Chips was on the forefront of what was poplar during its run. It was cool though see Ponch and John doing the hottest sport or hobby. This episode was no different as KISS was popular. Thanks for posting this. I still watch Chips reruns when I get home from work.🍻
My mom worked in Long Beach and saw them film all the time. I was able to see them myself a few times. Thank you for the incredible attention to detail.
When you are young you don't realize how freaking cheesy this show was i really got a great laugh watching it Moloch looking like a discount Gene Simmons and our favorite rascal Flippy great vlog Kurt.
I just realized why I love the Chips Filming Location videos so much....they're filmed in the same spirit as the original Chips episodes..not too serious, but SO FUN!
Chips was one my favorite shows when i was in elementary school in the late 70s to early 80s. I remember this satanic band because they look like KISS. Thank you for the great vid Kurt.
Your the best,I enjoy your narration, I also wonder why the CHP is always on scene no need for LAPD. cant wait for the next. Keep up the good work Art Reno
My favorite CHiPs episode besides the punk one. I was hoping you'd do the locations for it. I would never recognize that intersection where Moloch's hearse crashes, even though I've driven through it many times on my way back and forth to my relatives' place in Playa Del Rey. They always filmed in the western part of LA County or in the San Fernando Valley for CHiPs, so it's gotta hold a special place in your Valley boy heart.
Thank you for this episode. Being a KISS and Horror fan from the 70s/80s, I always thought Moloch was a little tribute to Gene Simmons. Maybe more than an obvious tribute.🤘🏻🎃
Awe man, shoulda asked me about the World Way bridge off Pershing. My dad worked for TWA at LAX from the late 60s to the mid 90s. That was the way to the hangar. Aside from that, we'd drive too fast on Pershing late at night.....and we'd park on the hill between Pershing and the ocean (Sandpiper Rd) as it was a bit. of an "Inspiration Point"........
Your CHiPS videos are my FAVORITE! Please don’t ever stop making them! We appreciate all your effort so much. I can tell how hard you work to find these locations and I think you’re probably the best at it! You find the smallest of details and it’s amazing. Love your content so much!
Thoroughly enjoy your videos; entertaining and your commentary often hilarious. I too have a fascination with filming locations and so glad I found your channel ! Keep up the great work.
Another awesome video Kurt. Finally got up to my neck of the woods in Sunland, they filmed a ton up there before and after the freeway opened. "The back of the car is a ramp, that's extremely dangerous" - I wish you would have somehow added a sketch with your son at the end :)
I remember this episode!! Good old memories! 😅 ⚰️💀💀🎃🦇 This happened during the heavy metal craze from the 80s in Los Angeles!! Thanks for this video!!! 👍👍 Kurt you should do a video on Horror hosts from Los Angeles. Grimsley was from KHJ studios in the late 70s. And of course everyone knows Elvira, she's from Los Angeles KHJ studios as well.
Lol one of the most absurd episodes ever. Funny side story. I was in a ska/punk band back in the 90's. When we broke up the singer/sax player started a new band. He wrote a song about this episode. Was their best song.
I can’t believe the things we watched and believed - these old episodes are so cringy. Watching your video and your commentary - I laughed so hard. I love your videos!!!!!!!! Thank you!
I freaking love how you do these . The commentary is hilarious, I think all these same things while watching episodes of this every day on Charge network
This episode was before Elvira was nationally syndicated. She was still just the host of a local show on an independent TV station in Los Angeles. No one watching this episode in 1982 outside of Southern California would have known who she was.
Yes! that's right! If it wasn't for KHJ studios we wouldn't have Elvira. She was local to LA and in Channel 9 from KHJ studios on Melrose Ave, Hollywood. She wasn't popular yet nor has gone national syndicate. But Elvira later on replaced Grimsley played by Robert Foster, he was a "horror movie host" in the late 70s on KHJ Channel 9 and on KTLA channel 5 on a show called Fright Night. I'm not sure why he left but he was funny and scary at the same time. Anyone remember him? or what he's up to now?
@@john_from_eastcoast. Was too young for Fright Night but I was a huge horror movie and Elvira fan. Going to 7-11 for 3D glasses to watch that Vincent Price movie was a huge deal for nine year old me. 40 years later and I still remember that it aired at 4pm on a Sunday.
@@mjwbulich Yes I remember too. I watched "The Ghoul" horror host in early 70s when I lived in Massachusetts. Then I saw Grimsley in late 70s in Los Angeles on KHJ but then he was cancelled or I think he quit. You cannot even find any video takes from him on RUclips, it's unfortunate. I remember the movies Jaws Part 3 in 3D and also Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D played at the Pacific movie theater on Hollywood Blvd back in the 80s. And the California cable channel SelectTV they had the "Creature from the Black Lagoon" movie televised in 3D which you had to buy the 3D glasses at the 7-11 store.
This is such a cool video. Great job doing to the match up location episode scenes . I was a teenager in the 70's when Chips was on . I need to watch this episode . I have all Chips complete seasons / episodes on dvd. Thanks for making this 👍🏻😀
Another great video, Kurt. I grew up loving CHiPs, and it's cool to see the filming places in California - I come to LA all the time. Your channel should have 500k subs, I don't know what's going on.... but you'll get there.
When the kid gets his bike stolen, and runs between the houses, look how big that tree got! I don't know why, but the trees are some of my favorite posts of the then and nows.
Dang Kurt, you really had to pound the pavement...no pun intended...on this one! Great job as always! If you ever get the chance, I'd love it if you'd do the locations for the "Cadillac Foxes" episode, featuring the talented and beautiful, Laura Brannigan....RIP
It may be just a coincidence, you thanked your Australia viewers, the airplane with the red tail you filmed at the sign "world way west" has a giant white kangaroo painted on it. Its for an Airline company called QANTAS which I believe is Australia's premier airliner and has the record as the world's most safest apparently.
Yes I enjoy seeing how much and how little has changed over the decades, but at the same time, being the kids shown, for instance in this episode are around the same age as me. I was born in '72. Most of those kids are now grand parents and some might even be great grandparents now.
17:41 Pink shirt guy is dancing in Boston. You can see the old John Hancock building right by his raised fist. This must have been from Moloch's North American tour.
On the last chips video you were outside of my apartment, while i lived there. We have since moved to Culver city and culver city was in this video. No plans to move again so it will probably be a while until you do anothet chips video
🤘 Ralph Mauth is King Diamond!!! 🤘
Awesome job once again Kurt. That show was one of my favorites when I was a kid, but looking at it now it was so ridiculous.
dude this is hilarious, i remember this episode. 'he goes into the car crotch first, this of course frightens moloch'
Chips was on the forefront of what was poplar during its run. It was cool though see Ponch and John doing the hottest sport or hobby. This episode was no different as KISS was popular. Thanks for posting this. I still watch Chips reruns when I get home from work.🍻
Me too. I watch it when I get home from work. It was a stress reliever as a kid and still is to this day.
I believe this particular episode was inspired by what was going on with the band KISS and the media’s portrayal of them at the time…
How great that Don Most replied, even if he couldn’t help.
LMAO!! So true!
Flippy grew up to be the bass player in Metallica and continues today .
I just realized why I love the Chips Filming Location videos so much....they're filmed in the same spirit as the original Chips episodes..not too serious, but SO FUN!
12:20 The house you’re standing in front of here is my sons’ godfather’s house. I saw the house across the street and recognized it immediately! 😂
Love the reference to The Exorcist. The quick face flash of Molock in the intro!
5 🌟 video! Another awesome Chips video! Thank you
Second best Chips episode! Freaked me out as a little kid!
What was the first?
Loving the CHiPs locations. Any chance of some Knight Rider or A-Team locations Kurt?
Love film locations and love this episode of chips
I was just thinking about your channel, I just watched the Chips Halloween “Trick or Treat” episode last night….Another great Chips Upload Kurt..

