dan and harold wrote the story for this game, its been confirmed by dan that this is indeed ghostbusters 3 and that the plan in the third film was for dana to be the next ghostbuster , i think sigourney was busy with scheduling conflicts so she couldnt return so they just gave that part to the rookie....and hes also canon...

I wasn't really aware of the videogame and this is the first time I've seen it. The script and voices here are excellent! It would be great if one day someone took these recordings and made it into a REAL movie, I mean with realistic CGI, a real score, real cinematic direction, and made the "player" into a fully-formed character with dialogue etc. It could even be a live-action film with CGI versions of the Ghostbusters! But until then, this will have to do, thanks :)
Well now! I went to see the new Ghostbusters movie, and it is freaking awesome! Egon’s granddaughter Phoebe is amazing! Y’all should go see Ghostbusters afterlife! This still should be the third installment of Ghostbusters, with Afterlife being the finish to it all (at least the guys’ storyline).
If this had been made into an actual film with a aimilar animation style that was used for the 2006 computer-animated haunted house film "Monster House" and was directed by Gil Kenan who directed Monster House and the 2023 Ghostbusters film, I would've enjoyed watching it myself.
some of this i dont think would of translated well in film. but the game really did the Ghostbusters justice which we really cant say about alot of games based off of movies.

A yellow beacon on the front and sides, with a blue beacon on the back, I wonder why not stay with the original all blue? They kept the original siren though. The worst offence, Chrome trim cutting the No-No in half ! An absolute insult to the most recognizable Logo in Film. And if the reasoning for this is to keep up the appearance of the Caddy, then why did Paul replace they hood ornament with his own little ghost figure?

The good part is - in a few years, they will be able to make a real Ghostbusters 3 movie, with all the original actors, digitally remade into flawless, smooth realism, the voices, the screen - everything will be turned into the same quality as if you were watching Ghostbusters 1. It's great that we had the voices and the screenplay of this game - it will become something amazing in the future.
They should take the audio of this game and remaster the animation for a VR game!! Imagine placing yourself in the Ghostbuster's world rushing along side with Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston really feeling the power of the proton pack on your back and in your hands as you trap a ghost. Each of the men telling you to be on alert and watching their six as they move forward and not to fall behind. That would be awesome! It would be like you're really working with them and saving the city when you're really just staying in one place.

I enjoyed it, but it tried so hard to be a modern version of Ghostbusters 1 imo. It should have had a more unique plot line, that does not focus primarily on Evo Shandor and Gozer.
The Ilyssa character was probably originally going to be Dana. Sigourney's agent was asked if she'd be interested in the game, but the agent never even told her it was happening. She found out after it was finished, and basically said "If I had known they wanted me back, I would have been on board!" Instead, they replaced Peter's love interest with the Ilyssa character, but tweaked her so that the story could advance faster.

I remember playing this game, beat it 3 times, one for the blind play through, the other for the collectables (best collectables in a game) and then on the hardest difficulty, didn't bother with platinum trophy, I got my money's worth and I'm not touching the abomination that is Ghostbusters 2016 and its demonic deformity of a video game that will be released

omg this game actually looks great! i remember a few years ago when it came out i looked up some reviews and most said it was shit and the rest said its kind of ok, i dont think any of them said the game is the official ghistbusters 3 either - i suppose its my own fault for believing what the mainstream reviewers say. at least these days we know better.
the irony is, its only because of the new ghostbusters being so awful that i came to this video, id probably never have bothered otherwise .. so thank you paul feig , for being shit at your job!

I remember playing this game, beat it 3 times, one for the blind play through, the other for the collectables (best collectables in a game) and then on the hardest difficulty, didn't bother with platinum trophy, I got my money's worth and I'm not touching the abomination that is Ghostbusters 2016 and its demonic deformity of a video game that will be released

I'm going to replay this again for the first time after 2009. Fuck the movie remake or the new game coming out. This is truly Ghostbusters 3.
