I'm so happy I got clean and sober. I was out in Kensington about 10 years ago getting high. Now I live about 20 min away. Driving through that is a constant reminder of what my life could've became if I kept getting high. #gratefulrecoveringaddict
@@Redeemed.of.YHVH.thru.Christ thank you
Congratulations 🎊🎉
👍🙂💙
Good for you❤
@@harryhilton4154 thank you
My uncle is James! Thank you so much for letting me know he is alive. My heart is breaking he is my favorite uncle. I’m 4 months clean. I wish he could get it. He lost his 2 brothers both parents young. And the one brother was my dad ( accidental overdose 😢 ) thank you for doing what you do.
who is james in the video?
He’s the dude who had to move out of his mother in laws house…
Seems like a nice guy but lost soul.
My heart goes out to these people - as someone who can relate to addiction I wish I could do something to help…
It’s crazy US is sending god knows how many billions to Ukraine, but cannot help w this war at home to help these suffering people. I know solution is not easy but they absolutely could - if they wanted to -create live in/work for - programs for people like this. I know they want help. And obviously NEED it.
But hey let’s give illegal immigrants cell phones, hotel rooms, and debit cards - while our citizens sleep on cold concrete….btw I know you cannot just hand cash over to addicts….but if we took that budget and focused it on crisis at home - we could create programs that actually help and save lives.
Sorry for rant - I just know how hard it is - and I’m so lucky to have gotten my sh together, but I couldn’t have done it without support. That’s what these people need - support….esp that girl in complete denial who “loves” selling her P all day (will be too old soon for that and then what?)….the articulate black guy who seems intelligent and motivated - someone give him a job already. Tia seems smart and capable too. All of these people could be so much more.
We need to come up with a system to get these guys out one by one, clean them up (inside and out) give them hope and purpose, help them live a life worth living. Right now they’re spiritually dead and cannot love themselves. They are not a lost cause. We cannot give up on these people. It’s a terrible sickness and everyone thinks they’re just “fuck ups” when in reality they’re surviving with a deadly disease.
😳😵💫🤯And the craziest part is that help them would be a profitable cause! The damage this situation does on society outweighs financially what it would cost to “fix” and “alleviate” the problem. Litterally! Look at the big picture - helping them helps everyone. So why are we keeping them sick? Wtf?
My heart hurts 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I’m not religious but I’m sending all the best hopes, wishes, and positive energy to each of them. I know it’s hard to love yourself atm but I hope one day the shame and guilt will subside and you realize you’re a worthy human! I hope you survive and get the help you need 🌸🌸💚💚💛💛
He is at minute mark “ 1:04” also his girlfriend “ tally” that isn’t even her real name but that’s another story. If he would have never met her I honestly think he would be getting help. They are in a trauma bond. 😭 a sickly one as well as addiction.
@grifyn882
Stay clean bro, I almost 2 yr clean from heroin and crack and a few months clean of methadone now and just beginning to feel I can rebuild my life.
Good luck to you
As a 47 year old man celebrating 13 years sober today this hurts to watch but this is so so necessary thank you brother
Congratulations on your sobriety.
Keeping it green 😊👍
I’m 44, clean for 14 years ❤ we do recover
Omg, the guy that wasn’t on his lease and lost his home, was so smart and sweet, I wish him well ,I really hope something good comes to all that want it! God please be with these people in Jesus name, forgive us our sins Amen.
Agreed❤🙏🏻
God instructed us to be with these , and we put it back on him .
AHMEN
You can’t not be on your own lease, he even said it was his friend’s apartment.
Your imaginary friend can't help anybody
What a well spoken black man in the blue hooded jacket. I felt bad...he seems like a good person who is just down on his luck. He seems like a hard worker..as he said he did before he became homeless. Hope he gets a break soon 🙏...
I completely agree so well spoken and just the way he came off was like if he went to rehab then got a good steady job he would contribute a lot to society. It’s crazy you have that dude and then we have the one girl that was proud that she is living in her hood and she don’t ever wanna leave . Now I don’t think someone like her could ever get in the right direction because her attitude about herself is just insane ..