That's some great detective work you bud!
Your Work is UNTOUCHABLE..... This clip and your presentation....EPIC......!!!!
Omg, I thought I was the only weirdo who loved that episode. Thanks for sharing this.

Very entertaining, as usual! Till the next CHiPs episode...

Formerly Surfridge. Now it's a butterfly sanctuary.
Can’t get enough of your Chips episodes. You do an awesome job. Just like you said “SO COOL”
I love the start on the bike with the Police. Lights. Love it

0:19 I just noticed the Moloch subliminal that you threw in there lol awesome touch . This is one of my top fav of your videos lol....
Love these Chips videos, please keep them up! Thank you for the great work!
Absolutely. More on the way. Thank you

Thank you Kurt, it’s funny I drive Pershing Dr everyday to and from to work. Who knew!
Another great episode 🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can’t believe the things we watched and believed - these old episodes are so cringy. Watching your video and your commentary - I laughed so hard. I love your videos!!!!!!!! Thank you!
Great sleuthing! I didn't know the interior police station was a set in the later seasons. Keep up the great work.
Catching up with your content! I just subbed! Love these locations my guy.
Awesome!! Thank you so much!
@ 8:37 according to IMDB, Flippy is Robert Trujillo; appears the rumor is true.
They're wrong.
Dude, thank you for taking the time to research these locations. I love this kind of nostalgic info.
Car trunk ramps and mustachio kids were bad but Ralph the Mouth doing a Gene Simmons impression was criminal. Great video. Keep up the good work.
I freaking love how you do these . The commentary is hilarious, I think all these same things while watching episodes of this every day on Charge network
This dude is dope. We like to see you do the red carpet - movie ,music, Entertainment!

Thanks for these awesome chips video’s, we definitely appreciate all the time and effort it takes to make these
Hay Kurt i cant believe i haven't seen you before im really enjoying going through your location videos. i found you from scott on tape
Loves these videos. Glad you made another one. The black potatoes story from Alpha Beta was classic 😂
That intro never gets old!
When the kid gets his bike stolen, and runs between the houses, look how big that tree got!
I don't know why, but the trees are some of my favorite posts of the then and nows.

LOL, love your sarcasm with regards to the unintentional humour with these old '80's shows 😂👏
Devil take me heavens to bits. 😅
4:32 there are a few episodes filmed on Pershing and around that area....
who remembers the two black extras, the short one and the buxom one, who occasionally met the agents on the boulevard?
That was awesome and hilarious. Moloch was obviously based on the still lingering popularity of Kiss, specifically Gene Simmons’ demon.
@RetroMan 5OOO that’s funny. 👍
Great again! Love the snarky jokes/ humor hahaha. Thanks Kurt
And yeah I heard about Trujillo. Liked his cameo in Encino Man more though!

Wow the 80s were really hard on Ralph Malph and Peter Marshall 😂
Those apartment buildings off of Imperial Highway are actually in El Segundo.
Sounds amazing 😊
17:41 Pink shirt guy is dancing in Boston. You can see the old John Hancock building right by his raised fist. This must have been from Moloch's North American tour.
My captions say Punch and Hot Dog. Just so funny. LOL
I just watched this episode the other day! Thankfully we get CHARGE here in Nor Cal! Three hours every day!
That’s why you could t find that freeway because of the overgrown bushes couldn’t see the off ramp. Great work anyway
