Who is still listening in 2024
4/20/24
I am. The greatest music, unlike today.
How can you not love the old school “tuning by ear.” More talent under their fingernails than most people could ever hope to find in a hundred lifetimes.
I don't know of anyone in the current crop of musicians that can hold a candle to Greg and Dickey .
I'm sure glad I lived through the seventy's , I got to hear real music and musicians .
redbarn11 I hear you redbarn11
Yea, I saw the ABB 3 times in the late 60’s & early 70’s. Twice before Duane’s death & then in ‘73 at Watkins Glen. They will always be my favorite! RIP boys!
They're both great but there are plenty of great artists right now as well just not on the radio.
Dangerous Dan Toler is pretty damn good too!
@@norcaldigger348 dangerous Dan broke into an old married couple's house, tied them up and wrote all over their walls with permanent marker.
I absolutely love him. Heart. Face. Soul. I bet he's surrounded by harp playing angels 👼🏼. RIP Midnight Rider
In every Allmans thread u c multiple women gushing over Gregg so Ima share my story. I have a cousin who was in love with Gregg, so much so when she got married it was agreed upon by her husband, a big ABB fan, that if presented with the chance she could spend the night with him. And I know he was a heartbreaker but she would've pulled his attention easily as she is very pretty. 🍑✌
😢❤
I was a senior in high school when this was filmed.Seems like yesterday now. It's true the older you get the faster the years go by. Enjoy your youth It don't last long.
Curtis Moffett After you turn 25, the time flies. Im friggin 60, but I still love the hell out of this music.
Curtis Moffett You can say that again!! ...Its over before you know it !!!
MrMrfreedom1 You can say that again brother...I'm 55 ...Not far behind you...Its seems like only yesterday I was 30 yrs old.....lol...Once you hit 30 its like everything speeds up and before you know it you're an old man....But I'm with you brother....I've loved this band since I was a teenager....lol.....
Curtis Moffett I was a sophomore. I got to see them several times during high school. Sooooo good!
Youth is wasted on the young
never knew how much, i could barely hold the tears back. never had a song affect me like that
Me too :(
@@norcaldigger348 me too, reminds m so much of my dad, God rest his soul!
My God was he ever beautiful then. He is still a sexy man even now. God Bless you Gregg and all that you have overcome to give us such beautiful, soulful music.
don't know if it means that much but here I am sitting in my home in a small Himalyan town listening to a concert recorded 24 years before I was even born. Music works in mysterious ways. LOVE AND PEACE TO MR ALLMAN
Now it was 2 years earlier 😊
No one sings a love song as good as this man
RIP, my Captain. Your voice has been, and will remain, a constant in y life. I'm sure I'm not alone in that sentiment.
Sam Cook tough day brother.
Ride on Gregg
Beautiful soul
Rest In Peace, Gregg Allman. Thanks for the great music.
WE WERE LUCKY TO HAVE THEM
Nothing better than raw, unfiltered talent. So refreshing. Could listen to this over and over again.
Aaron Pollak i don't know man....you see that new Rhianna video "Bitch Better Have My Money"? Powerful stuff.
Joe Jackson Get real....Comparing Rhianna to Greg Allman is kinda like comparing apples to oranges.....LMAO....No on second thought its even worse....Don't get me wrong...I'm not dissin' Rhianna ...Its not my thing but I respect anyone with talent wether its my thing or no....But to me Rhianna is not in the same league with Greg Allman....I mean back when Greg started these boys didn't have anyone to follow....They started from scratch...Sure they had their influences....A lot of them.....But not the same as today....Not even close....
That was sarcasm. I AM dissing Rhianna. She has cabbage in her muff.
Joe Jackson Forgive me Joe...Its sometimes hard to detect sarcasm in text....I apologize brother.....When I'm wrong I'll say I was wrong......Sorry brother !! I was wrong !
Joe Jackson Cabbage in her muff??.... LMAO.....That's disgusting !!...But funny as hell !!!
