Wow that intro took me right back to sitting in front of our 1970’s TV with rabbit ears watching Chips as a kid. I don’t think I understood much of it as a kid, but I do remember a some of the chases and silly stuff.
The one common denominator with all your CHiPs videos is that I find myself wondering whether as a little kid I realized how absurd the plots were, or was I mature enough to realize it's a 'so bad it's good' situation.
Great work once again. Looks like a fun episode, will have to watch it sometime. The 2 Estradas 😂 the dog scene tho 😬 & that was a nice little truck. Hope they didn’t actually destroyed it.
"Unfortunately though, he had to live the rest of his life with two slices of American Cheese on his face. Very Sad." HAHA oh man....that one got me. Love your videos. Love CHiPs. Keep up the great work.
Great detective work piecing together all of those filming locations, Kurt. I can't imagine how much work it takes to produce all of these great videos. THANK YOU! 🙂
Another great CHiPs video. I really like the top and bottom comparison photos, nice addition (you must have seen my other comments about that? 😊) The only thing I didn’t like about season 5 is that they got off the freeways and were patrolling side streets in LA, which the CHP doesn’t do, that’s for LAPD. Nice job. 👍
Chips contra chimps. 2:44 That alley looks identical with all of that trash. lol 3:20 Very cool to see her from Miami Vice and him from Knots Landing. :)
Great video as usual! A small note: the first animal (orangutan) we see is not a monkey, but an ape. The two smaller animals are indeed monkeys because they have tails (apes do not). BTW, ChiPs is now available on Amazon Video and it is free with an Amazon Prime membership. I actually just finished watching the first two episodes of the series. It did not age very well, but it was still entertaining. The Fall Guy (the series) is also available there.
Should take a trip up and down the 2 Freeway where they did a lot of the early season freeway clips. And I know that Chinatown restaurant Miriwa pretty well. Every Chinese American went there when we were kids for banquets and what not.
Jon was among the first characters on a television series to be identified as a Vietnam Veteran. Larry Wilcox had served in Vietnam as a U.S. Marine during the Tet Offensive. On the Sam Brown (holster) belt, behind the holster, you'll see the officers wearing a rectangular pouch. This is not a part of CHP/Law Enforcement items. This case actually housed the battery for the wireless microphones the actors wore. In October 1981, two real-life California Highway Patrolmen were injured in the line of duty. The show's cast took time out to donate blood for the two officers. One survived. Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada were often said to frequently clash, and did not get along well with each other during the production of this show. This was reported to be a factor in Wilcox's decision to quit the series. Estrada was said to be similarly displeased working with Tom Reilly, who replaced Wilcox as Poncherello's partner Officer Bob "Bobby" Nelson. Erik Estrada suffered a very serious motorcycle accident while filming an episode. Until he recovered, he literally shot scenes from his hospital bed.
Great video Kurt. CHiPs was one of my favorite shows in the day. I saw a skateboard movie on RUclips called Veer (2014). Maybe you seen it. I shared because your a skateboarder.
"with two slices of American cheese on his face" 😂 They must've gotten the idea for this episode from an early 70's movie called "The Doberman Gang". Awe man, that was a nice truck they wrecked. 😥
Another CHIPS blast from the past. In case anyone didn’t know the U2 video “Steets with No Name” was filmed next to the famous Cecil Hotel. It has some good video of the area. Thanks again Kurt, keep them coming.
Hello Kurt I saw in a video that you read all the comments I hope you see this one I wanted to ask you a question it's kinda personal don't know if I want to say it on here maybe on a different platform? I'm only asking because I have no where to turn to I really hope you do see this comment
I love the photo recap at the end! Keep doing that!
You can see how much care and research really goes into making these videos. Your hard work makes these always fun to watch.

Love the Chips filming location vids.

You're funniest episode so far....
It's always a great day when a new CHiPs video appears! Thanks for all your attention to detail. So fun to see what L.A. looked like in the '80s.
Coat Rack Bonnie got me laughing
Rad to see that Chips was filmed in my neighborhood. Great vid, keep ‘em coming. Thanks! 👊🏼
A lot of the neighborhood shots haven't changed much. Another excellent video!
Thanks for doing another chips episode!!!!!!!
Awesome as usual thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoa, hang on, am I the only one who’s never watched a full episode of Chips but loves this series? I’m an 80’s baby but never really watched it. 🤷♂️
Thank you for another great video and for raising awareness of American Cheese Syndrome.
Love all your CHiPs episodes. Keep them coming.
YES! Thank you, Kurt, for all the time and detail that you put into these videos!
The then/now side by side location photos are awesome, great addition to your videos!
Love the T-shirt 🤙
Great work once again. Looks like a fun episode, will have to watch it sometime. The 2 Estradas 😂 the dog scene tho 😬 & that was a nice little truck. Hope they didn’t actually destroyed it.
Awesome Thrashin' t-shirt
Great job once again. How about some Rockford Files?
I know right 😊🤗👊
Officer Turner is actor Michael Dorn who portrayed Worf from Star Trek:TNG
Killing it!! So good!!
I actually love the CHiPs location videos more then the actual show, great job as always Kurt.
Another great chips video and who doesn’t use American cheese on those pesky wrinkles??
Channel growing alright, Boss? I can't remember how many subs you had when I first found you but I think it was a lot less than the current count.
"Unfortunately though, he had to live the rest of his life with two slices of American Cheese on his face. Very Sad." HAHA oh man....that one got me. Love your videos. Love CHiPs. Keep up the great work.
Yes, another CHiPs video! Love these!
Excellent again dude!
Good one !
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Nobody does these better than you and they bring me such joy. Thank you so much for making them.
LOL- "They use Bonnie as a coat rack" That's exactly what it looks like. Don't know what they were thinking.
Sweet, really enjoy these videos.
To be fair, if I'm a cop and I see a guy getting accosted by a falcon, I'm probably just going to stare and look bewildered too 😂
i watch CHiPs and i like the show
The now & then photos 👍 very cool.
THANKS that was great!!!
Chip you tube channel Love my favorite one fan BIG 💖💖💖
Kurt, this is great! Btw i love the 2 slices of American Cheese joke towards the end
Great detective work piecing together all of those filming locations, Kurt. I can't imagine how much work it takes to produce all of these great videos. THANK YOU! 🙂
These are my favorite videos of yours
I'm amazed how you find the exact street or building that were in the scenes. Your CHiP videos are my favorites.😎👍
Great video!!!

