 that needs repair and I currently run a Picasso 6k (the larger version of the 5k you previously tested. No one has done a test of the 6k so I'd love to see if it performs as well as the 5k did.
P.S.
I'm slightly offended by 1 comment in this video. I loved Wild Wild West 😆😆😆
It's not horrible.
Anyway you can test why these blow? I had 2 t1.6000DL and one blew in an hour and the second one blew in 20 mins. Never had an issue with my GEx 3500, Cxa1800, NVX 2700.
Will it last long enough without busting transistors? is another issue.
best thing about this dyno is we know it does 1800 so if we see one for $80 or so on cl or fb that would be a killer deal..
Great review, love the tee shirt , star wars geek here lol.
Nice budget amp
I had an old school mainstream 15inch duel voice coil 4ohm in a 87 Monte Carlo hooked to a Phoenix Gold zpa.05 and sub was a fucking beast on that amp. Like all food things the sub lasted almost 2yrs before one day I was driving down the interstate and smelled something burning........and yes it was the sub.......lol. then got 2 orian 15's XTR series 2 from a pawn shop. Those lasted 9m and they died out. I miss that amp. May get another one.
Have you Dyno the Soundstream X 3.71? I have one runing my Kicker Solo X18 and im curious on the Dyno Numbers!
i have the previous version od this, was called the T1.2000D. Same fuses, rated exactly the same. not sure why they added the LED color stuff then changed the text to 4000 watts max, and the model name to be decieving. It was more accurate named the T1.2000D.
I'd like to see what the soundstream Rubicon nano RN1.5000D does, there isn't a single dyno video on it.
It says 4000 on it 😢 that to me isn't a gem I'd rather get a 2k that says 2k on it lol another great video
My doctor says I'm sick and have a very bad illness he has prescribed me amp dynos I need more amp dynos please lol but really I look forward to ur videos and look for them everyday wen I get home from work
iceman020187 yep like audiopipe. they do more than rated power
iceman020187 if strapped it will do the 4000
scottpryorsz28 hahahaha
Please , try the massive audio D8000 they Say 4.000 rms at 1/2 ohm
Will be Nice to check that
Thanks bro
You rocks
A lot of people pointing out dollar per watt, but is the quality there, is the amp gonna last longer than even a year?
I got this amp and glade you made a review. Was going run 3 sub at 4 ohms. Also wire it down to 2 ohms, but it's at 2.7 so would it be ok for the amp run at that ohms?
Those specs on paper are almost identical to The Audiopipe 2000 amp
KRAZYSHAWNJ yeap just about only the audiopipe does a lil more
He wasnt even at voktage on most of the tests either. Wouldve made rated if he had better power.
Thank you again
Eg1-7000d same setup minus the fuses. Get them around 150 refurb.
I recently bought a sound stream radio. It was terrible. I hope the amps are better.
I'm interested to now about the guts of the bass knob, have you ever opened one up? I bet the guts in the plastic ones are the same as the metal ones
please try the t1.6000 and ta1.3000 both claim 3k at .5 and is a very popular amp that many have bought
i can't recall the name or channel on here but back when the ta1.3000 was new a guy clamped it at different freqs and after rise he was still seeing between like 1700-2200w
Yes well I know the tarantula t.3000 is an amazing amplifier I have 2 of them & rum 1/2 ohm daily never had an issues going on 3 years. Not sure about the 6000 though but I've never bought a bad soundstream amp.
Im running the t1.6000 and at .5ohm on two 12" trantula t7's amp never gets hot!
Have you ever tried testing the amps at 500hz some amps are better for vocals
Not too fond of the brand, but it came close to rated and did above in the other tests. Power hungry but not bad for the price.
Godzilla 73 I was surprised it made rated. Needs some silicone inside though
Id give it a pass but the voltage was a little low.
It does rated but the gimmicks lower the quality for me. They could've got rid of the stupid ass LED light show for 12 year olds and invested that money in better components inside.
OxBlitzkriegxO i agree.
Epsilon gave up on SS and PPI being halo brands around 2013 and just made them rebadged PA and SPL
Just curious......needs silicon?
Better than Orion Cobalt
I have an old Tarantula 560.2 I have not hooked it up yet hopefully today waiting on wire and the box to get here would love to have it dynoed
Ya know, I couldn't care less what a 'new' amp puts out at burst but what an 'older' amp can do continuous.
Hey, look at that, a soundstream amp that actually does rated. I wouldn't personally buy it, but at least others got what they paid for. Nice video as always Ryan
hey what do you think about the rubicon nano? was hoping you tested one of those too
Are those LEDs at least controllable, or does it just do random color crap?