'The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world' Thank you Mal for sharing your empathy.
I do agree with all you have said
Ok we have empathy-now what ? This is t showing empathy letting our fellow Americans live like this - yet illegals get the world ! Disgusting
you probably dont even know what that word means. these people feeding these people and their habits and making it easy for them to stay on the street being drug addicts is anything but empathy,
@@jjg1501 maybe you are the one who doesn't know the meaning of the word empathy and are confusing it with sympathy. Empathy is the ability to understand where someone is coming from, how they got to where they are now. Without judging, without agreeing or disagreeing with their choices. I was thanking Mal, not these people who are feeding these people as you state, for sharing his ability to understand and give a voice to someone.
For your information the quote about empathy originates from the great philosopher Plato who has a scale for the forms of knowledge, empathy being the highest. It seems you are not far up that scale. But that doesn't mean you can't strive to get there :)
I do not agree. Empathy is important, but empathy without questioning is dangerous.
Rooting for the black guy.
He can get out of this vicious cycle with the right help; I’m sure of it.
He clearly had it together in comparison to the others. He'll get out.
I truly hope so but he's been there for 4 and a half years already.
he seems coherent and smart, i wish he can break the cycle.
i also root for the white beardguy, just feel he is too far one to get out.
Rooting for EM all, ANYONE is capable of change
I lost my husband to Covid, my doctor kept pushing Xanax on me I refused. I had no job and no money I was left with nothing except for my cats dog and a bird. I struggled but I never went to drugs and now I am working a security office and planning to get my act 235. It’s sad these young people are stuck in streets and doing drugs but believe me if you be little stronger and ask God for help you will get through it 😢
I'm sorry about your loss, it's very difficult to lose someone very close to your heart unexpectedly from one day to another. However, I am so happy to have read your story, you are so strong and have PROVEN that with faith, motivation and determination. Everyone has a chance. I just pray that the younger folks are able to see a way out and grab on to it instead of just letting life pass them by and then they wake up one day and they are 50-60 years old and they've let their life go
@@tutinn_ thank you and I pray for the youth since they are our future
My father has at least 4vaccines under his belt. The second one almost cost him his life. He still hasn't learned.
We are sadly seeing this because this generation is brought up NOT learning God n biblical principles. Without faith, it's nearly impossible to avoid drugs,alcohol,etc... I'm sorry about your loss. May you have many many loving memories to brighten your heart despite the tears and anguish of loss.
All you need to do is ask for help you shall receive this is the best country in the world many programs that help
As long as there is breath in their lungs…there is hope. This was my life. After a while I couldn’t even imagine what it would be like to not live that way anymore. But there is help and I pray they find it before it takes them. Big love to all that are out there hurting and broken. Your life is worth fighting for.
The drug crisis in the United States is challenging for the country, here in Brazil we also have this challenge, in addition to many others, I imagine how many other functional addicts there are across America, people who work, live in their homes, but are also sick, it's a great challenge for humanity in the future. Mental and physical illnesses will increasingly increase. Great documentary, thank you for fighting for those most in need, hugs here from southern Brazil.
well said
Thank god Brazil has Lula as President, a man who understand the situation of the people in need.
У нас в России такое даже невозмоно!У нас с наркотиками борятся!
@@user-xw3nn3cs5xI traveled through Saint Petersburg and Moscow in August 2020 and haven't seen a single bum sleeping on the streets, i felt very safe, maybe on the outskirts, drugs is everywhere.
My husband was a "functioning" addict until it killed him in 2021. He was a commercial fisherman & his work ethic was on a level of its own, even in the throes of addiction. His addiction struggles robbed us of a beautiful life 💔.
Fir the girl who said she likes it in Kensington will unfortunately leave in a body bag..sad😢
shes in total denial.
IF they find her body....
Definitely 💯
For real 💯
I'm sure she knows that herself
In the year 2065 people will be watching this for research. Nice job.
Remember you are recording history as it was.
Absolutely
For sure
The black guy that set up shop outside and said he's been there for four in a half years talks very articulate. When I look at these videos I'm like damn he or she could be so successful and have a much better life if they never touched those life altering drugs. I also look at these videos and say thank God that's not me, my sister's or my parents. I can't imagine having a life like this. I don't look down on nobody but I just wish they had a better way of life 😥