Nice job. 👍
7:10 crazy how fast that bike was going while the shepard's able to hold on, seamingly effortless
I love CHiPs
Great job as usual. I like the recaps at the end that you started doing.
Chips contra chimps. 2:44 That alley looks identical with all of that trash. lol 3:20 Very cool to see her from Miami Vice and him from Knots Landing. :)
Rad shirt Kurt!!! Did Sam Flood send that to you? 😮
Great video as usual! A small note: the first animal (orangutan) we see is not a monkey, but an ape. The two smaller animals are indeed monkeys because they have tails (apes do not). Thanks for the information on this, I’ll definitely check it out. 👍
That's my kaiser, I live near Vermont and silver lake
Awesome!! Thanks, Kurt!!
Yes🎉 CHiPs my favorite thanks kurt

Man, give that dog an Emmy!
Yeaaa! another CHiPS video!
I like Lou's orange Datsun.
Really enjoy the chip episodes, Have you ever considered doing the Rockford files or Emergency?
Great work!😊👍 Though you may have missed a great opportunity to refer to Officer Turner (Michael Dorn) as Officer Worf...😂
Sling does a good job of showing reruns of chips and lot others we all grew up with. My favorite is Perry Mason and the Lone Ranger on there as well
Still not quite sure why the Highway Patrol was doing so much City Police street patrols.... meh. Still fun to watch!
Do more for Emergency!
Hey, you were in my neighborhood!
I love these
Love the videos! Have you ever done any Columbo filming locations? That would be amazing! 🤩
awsome
Enjoyed it as always. Even saw my old neighborhood that I never knew they filmed there
👍👍👍
The most egregious crime committed during that episode was the dog on the motorcycle not wearing a helmet
One of the best part of CHiP's is how when they take a turn, they turn into a whole other city. 😂
Love the shirt from thrashin. Now I’ll have to go back and watch the filming locations again.

Thanks for this one, it was great! Have You done a video on the movie Blue Thunder? If not, it might be worth looking into.
5:40 See's Bordeaux chocolates = proof of perfection in the universe
That Datsun truck was sweet
Bums me out that they totaled that sweet Datsun pickup...I'd love to have that today!
I was in that norm' s. For my sister's jr high graduation, late sixies. My dad let her order steak and eggs. 😂😅
"with two slices of American cheese on his face" 😂
They must've gotten the idea for this episode from an early 70's movie called "The Doberman Gang".
Awe man, that was a nice truck they wrecked. 😥
I immediately thought of the Doberman Gang too.😂 There were at least 2 movies in that series
@@katem1472 Cool, I didn't know there were two. 😄👍
Kurt, can you find the venue where Ponch sang Celebrate by Kool & The Gang?
Bonnie driving that granny front wheel drive skylark🫢
That is one highly trained animal.
This episode was actually filmed in the fall of 1981 but didn't air until April 4, 1982.
Another CHIPS blast from the past. In case anyone didn’t know the U2 video “Steets with No Name” was filmed next to the famous Cecil Hotel. It has some good video of the area. Thanks again Kurt, keep them coming.
🤙🏽
Based on the exotic dancers uniform, he's ALSO a police officer? Why am I doubting that officers can do such things during the off hours.
"Ahhh, the Mondo!"
Can you do Stand and deliver next?
You got it! You can find it on my channel right now.
Did anyone notice John popping a little Wheelie taking off from norms 👮
The orangutan that stole the CHP motorcycle in the last season was obviously influenced by these criminals.
"No animals were harmed in the creation of this video."
The cheese was the guy's attempt to get a hot single woman who loved cheese to make out with him.
CAN YOU PLEASE DO AN EPISODE OF JON'S APARTMENT COMPLEX AND ONE OF PONCHES PLEASE 🙏🙏
😃
An alternate subtitle to this episode could have also been: "C.H.i M.P.s"....😂
Hello Kurt I saw in a video that you read all the comments I hope you see this one I wanted to ask you a question it's kinda personal don't know if I want to say it on here maybe on a different platform? I'm only asking because I have no where to turn to I really hope you do see this comment
How does a dog hang on riding the back of a bike at those speeds and turns?
Don Stroud played a lot of tv shows
Was that chase in the same neighborhood where the drunk driver killed his wife in an earlier episode?
I saw reruns of CHiPS as a kid in the 90s and i knew back then that it was a terrible show. But i enjoy LA filming locaitons.
The modern architecture in Los Angeles is so utilitarian and sterile now. I miss the DTLA I grew up with. Where buildings were unique.
