  • How to clean a car without touching the paint in less than 20 minutes. I will share the tools and products that I use to do a touchless car wash as well as the techniques to do it safely and effectively. A pressure washer, Foam cannon and a leaf blower is all you need. When you clean your car without touching it you virtually eliminate scratching, marring and swirl marks on the paint. This no touch car wash process is best used between larger details on a vehicle that has some form of protective coating and is lightly soiled. Its great to freshen up the car after a rainy drive. The touchless car wash is my go to safe alternative to the full wash process. The touchless car wash only achieves a 90-95% effectiveness (depending on how dirty the car is to start with) so keep that in mind. I hope this video helps you to clean and dry a car without touching it and adds this skill to your detailing arsenal.

    Love it, I just started doing this about 2 months ago since I got a new car and my wife got a new car 6 months ago. We started paying a monthly subscription to a local touchless car wash, then I found out how high pH those are and possibly damaging. Researched, built a detailing cart with a Karcher 1700, Cox Reel, CR Spotless filter, and Toro 725CFM plug in leaf blower. So easy, once a week it gets 90% clean and more importantly it's low effort (aka low sweat) and fast. Once every 4-6 weeks do a full wash, done deal. I love it. I think the key to making it work is a good protection layer that's slick. I put ceramic on both cars and then a slick topper with either McKee's 37 Hydro Blue Pro or Gtechniq C2v3 (as a drying aid). Put on the topper every two months or so, keep it as low effort as possible at every angle.

    Excellent vid, bro. I just tried a touchless method for the first time today (before seeing this video) and failed at the leaf blower stage. I was cursing the EGO unit (the 530 CFM), wondering why all I could do was push water around. My arm almost fell off, LOL. Then you come along with the answer: P&S Bead Maker. Not only that, after my leaf blower fail, I said to myself, "well, next time I'll just use a microfiber towel after the wash." Nope. You saved me from another fail. Subbed and will use the affiliate links to buy some products. Thanks!

      Worse. I just spent an hour washing my car yesterday (admittedly I was moving slower than normal because for once it was nice outside in FL), looked perfect when I was done. Cold front moved in last night and I guess I slept through some crazy winds because I woke up today and it literally looked like someone picked up grass and dirt and threw it all over my car. To the point where I was actually questioning if someone really did, then I realized everything was dirty everywhere.
      Got everything out just now and did my regular touchless wash and it basically looks completely clean again. I love it.

    Hello great video! I plan on buying an all black car. Going to get it ceramic coated. I want to avoid touching the car as much as I could during the wash and drying process. I want to do my very best to not scratch or leave swirls on my paint. Would only air drying method without using a microfiber towel work when drying the car with air blower? Could you please give me tips or advice to avoid scratches or swirls on my black paint car. Thank you!!

    Thanks for the vid! I picked up my pre-owned Model 3 a few weeks ago…love it! Unfortunately I hit a raccoon at 0’dark thirty in the a.m. while doing about 70 mph and it’s in the shop now. $6500 worth of damage. Should be done in a few days. I’ll be adopting your method after I get ppf for the front end. Luckily I already own the ego blower (along with the ego mower). I’ll also use Turtle Wax Hybrid Graphene post wash. Have you seen that in action? Great stuff and inexpensive. Thanks again! Subscribed!

    I was looking for an EGO a while back but couldn't find one with a battery here on island. Ended up with a corded Toro Power Jet F700 from Home Depot. Man does it have some power. At under $60 it's a great value alternative to the EGO.

    If you have any sort of ceramic coating or spray such as fast finish or AP’s ceramic spray advanced. There is no reason to wash it any other way. Only thing I would do is use a blower that has some sort of filter on it so it does not smack and contaminates on the clean car. I like the master blaster blowers personally

    I do the same process but add the step of turning off the pressure washer, removing the nozzle, and using free flowing water to dry as much of the car as I can before using my blower. I do this because my city's water is extremely hard (TDS of 400+ ppm) This eliminates most of the water on the vehicle that can turn into water spots, and I'm not racing around the car with the blower.

    I tried this method on my brand new 2022 black Challenger widebody yesterday and I'm afraid that it doesn't work that well. The soap leaves streaks, and the blower doesn't get rid of the super tiny water dots. I can blow dry for 2 hours and the tiny water dots remain and then dry on the paint. I was really hoping this method worked as well as it did in your video and others, but there seems to be no replacement for microfiber cloth.

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  2 года назад

      You have to have a ceramic coating that is up kept with a protectant type topper so that the dirt comes off easy and the water beads and can be blown off easy with the blower. Without a high level of hydrophobic action the water and soap will stick to the raw paint and the blower is not effective. Even with that this process is only good for a light mid week cleaning. If you wanted this to be effective on a dirty car you would have to use a strong soap that can eat the dirt off without agitation which has it own set of issues. It would eat the dirt and a bit your protection each wash. Also terrible outcome if it dries on the paint. Hope that helps and keep in mind that these are just my thoughts on this. Use this as a way to light clean a protected car in between washes. Use a traditional wash process for a really dirty car. Thanks for watching

    • @user-cp6hi5qv6g
      @user-cp6hi5qv6g Год назад

      I agree with @Ranter550 - on my wife’s black car, this technique made it slightly less dirty. You could still see a film of dirt that would come off easily with an actual rag. Back to two bucket system for me.

  • @drumfrodo
    @drumfrodo 2 года назад

    Great video! Did you try skipping the pre-rinse part, and just apply the foam straight to a dry car? Most testing has actually shown that to be even more effective - and you save some time as well :)

      I let it sit roughly 10 mins. 15 if you count the application. I want it to sit as long as it can but definitely not drying or all running off the paint. I eyeball the right time to rinse it off. That’s the best practice. I definitely don’t time it. If it’s hot it may be foam on and rinse off. If it’s a cool day and out of the sun than longer is better. This Hawaii red dirt needs extra soak time.