Fantastic documentary Mal. That girl-in the green coat with the foul mouth sadly won’t last long on the street. But she lives with her mom now so this is all still an exciting joke to her.
She’s absolutely vile. Poor excuse of a woman
Thank you for making this Mal. You are greatly appreciated my friend. I got out of there in 2015 and I watch your videos to remind me. I pray for these people & hope they can get out of that horrible place. Something needs to change. Keep bringing the awareness.
When I was a kid in the sixties, my aunts, uncles and parents were all talking about drugs. They said foreign countries were bringing in the drugs to get the Americans hooked and that would destroy America. Now as I sit here in my sixties, I can’t help but think of how these poor people are hooked. Sending strength to them to get clean.
That's exactly what is happening and our wonderful president is allowing it with the borders being wide open !!
Amazing work: You are allowing the voices of the margin to be heard. Their poignant stories tell truths we all understand.
The pandemic really shined a light on how precious each paycheck is to a large population of people. So many people are 1 lost paycheck away from homelessness. Don't be quick to judge. You don't know what kind of life the person you're looking at had or has.
My heart breaks for these people. So many beautiful lives affected by circumstances & drugs. God help them find their way. Lord break the chains of addiction.💜💜 This country needs to do more for our citizens.
Mal your work plus ur life are always in my prayers! Thank you for doing what you’re doing in this world! I pray everyone you come across on your path become healthy and clean if not all some! You’re a touch of love exactly where it’s needed!
Prayers for strength comfort peace and healing freedom from the devil and his devices..may you all find the strength to walk away from the devil s devices and you put yourselves into a rehab facility, abd get completely healed, physically and spiritually in the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST AMEN AND THANKYOU FATHER YHVH ❤

All people need understanding. everyone has a story and been in a sad, bad situation, These people need help. They are trying to escape their reality. Great video. Hope it helps others to understand.
I AM SO GLAD YOU BACK AML ❤❤❤❤GOD IS GREAT!! You are healed and out here AMEN ❤
I've been following your channel for about several years. This video is really well done Mal!
I wish major tv networks will show this on nation wide basis. This should be watched by more people!
Great job on the documentary, Mal! I’m sending my love. Thank you to everyone for sharing part of their lives with all of us. I’ll be praying for them all.
Great insight Mal into the impact these horrible drugs are having on people.
I ran the streets of Kensington from 93 till about 8 years ago. Idk how I survived. Through that time I spent close to 18 years in prison. I've been clean now for almost 9 years. I have to drive through the still all the time for work and it's crazy. I'm lucky I finally got out cause it's not the same out there
Deep documentary! Gave me chills, that’s that raw honesty God bless the lost souls.
Young lady in the girl coat needs an intervention and quick. That non-chalant attitude with cause her to lose her life🥹
Green jacket girl is gonna flip when reality hits her in the face. Sad man, damn. Good video. Keep helping and talking to ppl. You are doing a good thing.
She enjoys the life, but she'll have a bad encounter with a client at some point and her health will start to decline over time.
I love how honest all these people are with him, about themselves, and their struggles.
Excellent idea for a video Mal. Hopefully this does numbers, Hopefully some of them escape the torment they're going thru
I love how you do what you do. ❤❤❤The compassion you have is seem in every video. Your Channel is the best. I watch it everyday. Love you Mal.❤
Good afternoon MAL I pray that things gets better out here in these streets have a safe and blessed day🤎
If it wasn't for people like Mal these people that allow you to interact with them would never be heard or even seen at times. God Bless you Malcolm and i hope you are doing fantastic.💖
Someone else has been doing these interviews for years as well
That poor guys lips r trembling idk if it's from cold or brain damage from the drugs both reasons are so sad 😢😢😢
This was really dope Mal 🙌🏾💕💪🏾you have so much patience....seriously
A I can say is I feel a profund sadness with their stories!?😢😊
Exceptional job with this documentary. I 😘 ve the way you transition from one person to the next and how you bring the interviewees in so that they freely tell the story. Only thing that i didn't care for was ending with the girl in the green jacket and her vile talk. There is no hope in that. Kudos Mal!
Same the girl in the green is vile . Every time her parts came on my face would scrunch up listening to her, like wtf
*To our government, if, you're going to clear out the streets make sure the homeless are housed and provide medical assistance. Don't just push them away.*