Wow! Wasn't expecting to see Dan Toler! Rest in peace my friend. The road goes on forever.
Amen
yeah I remember dangerous Dan told her was one of the main guitarist came about 1979.
what's the part of the band for quite a few years about the enlightened rogues time..
unfortunately Dan and his brother are no longer with us.
what do you have you been out realize although Dicky shoulders a lot of the lead guitar Les dudek helped out a little bit and before Warren Hayes it was indeed dangerous Dan Toler
Let's not forget his brother Frankie
... yeah, the title of the video "Gregg Allman - Full Concert" is a bit misleading... for the most part, it is Allman Brothers Band unplugged, as Gregg, Dickey and Danny Toler are playing together.
I'd like to point out how the doofases filming this allow Gregg to walk in, (at about 41 mins) take the time to unload his guitar and then they tell him; "Uh, could we try that again, but don't wave." And Gregg's like; "Don't wave?" It made me think of how salt of the earth Gregg was. Now, we have so-called 'stars' demanding bottled water with diamonds, specially catered food, and and huge entourages! They may know how to be celebrities, but they have no idea what being a true musician is about. Thank you, Gregg and Duane for being our best teachers! xx RIP
Right? All the phony stagecraft, and he was like, sure who cares, you're irrelevant anyway.
That's it, exactly this...
Absolutely! Very well said!
i would like to think maybe he had them direct his camera persona
This is why I love to read the comments. Cream of the crop right here. So true and so sad that we've gotten so spoiled. Well, we've allowed these asses to think they're more than they are. They couldn't get on stage and just play something real these days. Not many anyway. Great comment Sabrina.
far better guitar picker than I ever gave him credit for being
That little smile Gregg gives around the 1:00 mark when Dickey and Dan were synced up beautifully is what it’s all about
The Melissa jam that Dickey and Dan were locked into right at the beginning is absolutely sublime. That right there is two men who have both mastered the art of telepathic communication through music and know how to use it. Gregg's face at that moment says it all. Truly an inspired performance.
The lead part they played together is from Dickey Betts & Great Southern - Bougainvillea. Good song and good album
@@DelfinoSlim oh nice, didn’t know that. Instrumental song? I’ll have to check it out. Love me a Betts instrumental.
@@STSGuitar16It has verses but a long instrumental section in the middle, i'm sure you'll enjoy it
@@DelfinoSlim no doubt, man. Thanks for the rec.
Yep, seen them play Melissa with the Bougainvillea jam a bunch of times in the 90s. Cheers, all ✌🏽🌻
this right here is my favorite thing on the whole online world!.....warms and breaks my heart all at the same time...what a beautiful human being....may you rest in peace gregg!
this made my day! gregg allman is so soulful.... come and go blues was just amazing
This NEVER gets old!!!
I wish people would stop wondering if Gregg is tore up or under any influence here. So fucking what?! Its evident that you stopped to listen watch because he is & was a absolutey 1 of the greatest singer songwriter & musician EVER, that the world ever had & today we've lost ! R.I.P. GREGG YOUR MUSIC WILL LIVE ON. THE SKY IS DEFINITELY CRYING THIS DAY!
He was all that and more. He was one fine looking man! In fact I am pretty sure he set my standard for ideal man. Long blond hair, sweet face, a long and lean physique, talent running over, charismatic... I could go on and on. Made me appreciate the South. :)
Chill man
I will forever be in love with Gregg Allman. A total babe to the very end, what a talent.
So true! I often hear, How beautiful GA was when he was young. I beg to differ, he was & remained a beautiful gentleman til the end of his life.
Golden voice
Caught this One . . . who does'nt Love this Band , right
I love you, Gregg. You have been through so much. You are still the best ever!
Gregory you make me want to wrap my arms around you and never ever let go. Oh my what a beautiful sole you have such a wonderful presence that will live in me forevermore xoxox
Gregg Allman’s voice makes me put my guitar back in the case.
That is one awesome humane being.
One of the most unique voices in the music world. He croaks at times....and yet why is it still beautiful?
