If you want to charge a battery without catching fire, you'll need a buck boost with constant current pot. In general, you'll find three resistor pots (voltage, current, battery full indication) instead of one.
It can work but due to low current it will take too long to charge up the battery another thing is the power losses inside the boost converter which makes it inefficient.The boost converter costs 99INR but you can easily built a more powerful power supply in cheap.

no problem, this module supports wide input range between 2-24V and the output can adjustable between 5-28V. If you want to charge a 6v battery just set the output to 7-7.5V, that's it.

if you boost the voltage, definitely the current would decrease. such charger's current rating is only 1-2 amps at 5 volts. that is 5 to 10w power. if you boost 5v to 16v, the power remains same. so the output current would be probably below 30mA(depending on the efficiency of your booster). with this low current, you will need many days of continuous charging to make the battery full. is it a proper method....?????

But according to ohm's law voltage is directly propotinal to current then how u can say that when boost the voltage then current will decrease.??

considering 80% efficiency of this boost converter.
(0.76x80)/100=0.6Amp
to charge a 5Ah battery,
5/0.6=8.3 hours.

R u going to charge this for a decade ? Buck boost converter can be used in a low power application . Here u can easily design a circuit usimg a transfomer, few diodes , capacitor and voltage regulator

It will suck up more current from chrger a 2amp charger vs more than 7 amp of battery it will generate a lot of heat and it will take some time to fully charge the battery. imagine a 10 ton boulder and put them and a two ton car. Goodluck.
Should turn it up to 13.8v which is the correct amount!!! And you forget to tell people that whenever you charge these types of batteries, they are prone to vent harmful gas ,and they have a potential to explode, or cause FIRE 🔥🔥🧨🧨