AML FILMS, I have been a Cinematographer in the industry for 28 years. You are the best for presenting your documentaries with articulate, informative and support content. You should venture to Los Angeles and get into the industry and Union using your exquisite film talents. Present your videos as your resumes. The entertainment industry is like no other. You belong there. Upward and onward AML.
Please don't MAL 😢
I would disagree. Mal is a very important member of that community. Stay with this Mal and God bless you my dear Brother. Your kindness is clear.
Great documentary Mal! Love your channel-thank you for the work you do!
What we’re witnessing is an extremely serious and complex Social Issue! Drug addiction has plagued society for thousands of years and nothing will change! If we want something bad enough, we’ll go and get it or procure it, regardless if it’s good or bad for us! It’s what makes us human!
Thank you for your eye opening video. Hope this brings more awareness to this crisis.
Awesome documentary good facts. Hope this video can save 1 person from becoming an addict.
God bless🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
mal you are an awesome person to help people so much and giving people a name out there to be known hope your still doing good health wise you sound better anyway thanks be to god for that we all need you
Great work you always do Mal! You’re so kindhearted! My favorite is Charles, the young black man, he seems so sweet, smart, handsome so my heart breaks for him! The woman who loves Kensington in my opinion out of all your videos I’ve been watching for years is not very “educated” God bless to all those who go thru struggles and God Bless you Mal! ❤🙏🏽

Wow Mal that was excellent!!!!
Great job Mal! This documentary is very impactful. It's well put together and tells a live and direct story of the effects and life that drugs give.
Sadly the one girl in the green is gone so far that she except it as normal
Shes gotta be high to be talking like that. No way can someone be ok with this.
@@hangingonyou’d be surprised bro..I’ve seen and know girls like that..I promise you that’s her everyday personality…

She chosen this life style and you cant help her unless she wants help so let her be. And most likely that's her behavior because I see a lot of girls like that on the streets so let live and let die.
Shes horrible person
You do amazing work to bring light to this crisis. Truly wonderful!!❤❤❤
Great work Mal! ❤😊
“ A friend of mine introduced me to it “ , most commonly heard sentence from a drug addict . They were never your friend.

The black guy with the go-tee has so much potential it almost makes me cry and I’m a grown man.
Best video I’ve seen so far definitely praying for these people ❤🫶🏾🤞🏾
The girl in the green jacket is in denial and I hope she gets the help she so much needs. All of them actually need help but the others already understood and accepted the fact that they have a problem and they need help to overcome addiction and that is the first step. She just seems happy about it but it must be a mask.

everybody knows about Kensington. Unfortunately, it's infamous. Im a recovering addict and this is heartbreaking to watch. Im glad i got out before fent was out like it is now.

