      Hi David. I like doing these comparison videos as it really is the best way for the painter to compare the gun's, it's certainly more obvious to the person using the gun what the differences are, otherwise your just going on memory and past projects which can distort the findings sometimes.
      What makes this more interesting now I think is the standard Kiwami4 seems to have shot up in price so the difference between these two isn't as great as before, definitely worth considering, thank you as always, it is much appreciated 😀

      @@peteshobbies5383 I agree the current pricing makes them less of a bargain. The prices a few years ago made them a very good deal for a Japanese made gun. I wanted to get the W400 Belaria and the Kiwami WBX because they had great reviews and low prices, now I am less motivated to buy one due to the dramatic price increases.
      Having several guns, I do enjoy having a collection and using certain guns dedicated for specific jobs.
      It seems that the manufacturers have decided to change their marketing strategy to target a higher price point market. I suppose perception is a huge factor in value. The SATA marketing and pricing seems to have spread to its competitors. Recently, I ordered some repair parts for my Iwatas, even the AirGunsa parts went way up in price. Now the SATA prices don't look so unreasonable in comparison to the Iwata, DeVilbiss and Sagola guns and parts.

      Hi Mark, Thanks, mate. I don't do too bad considering the conditions I work in. Half of it is confidence, I am using different guns all the time these days, which I think really helps with confidence.
      I know painters that really fret at the thought of trying a new gun when it needn't be like that, laying paint is simply reaching to what you see so you adapt to what you are seeing rather than sticking to a set speed, distance, pressure, material etc.

      @mark7218 The W400 is the same as these. The standard gun is very good for single stage, it tends to be a little thicker that clear coat so requires a slight slower speed, it's very dependent on the paint you are using, I normally use a 1.4 tip with single stage as it wets it up nicely, cheers mate 👍

      @peteshobbies5383  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Justin, That's a difficult one, the WBX probably just tips it on atomisation but overall I would probably go with the Neptune, simply because the Neptune is lighter, better made, although the Iwata is good, a bit faster and has a none stick coating which makes cleaning really easy

    Hi Pete, I use 2080 superior on an almost daily basis, it doesn't flow out like some of the top end clears just like you said, just wondering if you add reducer to your mix and what do you use? For this clear I use 10% extra slow reducer with 15 minute flash and it flows out pretty well and I've had some mirror finishes.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi mate, Yes, I sometimes use reducer, it depends on the temperature, normally 5 or 10% but sometimes none, normally it a standard speed reducer as it not particularly warm most of the time.
      I always warm the mixed clear up, which really helps it flow, I've been using it for years along with a Max Meyer clear but in the last few years have been trying a few better quality clears and the difference is eye opening sometimes.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  11 месяцев назад

      Hi David, I wish I could show them in the sun all the time 🌞😂, unfortunately we aren't particularly blessed with that over here in the UK.
      Originally, when I did these compare videos, I would only show them inside straight after. These days, I like to do them outside as well to give people a better idea of what the finish is like in the real world
      The reason I leave them a couple of days, sometimes more is so any initial die back can occur, so again, it give you guys a chance to see it looking more like it would in the real world as you can get a little die back compared to a finish shown straight away.
      I have a job keeping them out the way of anything else I'm doing as I have limited covered space, so I normally put them outside when I'm in the workshop which is a pain if it's raining, of course, if the wife is out I put them in the kitchen when I'm spraying 🤣😂

      The WB and WBX use the same tip, but this will not fit the standard BA4J cap as the tip has a bigger outside diameter, the WB or WBX cap will fit on the standard tip but will not spray correctly as the is a gap around the tip, hope that helps 😉 👍

      It depends on what DV1 you mean , with the C2 cap it's probably a bit faster than a WBX but not as flat a finish, much more of a production finish, with the C1 cap it's slower than the WBX but has a flatter finish, it's all very close though with the clear coat used being more of a deciding factor
