Excellent comparison video Simon, I have a 17 degree Darkspeed and its definitely a missile launcher (especially off the tee) and it has become my favourite club in the bag, I also have a 21 degree King Tec which I alternate with my 3 iron on tour length golf courses where longer approach shots into par 5s are required, both Cobra hybrid models are fantastic clubs though.
That totally reflects my experience. Aerojet 3 hybrid was too hot and low, but the King Tec was money. Could have gone 4 hybrid in the aerojet to get the same result I suppose 😅
The dark speed has a little more bias but you can make the King Tec draw biases too (not that you would). A lot of hybrids to draw as the player that most are designed for hits a fade so it is tough if you are a natural drawer of the ball
Would the higher spin and launch of the King Tec be better for a 90mph driver SS player who wants to use a 2 or 3 hybrid as a fairway wood replacement? Seems like you would need to be a higher SS player to get enough launch/spin from the Dark Speed in a lower loft.
You do get some high launch/spin players at moderate speeds who the Darkspeed really suits but the 2H in Darkspeed fires play very well for the high speed player as it is also pretty forgiving too. If you are a lower spin player the Tec will suit better
I have the 2021 king tec and it’s the first neutral hybrid I’ve owned, even in stock weight it’ll only hook it you nail it on the toe. Would recommend! I think it sits a lot more flat because they have upright settings. My irons are 2 degrees flat too and always struggled with upright hybrids
Love this review! Love how you get into detail, whats what, the hows, the ifs etc. Nice.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it
The GOAT. Along with Ian from TXG
Good info on the designs - very informative. Thanks

Im a cobra player. thanks for the insight between the two clubs.

Hope the low viewing figure don’t put you off doing vid’s like this, super informative and great buying advise, so thank you so much guys
Not at all! Glad this video found you 💪🏼

It was a cannon! Probably correct on the Aerojet 4H
Does one have more draw bias then the other? I struggle with hooking hybrids as a natural draw player.

Do you know which one is more forgiving on misshits?
Only just Darkspeed

The King Tec looks great but I find Cobra Hybrids a bit too upright as my irons are 2 degrees flat

This is the case for a lot of hybrids - ping have flatter lie settings on their hybrids so could be a good option