Kensington ROCKS 🤩
Thank you for the documentary...spread the love❤!💯😢💯👍✌🙏!
The girl with the green jacket… You are already dead you just don’t realise it.
Awesome documentary Mal!❤
As a recovering addict I find it so disrespectful for all the ppl dying each day and struggling from minute to minute that the girl in the green thinks it's all fun and games out there.
@Cole, yes you are right, but the lady is deep in addiction and that is pure drug fuelled nonsense she is spewing, when she eventually hits rock bottom, she will see things differently.
If you watch her carefully, she repeats almost everything she says a 2nd time silently, she is extremely defensive, and there is something else controlling her that is lieing to her and is not about to wake her up. (She) believes she is having fun, but an entity is feeding off her so she's not allowed to think about the seriousness, she's only allowed to believe her pussy is the shit and she's on top. She's isn't free. She isn't actually having fun. An entity controls her.
And its mentally ill probably ...i miself got two issues .Adiction and mental health
Yeah it's so disrespectful hunni I agree
She also admitted to having AIDS on All Time Medias channel
Peace and love
This documentary has everything. All of these people you interviewed have a lot of trust in you (except Ashley) but it's obvious that she isn't mentally stable right now. I hope we see more like this from AML. The cinematography is top notch. Thank you, Mal!
Another insightful video Mal
Stay safe . Sending ❤
Charles i have faith in you,you can make it out of that hell hole i know you can,i can see it in your eyes.x
Excellent raw and real documentary 👍💯
With all the vacant malls and factories in this country there’s no reason for these people to be on the streets.
Amen and let's go!!!
Hahnemann University Hospital is about 10 minutes away and sits empty. City or state could take it by eminent domain, and open it up as a non profit mental health addictions hospital. But no it sits EMPTY!! It could be a world class place!!
Here’s my question. If all of these homeless addicts are moved into vacant buildings, who takes care of them? It is apparent that most have mental health issues. So who takes care of the building utilities, maintenance, etc., so they are physically safe and environmentally safe? It’s easy to say give them an empty building. But there are so many issues. I would like to hear opinions on this. I believe that each soul is worthy of a hand up. Not a hand out. This is very important when you talk about housing these people. If the streets are this nasty, imagine what a building would become.
I wish nothing but the best for every last one of them and I hope they get the help that they need❤
It's good to actually hear these people out, hear their stories. Everybody is a person and unfortunately a lot of people forget that when looking at drug addicts and homeless people. Thanks for letting these people share their stories man. I am an addict myself and was on the streets homeless on many occasions. I've been to prison 3 times and I've finally gotten sober and been clean for 2 years now. But it took people actually caring to hear me out and help, and a lot of hard work on my part to get clean and stay clean. Thank God I'm not in this situation anymore. I feel for every addict.
You can tell the girl in the green coat still has a home with her mother. She hasn’t experienced the streets. She will definitely leave in a body bag if she keeps up the attitude. And depending on what’s with her mother she will get kicked out. Unless her mother is an addict? But still has a home so that seems unlikely. Interesting story. Love to know her mothers thoughts. She also said she started pot etc in disobedience school, so we know shes a problem child, that was sent away.!
Hopefully the mother isn't enabling the drug use.
At least she doesn't do hard drugs
She's a nymph
@@gbeachbum464there’s no way her mom isn’t insane too . We are molded as you grow up, usually by our parents (and peers) but I’m js
she's most likely the way she is bc her mother if she's staying w her mom then she knows she's using n like you said she's prob using too n enabling her
Yep, mom encourages it. “Get me some too,” type of attitude…
It’s unfortunate…
As a functional addict, these videos terrify me which is probably a good thing tbh
Free yourself for the huge burden of the feeling that "I MUST have it, otherwise I will be sick". I'm a former addict so I know very well how it's. Before I quit it, I only took it so I didn't became sick. The sickness is a real terror and scary as F. I hope you will find the strength to make yourself a really free person, who also is in real connect with your emotions. Maybe you're scare of your true emotions/yourself and "hide" behind the drugs, I don't know. But even if you take a smaller amount and "keeps it clean" as a functional addict, you aren't in connection with YOU. Please I hope you figure this out🙏 and I'm not judging you, I just want you to be really happy, FEEL for REAL really happy❣️
Sorry no such thing hope you get better soon
Amazing well done Mal