Heart and soul. Your heart and his soul.
Edgardo Bier - sounds like he had a cold or something. Maybe just worn out at that time. I’ve heard him sound better !!
Rest in Peace brother. A true legend and inspiration.

Still listening and loving Gregg Allman and the band.
RIP Gregg...you have touched so many with your music. Thank you!💞
October 2020
I used too live in Atlanta and long before their first album.. they had an incredible production set and played free concerts in Piedmont Park....I blew my mind on acid and used to sit directly in front of their speakers... In deep thought and admiration while Dwayne, Greg, Barry Oakley, Dicky Betts and they had 2 drummers... Dicky Betts and Dwayne both played the same riffs... deep meditation ,changed my life forever..❤💃👠🤩💋💋

My favorite version of Come and Go Blues. Totally love Mr. Allman. I was 13 when this came out. Loved them then. In highshool the Allman Bros were one of my faves.
I just thought of something, now in 2020 you hardly ever see goregious blond men with long hair like that anymore.
Keep looking boo.
He is so beautiful!!!
Melinda Lawley
Were you attempting to write the word "gorgeous"?
I was young and pretty and the whores would not leave me alone
Wow that was a great comment surrounded by angels with harps singing midnight Rider I love it
It is so raw and unfinished. It is what I search for...Excellence before it is done...
Kimberly Phillips Smith ...Kimberly smith.... you are awesome
agreed...raw perfection...beautiful
agreed. a single overdub ruins a live performance for me
...he told Cher she needed to sing like no one else mattered....she told him plenty of people bought her shit, she didn't need his advice....
He was sooo right....
I love his style....
He sings the way he feels...
Only way to do it...
Gregg also told Cher she smells like he imagined a mermaid would.
So much agreement
Cher has two lovers in heaven
@@KarensImaginarium fishy and salty?
and then in a real big fancy swanky restaurant in LA Greg fell asleep in a plate of spaghetti face first.out like a light for over 2 hrs Cher said until it was time to go home
22 people wouldn't know good music if their ears opened as wide as Dumbo's!
This was amazing. Humbled and thankful here.
Rest In Peace Greg. Bummer that you left this world at 69. You, and the Brothers were my Life.
One of the best things ever ,period.
Your ballad singings always make me sweetly sadly happy. RIP Gregg
Dan Toler is such a great player. RIP... hope they have guitars in heaven.
Allman Brothers are the greatest band ever you had to be in time you have to be a serious musician to play with them
So very talented!💙🎸
I was lucky enough to catch them early in their comeback. I was listening to their stuff as a little kid when I older brothers and sister were bring home their albums in the early 70's. . I was ecstatic when they came back with "Enlightened Rogues " in 1979. Caught them for one of my earliest and most memorable concerts at 15 years old. New Years Eve 1980 at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island NY. They were playing Whipping post and stopped about 2 minutes before midnight. Got all the people backstage onto the stage and everyone in the place did the final 10 second count down. At midnight balloons came down from the top of the Coliseum filling the place. After a few minutes of everyone shaking hands, kissing , hugging and sharing doobs the stage cleared off and they went right back into Whipping post to finish the evening.I saw them quite a few times after this and Greg and Dickie with their own bands but none stick out like my first.
The most influential band of my young life provided me with an unforgettable lifetime memory.RIP to Duane , Greg , Berry , Butch , Dan and any others I might not know in this bands history .I
Spectacular... I was fortunate to see them five times. RIP all.
Omg i love his pickin and his voice ...beautiful !
once in a lifetime talent .. grew up on ABB
The first track, instrumental (or Melissa?) is so heartbreaking beautiful and haunting. Such a very short snippet, but very memorable.
...yeah, it's the end of "Melissa", and you can hear Dickey and Danny incorporating that double-lead part from "Bougainvillea" into this song, like Dickey did it later with Warren at the MTV Unplugged concert! ;-)
Gregg is so great even though he is hiii..then after the break he as high as the blue sky..Much love brother. RIP.
