Seeing the Predator wield that antique gun at least makes me happy that Chuck Dixon is referencing one of my favorite Predator movies, "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly Motherf"""ker".
Sal's disdain for 20th centuary comics is perfectly symbolized by the Predator on set placed on the marvel shelf next to "How to draw comics the Marvel way"
Every time Sal covers a Predator book I just want to eventually have a Predator story written by him come out. It would be epic and blow the current marvel series out of the water.
Whenever Ben impersonates Predator talking through clicks, I laugh a little. If only he added a "grrrrrr" (like how Perry The Platypus would usually talk), that would be even more funnier😂😂😂😂. Keep it up, guys. Love the work.
Hey, Comic Pop! Not sure y'all remember me, but I did a mock interview with you the Saturday of San Diego Comic Con by DSTLRY Comics (the annoying guy with so many questions). The same guy who knew nothing about your channel (call me a heathen!). I hope you all are doing well and it was a pleasure to meet you. I'm glad I was exposed to your channel and more than look forward to your future content. Than you so much for being so cool to talk to and being willing to talk to someone that knew nothing about the channel. Anyway, thank you all for being so cool. Looking forward to your future content. That and pestering you with questions in the future (potentially). Kind regards, Jerrett, aka Jet
Oracle not knowing Robin's identity while weird is consistent with continuity. Dixon doesn't have Barbara and Tim meet in person until Cataclysm. Even then it's not established that she knows Tim's identity until 2001. Although it's very likely that Oracle always knew Tim's identity and was just humoring him.
For years now, every time I hear about or talk about the predator in any capacity my mind goes back to an issue of Twisted Toyfare Theater. I don’t remember the context of the gag, or the Toyfare issue it was in. I just remember a predator being there and the onomatopoeia they used was just “predator noise predator noise predator noise”. It’s been lodged in my brain ever since.
That idea also works within Sal’s frame of what makes a good predator story that it’s another story and then the predator shows up. Imagine the terminator is doing what it does and then a predator appears and it thinks it’s Dutch and it’s like the life mate of the one he killed
1:52:16 The next Predator movie that's separate from the Prey sequel is called Badlands. Dan Trachtenberg (Prey) is going to direct it and it will be set in the distance future
Speaking as someone who works at a furrier, the cold storage area is merely to preserve the coats that have already been made in a low humidity and low temperature environment in the off season months. It preserves the skins more or less. Also it’s typical for a furrier to clean the coats and add essential oils into the skins so they don’t biodegrade. The pelts that arrive to the store are usually already opened up and treated usually by either a trapper or a tanner and then those pelts are sold at auction to the various fur houses across the globe
Black Panther vs. Predator? And then, right after I typed that I looked it up to find out, yeah, they're about to release that in a couple weeks. When that gets collected, it'd be their...third...Black Panther comic.
They should have had a predator show up during knightfall. I imagine a Sal-based Predator seeing Azreal Batman and being truly depressed and annoyed st his time being wasted. Then scalping Jean Paul out of spite.
It's so funny how the fact that predators could live for hundreds of years is the most unbelievable part to you guys XD Like- We have species on earth that can do that too, hell, Lobsters are effectively immortal as long as they keep shedding and we can DEFINITELY kill those guys with rocks lol
That first BVP video you guys did got me through a psych paper. Sad we'll never get more crossovers but who knows. Also, I can't help but notice some additions to the wall in the background. How very interesting.
I'm so hung up on what could've been. Would be so awesome to see Freeze go toe to toe with a Predator. Like batman in BVP1. There's a pitch I could get behind.
25:14 I always say you can tell with Darth Vader in comics who is pausing the movies, who is using the action figures, and who is using their replica of his helmet
In another universe, Batman turns to Robin at the beginning of the book and tells him “I’ve seen this before and you’re not ready for it. I need you to stay close until it’s over.”

Ngl Black panther vs predator sounds like one of those thing that’s cool but T’Chala like entirely out classes the predator that it should be the predator being hunted by a catman
@@accidentalmadness1708 I mean, Death Battle has done some more grossly outclassed matches (Deadpool vs. Mask, Omni-Man vs. Homelander) than Black Panther/Predator.
I don't think a series this short has ever wasted so much page real-estate on dumb, irrelevant shit. As Sal said about 80 minutes in, he put WAY more thought/effort into this episode than Dixon put into the story.
The worst part about the Batman-Predator crossovers, after the first one, to me is that they never got a chance to properly use the Batman universe. Seeing a Predator fight the rogues could be interesting! The Predator wading through a jungle-like green house that Poison Ivy made, filled with man-eating plants! The Predator having an implied previous battle with Ra's Al Ghul, or hunting Killer Croc in Gotham's sewers. If you want to be really indulgent, I wouldn't be too opposed to the Joker being hunted through an elaborate hall of mirrors by the Predator
Gotta put my foot down, Prey is genuinely so good. And the OG Predator is good for a few good reasons and a few funny reasons. So they aren’t allll bad films
@@comicpop I knew I should’ve waited, sorry I was an asshole! Great episode tho, and I hope you guys cover more crossovers in the future. I know they don’t perform well but with growing up reading the Amalgam comics and watching Freddy vs Jason I grew such a soft spot for that kind of stuff. Especially when they’re just the right amount of bad
Between this and Batman vs predator 2 this is the one I like more as even after reading the second one and watching your video on it I can not remember a dang thing that happens in that story.

Yuatja are similar to reptiles, unless disease, accident, or violence is involved they live centuries. We know that the greyback elder from Predator 2 is at least 200 year old due to expanded material for the film.

I love the Predator franchise (dig most of the movies), but in terms of the comics? That's a whoooole different story. Was hoping you guys would cover this one eventually. It is so bafflingly bad.