Autopipe APMI 2000 way better watch that video real gem 176$ on amazon all day keep making this videos bud
I love my 6000.1DL.
I think most of these amps are gems.as a fan of car audio since early 90s these are cheap.i paid almost 500 buck for my punch 200 dsm when they first came out in like 94 or so.amps are crazy cheap today...imo
“Pretty much dead on right around 2 inches” lol!
Do you remember what the efficiency calculation for this amp is ?
If you're not running this amplifier as a 4-channel for mids and highs what amp is everyone else using
Just bought the 8000.1 straight cought fire after 3 days.
Ar1-8000? Those amps suck... as you have found out... the t1.6000dl is the biggest amp soundstream makes and they are decent....
I have the soundstream tl 6000.dl it does come with 0g input terminals for power and ground , I’m running 3 batteries double (2) 0g leads to the amp with big 3 and upgraded alternator pushing 2 sundown U series 15s pounds hard af
Do you have any alpine amplifiers to be tested? I wanna see the new X series tested and if you could swing it the MRV-M1200.
Pretty sure the Rockville dB45 outperforms this amp. The CEA certified numbers on the dB45 (400 x 2 @ 4) are higher than the uncertified numbers of this Soundstream, and it costs less than the Soundstream brand new. Unless I'm misunderstanding something.
Ignore the above comment, as I just realized that the Soundstream is stable all the way down to 1 ohm. Makes more sense now.
Ryan as long as your car power runs are shortest possible 16 17 ft handles quite some current
There is the SS Rubicon Nano out there...priced in the gem range. That is still listed on the SS website as a current amp. Though I'll stick with my Reference series amps.
I’d take a die grinder with a carbide bit and clean those power inputs up a little bit to make that reduced fit.
I shaved the reducers down instead. I'd rather replace the reducer than try and find a new power input. They fit good but are really close together now. No chance of touching as long as they are screwed it tight.
Awesome awesome awesome I needed to see this beautiful thing but want to strap two!! Big thumbs up happy weekend looking to swap 6000DL not made by soundstream
The T1.6000DL has oversized 0Ga I had one pushing a set of soundqubed hds315's at half ohm and it clamped 4k clean also the setup metered 158.9db at 38hz
It was an awesome amp, it ran those two 15's for over 3yrs at half ohm and no fans on it... good strong electrical charging system though...
Man, what ever happened to Soundstream? I have a 200 watt Reference 200 from 1993 putting out over 800 watts.
Same thing that has happened to all the brands. Remember back then you could get $30 amp/equalizers with enough power to push 6x9's with brute force...
Great video keep up the good job
Thanks to big Jeff just got one for 149 shipped!
I can't get enough of these amp dynos. Great video. Also what makes a Korean amp better than others. Say China or Brazil. For example I'm not positive but Skar has amps from Korea and China
Richard Moore nothing, JL Audio has proven that you can have an amp made in China and it still performs with no issues, it’s really down to the components and QC
Had mine for just under 2 years hooked hooked up to 2 T5 12s had it 1/4 the way up and the amp fried but did not blow any fuses. 😒
and you actually get some damn heat sink on the soundstream, that picasso 5000.1d here in az ran for 40 minutes at 1 ohm, volume at full bore when the temp hit 116F. THAT IS IMPRESSIVE! I imagine if i had had a fan on it, woulda never shut down.(did R.I.P. a RF p2 sub)
Can u try out different bass knobs see how much voltage they lose or. If they add distortion or how much I have heard the carbon ones do add distortion Compare them to the wound knobs such as spl cartel wish I had one. Of them, I think the ones that spl cartel make r called. 'wipers'?
This IS my amp, and THANK YOU RYAN for testing this as requested. I love this amp! I knew it would do the numbers. To see this amp in action check out my setup here..ruclips.net/video/FaQ1M1gXOIQ/видео.html BTW this amp was awarded BEST AMP in both 2016 and 2017.
Same board as the PPI black ice 5000, no? Seems Epsilon is just branding the same thing over and over.
Not the black ice.... these are similar to the Power Ascoustic EDG 8000
Hey, any of you guys want to see some dyno runs on Quantom Audio Monoblocks. I live in the central valley California and these amps are popping up everywhere. I have been running 2 Interfire ifc1200's strapped pushing an old school eclipse 9000 series sub with no problems for 3 years. One of the amps died, so its time to look for some cheap replacements. Kinda thinking about the Quantum QP6100d.
i got the t16000 you think you can do a dyno on that one
Hey Ryan can you try any of the massive audio amps?
Ryan clear silicon works great to glue under the coils also them output section drive boards run extra hot driver transistors burn up outputs on heatsink short out those drive boards needs a fan there very cheap drive board circuitry
NICE SHIRT😎👍