Pure perfection chills. Magic 🎼🎸🎼⌨️🎵🎸🎼🎶🎵🍄🍄🍑
What a prince, pure soul sent from heaven
Such unbelievable music played in this rehearsal. Like a mini concert just for you. It doesnt hurt to look at an ideal man of beauty, masculinity & talent,
Gregory Allman
Six strings and some vocal chords was all they needed back in the day!
I fell in love theese guys , recovered them in 2020 ❤❤❤👍👍👍
I love listening to legends rehearse, the creativity of working things out. Nobody recorded Picasso painting, just saw the painting. Thank your lucky stars brothers and sisters, you watched 1/2 a Rembrandt for an hour!
we love you Gregg 💞
sad day today read in the papers greg is dead..now im getting drunk and listning good music..
Hey it’s 2021, my dad died in 2020, all an bros was a Florida family favorite! I live inTexas now and I’m a proud mixed raced Southerner! I don’t see color, just love freat music! God speed Brad Inghram, my pop, Duane and Greg Allman! See you in heaven!
Did the same thing . My ol man called me just to tell me he passed away . My folks came to GA sometime in the 1700's they tell me . The Allman brothers were played probably more than anything else when I was growing up .Rest in Peace brothers

you will truly, truly be missed. RIP gregg allman, have fun jammin with duane again :_)
Thanks for this sound quality up ! Like this ! "I leave this time baby, I ain't comin back no more"
Gotta read his book. Gregg has lived like 20 lifetimes. Cher told him (it's me or the drugs you can't have both) Gregg said (see Ya ) lol. He has the most soulfull voice I've ever heard. You know he was gonna be a DENTIST if the music didn't pay off.
Curtis Moffett If he was 1/100 as good a dentist as he is a musician, I'd have NO trouble lettin' him drill my teeth. Ha! Peace Curtis
The book is called my cross to bare great book
JD Adams Couldn't help but think about this when I read your comment...What if he WAS a dentist...And came into the room to drill your teeth...and he was as high as he was in this video ?? ..I'll be damned if he would drill ANYTHING on me looking like that !!....Eyes half closed...He cant even open them all the way.......No way brother....You aint gettin' close to me with a drill in your hand......LMAO
+Curtis Moffett Greg said in an interview that Cher did drugs right along with him. So Cher was definitely was "no angel" her damn self.
Buck Sellers ida let him drill me
Nothing but Talent!! What a sound
beautiful ❤
It doesn't get better than this! :-)
RIP Brother Gregg
That's about as real as it gets, and portrays the key to the highway. Drive that note to the end of the road.
awesome post...thanks
We all partied at the Crazy Horse Tavern on Thursday night we just couldn’t wait until Friday. Greg lost his drivers license and he walked there 😂
Gregg, Happy birthday to you in heaven. We all miss you.
Thank you for Uploading this :) QC
Greatest blues band in the planet.... simple.
LOVE!
Rest in Peace+Gregg Allman
Dickie,tearing it up!!!!
R.I.P Greg Allman ⚡️
Gregg never knew how much he needed Dickey...love them both forever
Thanks for posting this. Heartbreakingly poignant.
Nobody has mentioned Dan Toler--a complete shame. He carries all the guitar playing in his time on camera. I like Dickey Betts-- a lot. Dickey is short on his game here, which is okay. It's a candid shoot. Dan's really trying, in addition to being good. He's paying attention. Gregg and Dickey were both likely out of their heads for this, for their own reasons. "Come and Go Blues": Couldn't be any better. Watch Dan for the rest--and look for him elsewhere.
+Alex Gwin I agreed Alex. I'm about to find out more about Dan Toler. He was rock steady the whole time.
This is not only Gregg solo on "Come & Go Blues", but also Dickey Betts and Danny Toler on the other tunes, making this an Allman Brothers unplugged performance.. ;-)
Down in the pits of that soul laid the blues, dark as the pitch of night, and oh so true.
Doesn't get any better than this...
Gregg's mistakes are better than anything Florida Georgia Line does.
