    its not a good idea... from 5v 2a charger you can not charge a 12v /7a/9a battery .charging amp would be less then 1 amp .i think max output will be around 12-14v/ 500-600 mili amp .

      I think this circuit is possible to charge the battery but very slow charging. Because of boost converter will take some 50% 500mA for converting 5v to 14V. for conversion efficiency 85% means 15% of 150mA gone loss. balance amps 350mA will be come out of this converter. this may take several hours to charge 7Ah battery 7/0.350=20 Hrs.
      My worry is there is no fly back protection (from Battery to circuit) to the boost converter as well as to the 5v Charger. If there is any option let me know.

    Yes, it will work - theoretically. This module does not limit the charging current. A discharged 12V battery will initially draw a lot of current. Let's only calculate 1 amp (which is far too low!). 14V / 1A means 5V / 2.8A (we have 100% efficiency 😁 ). So we pull just under 3A from the 2A USB charger. Starting->protective shutdown->starting->protective shutdown... will definitely be funny 😇How long will it take to load? On the other hand, if we use a more powerful USB charger, we will get a thermal problem with the DC-DC module. MT3608 has 4A switching current limit - means 2A at input(!) - and that only with sufficient cooling and not permanently. Take a current-controllable module or a even better, a suitable charger.

      @@malisagbili Please calculate the current limit of a 20W / 12V light bulb yourself or measure it in practice. On 14 volt side it is not enough and on 5 volt side it is too much. 🤔

      @@wernerpeter9706 My power supply 14 volt 5 Amper. For battery charge; 600 mA with 20 watt car bulb, 1700 mA with 60 watt car bulb (serial connection).

      @@malisagbili That's exactly what I mean - the 20W 12V light bulb between the USB power supply and the DC converter is limited to +- 500 mA - you charge the 12V battery with about 150 mA . The 20W 12V light bulb between the DC converter and 12V battery is limited to 1.5-1.8A - for this the USB charger would have to be able to deliver at least 4.5A. But it can't and the converter wouldn't be able to handle it either.
      You have to include the DC-DC converter in the calculation, it has to increase the voltage from 5V to 14V and the power supply can only deliver 2A on the 5V side. More than 10 watts are not available.

      @@wernerpeter9706 We think the same things. The 20 watt bulb you will connect between the negative or positive pole of the battery will be charged with 600 mA, that is, 8.5 watts (14*.6). 5volt 2 amp adapter can do this job.

Would the module be damaged? My project is to charge an 8.4v battery with its respective 2s bms using a 5 volt usb and raise the voltage with the mt3608 but everything will be soldered and that is my doubt

      The output current depends on the payload. AFAIK, the step-up module used by author supports loads up to 3A.
      Recommended charging current of that battery is 0.2C, so 0.2*7Ah=1,4A. 14V*1,4A makes almost 20W of power. But as it was mentioned, much more safely to use lower current rates, and limit it to 0.7-1A (12w)
      Your charger is mostly either 5v/1a (5w) or 5v/2a (10w). So, both are suitable, but 2a charger is more prefered, as it provides more power, which is approaching to recommended values.
      Also don't forget, that step-up doesn't have 100% efficiency, so there will be some power losses due to step-up conversion.
      Conclusion: 5v/2a is much better.

      I tried this joke, maybe a year or so ago with this module and later also with more powerful ones that aliexpress advertises for 4 amps, but it just doesn't work because the module heats up so much that it almost burns out, I tried it with a usb charger that has 0.5 amps and the 5V voltage is so insanely hot that I rather cut it off, but they were bought for exactly the same reasons as you are now promoting this video

    Brother, Mobile charger (adaptor) 5v 2 amp if we increased the voltage from 5 v to 14 volt the current (amp 2amp) will remain same or current will decreased ???

      After the conversion, no more power can come out than goes in. 5V * 2A = 10 watts, which is the maximum power at the input of the DC-DC converter. 10 Watt / 14V = 0.7A, these are the max amps at the output, at 100% efficiency. Efficiency should be between 80 and 90% (max). So at 14V about 0.6 amps at the output.

    Однако микросхема не очень надежная и будет при максимальном токе сильно греться.
    При низкой стоимости модули обладают рядом достоинств. Конечно же, недостатки тоже есть: отсутствие защиты от КЗ и перегрузки по выходу.

      При полностью разряженном аккумуляторе проблем нет, но емкость аккумулятора составляет примерно 60%

    adaptör 5 volt 2 amper 5x2= 10 watt. Boostconverter 14 volta yükseltiyor. 10watt bölü 14 volt = 0,71 amper saat eder. batarya 9 amper saat olduğuna göre. 9 / 0,71 = 12.67 saat te bataryayı doldurması gerekiyor. ama videoda 15 saat te doldurduğunu görüyoruz. peki neden 15 saat sürdü. ilk aklıma gelen adaptörün 2 amper vermeyeceğini düşündüm. tekrar videoya baktım huawei marka kaliteli bir adaptör 2 amper veriyordur. boosterın çalışması için gereken enerjinin bu hesabı etkilemeyecek kadar küçük olacağını düşünüyorum. Belkide ben yanlış hesaplamışımdır. ustam sizin düşüncelerinizi nedir?

      Вы не учли КПД повышающего преобразователя. Плюс неизбежные потери на нагрев электролита. Именно поэтому в инструкции по зарядке АКБ указано ток зарядки 10 процентов от ёмкости при цикле заряда в 12 часов...

      çekilen akım sabit degildir ayrıca modül ısındığı için akım başlangıçta daha da aşagıya düşebilir ve hedefe yaklaşyıkça daha verim artar aslında bir sogutucu ekleyerek daha verimlikullanım mümkün

      Ну как минимум ты не обратил внимание, что заряжал он не глубоко разряженный аккум, а, скажем, заряженный на процентов 60. И нет, не сдохнет этот модуль от 2.7А. Впрочем, радиатор бы туда не лишне поставить...
      И да, с ростом напряжения на аккумуляторе, снижается разница потенциалов на модуле и аккуме, а значит и потребляемый аккумом ток. Когда потенциалы сравняются, ток упадет практически до нуля. Т.е. чем ближе к цели, тем менее будет греться модуль.

      Вообще-то номинал модуля три Ампера. Конечно лучше поставить радиатор Ил модуль на 5 Ампер. Здесь важна сама идея. Зарядить до двенадцати вольт если есть что-то из низковольтного.
      Хотя в домашних условиях смысла особого нет.

      Заряжается долго, но заряжается. Вы можете заряжать его несколько дней с помощью хорошего зарядного устройства.
